Update: It looks like Sonic fans have been eagerly watching the backend of Steam for most of today. Tails' Channel, a popular Sonic website, has spotted that since Nintendo Life and other outlets shared the store release date from SteamDB, the date has been changed.
Now, instead of 8th November, the listing is now suggesting the game will be releasing on 3rd December. Still the Holiday season!
As Tails' Channel says on Twitter, this date is subject to change. It's already happened once in the last 24 hours, after all!
Original article: Sonic Frontiers is one of the most anticipated games of 2022, so when are we going to actually be able to play this new "open-zone" game featuring the blue blur? Sega has said it's releasing in holiday 2022, but a new listing on the backend of Steam may now have narrowed down the release window.
According to SteamDB, Steam's backend has updated the store release date of Sonic Frontiers from 1st September to 8th November. This change was made on 19th July. The new date apparently falls on a Tuesday, and it's highlighted how this date isn't at the beginning or end of a month - meaning it's less likely to be a placeholder.
While the date could still be in question, the month of November might actually be the release window for Sonic Frontiers. A backend listing on the PlayStation Store also previously referenced November - narrowing down the date to the 15th. "Holiday 2022" could potentially cover any of the later months of the year, so we'll just have to wait and see.
Do you think November could be the month? Are you excited to play this game? Leave a comment down below.

I can see it being November. It was the same month Forces came out
@OwenGamer22 Just adding more evidence, Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric on Wii U and Shattered Chrystal released in November. Sonic Lost World on Wii U released in October, Sonic Generations on all devices released in November, Sonic Colors on Wii and DS released in November, and Sonic Unleashed released in November too.
Sonic Mania and Origins are more of the exceptions to the norm with recent releases, with Sega seeing them more as the minor release for the year, and Sonic Colors Ultimate was bizarrely released in September with performance issues. Oh well, at least we can count on Sega to stick to whatever release date they set instead of delaying the game.
"Time flies, when you're having fun"
No, time just flies. To think this corona started about two years ago. A lot of games have released, all things considered, and here were are, so close to the "holiday season". July is almost over, midnight fight Express will be here before we know it. Then Halloween candies, bayonetta and p5r; then GoW Rag and Thanksgiving; Christmas jingles and protocols. I guess it is fun.
Would make perfect sense since Sega seems to love Tuesday releases and that date lines up with the week that Sonic Forces was released in 2017.
However if they suddenly changed their back end from September to November then they could easily change it again from November to December.
Sega tend to target the holiday season or an anniversary date (Sonic Origins) with Sonic games regardless of whether the game is ready or not.
@PhhhCough And suddenly we are 80 years old
