Re: Nintendo Bringing 2D and 3D Mario Games to 3DS

PSICOffee

I'm interested to see how this works, aside from the usual port of Super Mario Sunshine and Luigi's Mansion which we know will be coming (SM Galaxy maybe? Probably not until far late in the consoles life). Here's hoping for Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars in portable form in 3D with new areas/features to explore!

Re: We Love this Michael Jackson Wii Glove, It's So Bad

PSICOffee

@HugoSmits whatever then, but you can't use that statement for when the sequel is made!

@Golgo sigh... obviously another person responding to just one comment I made without taking in consideration the other responses I made to this statement. Perhaps "stole" was a wrong word to use, as I was simply stating how similar the titles "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" and "Michael Jackson The Experience" are to each other by simply moving the placement of "the."

A simple observation that may or may not be a nod to Hendrix for which at that point I don't care. I just find it interesting they would call it "experience" that's all. No different than words like "revenge" "serenity" "redemption" popping up all the time in bad film sequels when they are ashamed to say "4."

@LuWiiGi if you are implying I got "owned" heavily, you obviously completely ignored my rebuttal that raised strong counterpoints. Understandable seeing how long it is and how little I'm sure you'd care beyond simply throwing out the useless word "WIN." As if this was some competition of wits or seeing who was "bigger" anyway. >.>

In conclusion to all of this, however, since people are so lazy to not read big comments and will blindly respond to smaller ones as usual completely ignoring any issues addressed in a larger comment, I find it difficult to continue discussing this matter. I find it useless now, as I'm sure even this comment will be ignored or skimmed and I might as well say whatever I please and no one would care or notice. I hope the game doesn't end up sucking, and it becomes a huge hit with the hardcore crowd.

Re: We Love this Michael Jackson Wii Glove, It's So Bad

PSICOffee

@SandMan seriously? I even said "It's a lighthearted observation relax." as I was just pointing out the similarities between the two titles by moving the word "the." No talk of explosion or extreme anger. Its quite apparent when people don't read comments, but I can understand given certain situations when its a wall of text or a lot of them. Still you wouldn't have said "stay calm" if you would have read the comments >.> How can you transfer the emotion of anger through text anyway? I hardly think "!" or caps will suffice for anything on the internet anymore. If you'd rather, I'd complain more so about why there isn't a left-handed version of the glove.

Also your link doesn't work :<

Re: We Love this Michael Jackson Wii Glove, It's So Bad

PSICOffee

@Jon I did mention how some of what I said was simply conspiracy, and I never said it was wrong to deprive fans and as a matter of fact said I supported doing so about three times in my comments. You obviously didn't read my comments carefully at all then. No one should have to make a business off some brand name or famous person who has died but they do. They should release the stuff not meant for the audiences by the original author for free on the internet after their death, with its original great quality, and not have to be priced for someone to make a living off of it. Of course the works published by the author/musician should be allowed to continue being sold, and let new fans discover it, but taking down bootlegs and things that are free just so the consumer has to buy the product is wrong, as the money clearly isn't going to the original musician or author anyway. I've seen plenty of videos on youtube featuring songs that haven't been released officially by dead musicians taken down because someone like Sony holds a copyright over the persons name, and still doesn't release the song they had just denied the fans over. I'm being so vocal about this because I've seen this corruption happen before with someone like the Hendrix estate over the years and would hate to see it happen to someone like MJ.

@vonseux it's not so much being uncomfortable with Death, as everyone is to some degree, its more about being uncomfortable with someone reaping the benefits of a famous dead musician and making a career out of it. It sickens me to think of people living extremely wealthy not having to work for their own entitlements as a career promoting someone elses work. I'd rather support the musician not the other fat cats who don't deserve it.

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops Wii to Get Online Co-Op and Zombie Modes

PSICOffee

What's that? Activision knows how to do online on the Wii? I knew EA didn't try hard enough with NBA Jam! Take that Trey! Of course I won't get this game or goldeneye because the new goldeneye will suckz compared to the original and everyone deep down knows it, and I dont care for COD. Besides these two games are probably so similar its LOLable.

Re: Features: Bizarre Emails Sent to Nintendo Life - Volume 2

PSICOffee

@Big A2 yeah The Chaser, his name had escaped me at the time. Actually I only know of it from watching a lot of it on youtube. Pretty hilarious stuff. It makes me feel ashamed to be an American, but at least I know there are plenty of people that aren't stupid here, and you find idiots like that everywhere.

