Thanks for this list. The Mamekujira visual novels look good (Scar of the Doll, etc.). And I've played Garlic for a bit before. It's a nice, frustrating, funny challenge.
Of all of the massively popular games from the 1st quarter of the N64's life span (Mario, Star Fox, Wave Race, etc.), this is probably the only one that has completely failed to age decently. The controls, AI, graphics and subject (Goldeneye isn't even in the top 15 best Bonds) leave a lot to be desired.
Too many to name from nostalgia, so I'll roll with Super Double Dragon (SNES). Somehow I mastered it back then and genuinely enjoyed the look of everything. But that frame rate! Wow! It would've made an awesome arcade game that played properly.
A runner-up would be Fighters Destiny (N64). It's probably the best fighting game on the system, but that isn't saying much with so few to choose from.
@Bunkerneath Yeah. Who wouldn't want to go back to the long, Castlevania, Metroid, etc. password days? And how about that save system on the original Zelda? I mean WHAT?!
A "normal" physical release had already been released after the Limited Run last year. In fact, I remember getting mad about it being out before my LR copy had even shipped.
Look, I understand that some game developers get excited about creating something - anything. But do we really need another inferior clone of A Link to the Past?
I hope Studio MDHR doesn't make a deal with LRG. Cuphead is such a well-known, well-established entity that it shouldn't need them. A widespread, physical release without a brief, month-long window would make more sense.
Regarding the main announcement: I hope that means some is left for Super Rare Games (who I love supporting, by the way).
Screw Blockbuster! The little, family-owned rental stores were the best. Back in the 90's, I was such a regular at 3 little stores in my area, that they would ask me what they should get to put on the shelves.

It would've been nice if this was coming out before I lost all of my Cuphead skills.

@mezoomozaa The 1st Ori is miles ahead of Hollow Knight.
Re: Team Cherry (Kind Of) Shares Update About Development Status Of Hollow Knight: Silksong
So when it was announced 2 years ago (I think), they hadn't been working on it for long?
Re: Limited Run Games Releasing SNES Cartridge For Side-Scrolling RPG 'Dragon View'
It's far ahead of its predecessor, Drakkhen, but it's still a chore to get through.

Re: Super Rare Games Confirms Super Crush KO As Its Next Release
@HamatoYoshi Perhaps you should write a diatribe to Limited Run Games and ask them to stop grabbing all the "worthwhile" games.

I love how Shigeru Miyamoto's favorite games are other game-changers. He knows how to salute and pay respect.
Re: Best Sonic Games Of All Time
1, 2 and Mania (not in that order).
And out of sheer, nostalgic bias: Spinball

One of a handful of N64 games that I truly mastered.
And it took a long time to do it.

Re: Talking Point: When Was The Last Time A Game Cracked Your Top Five?
The only ones that immediately come to my mind (from the last 5-10 years):
Ori and the Blind Forest
Super Mario Odyssey

Raging Loop should be on this list.
Maybe Yu-No: A Girl Who Chants Love...

I'll get this as a digital time-passer. As far as it leading me to learn coding, I seriously doubt it.

What next?
Super Mario Sunshine Is a Top 3 Mario Game?
Re: Feature: Best NES Games
Dr. Mario in the top 10? Can't tell if serious.
Also, Adventures of Lolo should be within the top 25.
Several other games on this list have me wondering what type of criteria people use to judge "old" games these days.
