Re: Mega Man Is One Of Capcom's "Most Important IPs" Despite No New Games In 7+ Years

PrinceFroggy

@ShieldHero Mega Man doesn't exactly have trilogies, but it kind of works if you divide them up this way:

The NES classics:
Mega Man
Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3

The latter NES games:
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 5
Mega Man 6

The 16/32 bit era:
Mega Man 7
Mega Man 8
Mega Man & Bass

The retro throwbacks:
Mega Man 9
Mega Man 10
Street Fighter X Mega Man

The modern era:
Mega Man 11

Edit: So really, they need to make two more games to complete the current "trilogy"!

@MatoFilipovic Funny, when I first played it when it came out, I remember being disappointed with the length, but going back to it in recent years I had no issue with that. But I spend less time on games now, so I appreciate the shorter length. And I've come to really adore the incredible sprite art and creative level design. It's now my favorite in the series.

Re: Capcom's Best-Selling Mega Man Game Reaches Another Sales Milestone

PrinceFroggy

When anyone buys the Mega Man Legacy Collection, they're buying Mega Men 1 through 6. So it seems to me that the Collection sales numbers should also count towards the individual titles within them. That would mean Mega Man 2 has sold 3.11 million copies overall, Mega Man 3 has sold 2.68 million, and Mega Man X has sold 2.56 million - all of which are higher than Mega Man 11's 2 million.

@sd7232 "Super Mario 64 ... Has anyone pretty much completed without using walkthrough / strategy guide?"

I did. In 1996. In the snow. On Cool, Cool Mountain. And I had to triple-jump uphill both ways! 😄

You got this. What I wouldn't give to play my favorite Mario game again for the first time.

@Yoshif3 I know it seems odd, but here's the thing: 50/50 is no less likely than any other specific outcome you could bet on, like 62/38 or 71/29. It's just more noticeable. In fact it's more likely in a case like this, where both options seem to be equally popular. This is why voting is important. OK, not so much here, but in elections, absolutely. Candidates have won or lost by a single vote before, and it will happen again. YOUR vote matters! OK, civics lesson over. : )
