Re: Ubisoft Boss Thinks Wii U Is Cheap, But Is Still Unhappy On Pricing

R-L-A-George

@dizzy_boy When you consider that people may compare the price of games. Thing is, ever since DS games used to rapidly go down in price and the used games industry grew. When the iPhone games came around and Wii became cheap, it added on to it. We now have a industry where usual casual customers are actually used to. So it did taint the industry a bit, where average shoppers may compare the two.(some actually gamers too.)

Re: Wii U Won't Include Trophies Or Achievements

Eh, well there is the KI:U in game challenges, SSFIV3D has them too and as well as some DS games I've had. So The challenges can come via DLC, but only in game. Though I think they should have Mii items and accessories that can be unlocked.

@cypronia4 You know, if you listen to constructive criticism and stop looking at numbers and stars. You would probably have customers coming back for more, rather than 7 yr olds who buy it because its called cake ninja. I mean it sounds awesome, won't you make an original, enjoyable game out of it. Like I said once about another game; "Ninjabread Man, this is either going to be really awesome or absolutely horrible."

@Blizzaga It would make people think you don't have to buy a nintendo system to get Nintendo Games. However releasing a sort demo emulator wouldn't be bad. Releasing demos of eshop exclusives and retail downloads. Though full version iOS and android games would defeat the purpose of Nintendo Games being exclusive.

Re: Talking Point: The Challenges When Writing About Games

I know how hard it is, when doing game reviews... You have to deal with your own fan groans, you have to get over to able to not sound like a whiny, hateful fan and gamer that doesn't know what constructive criticism is.

Well I think it does at some point, there are more popular game publications like G4 that have obviously sold out for more money. The freebies and events do effect it a little. Though I trust game publications to be fair, most of them are gamers that still have to buy their games and console.

Sounds like Gamestop 'Ninty' to me. I would go in here for the plushies and such. Its nice they're trying to appeal to a larger audience, Gamestop has always been kind of geared towards young adults.

Well, don't forget. Leapfrog, etc. Kid's have there own part of the gaming industry, Nintendo just happens to be closer to the center of the gaming industry.

The advantage is they can put the learning tablets and gaming handhelds that are normally carried at walmart and toys r us. Can be carried there without offending their usual customers.

@k8sMum It's healthy and normal for girls to like girly stuff. Your wife is an expection. I'm happy my girlfriend is girly, has other qualities than my friends, and doesn't play games too often. Nintendo's not pushing anything on to you, they are just catering some products towards girls, who logically, like girly stuff. You just need to relax and be a bit more understanding and openminded.

I have Bronies for friends and I've liked hot-wheels and barbies when I was younger. Thing is some Nintendo games have a balance of masculinity and femininity. So not much stereotyping there.

Also there is a study that says woman are more likely into cars like hummers and men are more into curvier, smaller cars.

Glee girl, not even an artist.

Thing is, my sister has got on to me for calling myself a gamer. She just doesn't understand, its not just a label to me.

I have a sister thats not really a gamer but she also loves super mario and LoZ:4S.

I think its more of the shallow representation in the commercials thats more offensive. They couldn't even find celebrities that fit the desired representation?

Yeah guys, why the hate? So what if his music doesn't meet your standards. At least he is friendly and respectful. A good role model for the kids who look up to him

Exactly, though he's loosely a role model. (He's getting to that age and I know young girls 10 to 13 who are his fans, he's getting to be a adult and has done something lately. which has me worried)
Anyway, he's a fellow nintendo gamer and he's a person.

I'd say touch screens have been around long enough for all of us to agree they're not a gimmick. Patcher has a point that looking back and forth from the GamePad to the big screen doesn't feel natural, that's why it's so important for third party ports to have minimal use of the touch screen. Mass Effect, Darksiders, Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed, and Black Ops are all doing just that. Other games like ZombiU are intentionally using the GamePad to distract you from the big screen--disconnection is their whole idea.
I really don't see the GamePad being a star feature for single player games. Asymmetrical gameplay is what it's all about. Playing on the GamePad while someone else uses the big screen. That's good stuff.

Well, it actually took me a while for DS to feel "natural". I am not surprised that it took a while for other more classic gamers, too. I mean, DS had two screens, touch screen and classical controls, some game used them ALL in game play.

I don't agree with him, though there is the Mighty Switch Force port to WiiU. The thing is, he missed the entire fact that you can play the games on the gamepad alone.
Though a few HD DS ports would be awesome. Just dawned on me, HD Kingdom Heart Collections would be a heck of a lot more exclusive on WiiU. Since the actual DS games are compatible.

More like amusement. You know the fangirl reaction.

No need to hate, its still Nintendo related and it would bring more readers to the site. Though its not strange for Nintendo Life to have a story like this once in a while.
