Respawn Entertainment's free-to-play battle royale Apex Legends doesn't always get as much credit in certain corners of the internet, but it's actually generated more than $2 billion in earnings since its arrival in 2019.

With this in mind, Respawn appears to be developing a new solo first-person shooter adventure set in the Apex Legends universe. It's again kind of big news considering the popularity of the battle royale game.

As spotted by Dexerto, a job listing on the Respawn web page for a senior engine/systems designer describes the new game as an "Apex Universe FPS Incubation title". Other roles seemingly list it as a "brand new Respawn single-player adventure". It's worth noting this series is set in the same universe as Titanfall.

Respawn previously mentioned how it was working on a new single-player game, but didn't reveal what it was - so it's unclear at this stage if this is the same project or not. Apex Legends launched earlier this year on mobile platforms and was released on the Nintendo Switch last year in March.