Re: DS to Have Life After 3DS, says Nintendo

PSICOffee

Yeah completely expected. However I don't expect any DS games to be released past 2012. I'd say they'll continue all of 2011, then phase out in 2012. Hell maybe there will be a couple early 2013, but then that's it. This happens every time with every Nintendo system. Only the NES lasted a few years longer than normal, leading to hard to find good games of that era nowadays. It's a shame too, because if they would have kept the GBA just another half a year or so they could have released Mother 3 in the West! Same thing with Mother 1 if the SNES wasn't on the horizon and that stupid Sega didn't start the console wars then it would have been released (however maybe thanks to Sega we ended up getting a SNES anyway with the competition).

Re: We Love this Michael Jackson Wii Glove, It's So Bad

PSICOffee

@vonseux good point, could be competition with Just Dance 2.. oh wait that's Ubisoft as well! They must anticipate Just Dance 2 to only sell from October-December, then when gamers have realized its lack of substance or whatever the reason they'd stop playing it, they've got this MJ game for early 2011 so Ubisoft can keep those people hooked on! Genius! It's almost like they are rushing to finish the game for people to gobble it up after JD2, never saw it that way. Applying some famous figure to a dance game works too, also for profit. Although I guess that's a little unfair to put it that way because you could say Kirby was added to Prince Fluff's game for recognition, as Prince Fluff would fail as a stand alone, and just as much of a selling point as changing the SaGa gameboy games' titles to "Final Fantasy Legends," because it still worked. Yeah I know I'm just spewing conspiracy theories here and skewing off topic a bit sorry.

Also I'm perhaps a little too hard on Ubisoft for they at least let Red Steel 2 be decent and publish the No More Heroes series in the States. I guess if Ubisoft and the MJ foundation is happy continuing to make profits from a dead musician, and fans are happy to receive product from their hero, then whatever.

Re: We Love this Michael Jackson Wii Glove, It's So Bad

PSICOffee

@xDemon720x yeah I'm talking about being made fun of with the glove. I can live with all the other ridiculous useless add-ons and pre-orders but this takes the cake!

@the shpydar 1. fine, all platforms, more ways to profit. Still doesn't take back all the crap Ubisoft has spewed on the Wii and DS.
2. I never said Hendrix was the only one who could use the word "experience," I'm pointing out how similar "The Jimi Hendrix Experience" and "Michael Jackson The Experience" is by simply moving one word. It's a lighthearted observation relax.
3. I completely disagree, they didn't have to release that backstage footage of his upcoming canceled concert. I wouldn't be surprised if some unreleased material is "found" and released. I'm all for things like that getting released to the fans but it's still profiting. Take a look at any musician who has died and you'll see their popularity skyrocket after death, especially evident of how so many of MJ's songs were selling on top again in Itunes right after death. To go back to Jimi Hendrix, his half-sister Janie has made an entire career of selling merchandise off her brother's legacy, from underwear to pillows, to cup holders and stickers, not to mention any music recorded and has been doing so for 15 years with no end in sight, and the guy died 40 years ago to this year! They are selling overpriced unreleased material (unreleased officially by her estate) that has already been available in bootleg form all those years so you can't tell me releases aren't made to profit from a famous person or else Janie Hendrix would be well out of a job and back to being a hair dresser. Speaking of the Beatles, what about John Lennon last decade with his two songs "Real Love" and "Free As A Bird" released for their Anthology collection? They could have left those demos alone but instead rather decided to finish them to their liking. Sure you can say it was for the fans and for good times for the remaining Beatles, but it doesn't change the fact they made a profit and selling point that they were releasing brand new material in their huge Anthology collection!

Now I could go on with more examples of how this has happened but back to MJ, are little kids/ teenagers who play this going to be people who grew up with MJ's music? Unless their parents were fans, then hell no! Why else release another MJ game now conveniently a year after his death? Why not years before? Why wait all these years? Unless they were trying to introduce the kids to Michaels music, so they will be fans and future die hard fans ripe for profit for unreleased and past famous material, then they made this game to cater to already die hard fans who need more MJ, thus profiting off their need for their hero. This happens all the time not only in music, even with Michael Crichton, who they could have released his unfinished manuscripts online for free, but would rather just release them in an overpriced $30 book finished by a ghost writer.
4. Right, I agree he was influential and there were just as many who loved as there were who criticized him, like everyone else. I should have emphasized more that there were people I know in particular that would do nothing but make fun of the guy for years and say his music sucks then talk about how bad they feel for doing so and how influential and good his music is right when he died.
5. I'm not trying to "win" anything, and its your right to disagree with me, so the whole "so much fail" is just emphasizing your opinion not fact. I hope this clears up my opinion.

Re: We Love this Michael Jackson Wii Glove, It's So Bad

PSICOffee

I can't believe they are having a Michael Jackson game to profit on his death. Everyone was making fun of him before he died, now everyone acts like they cared about him and respect him because he's dead. It's bad enough they stole the word "experience" from Jimi Hendrix. Now there is a glove? Good god the Wii is hitting a new low with this one. Now all the PS360 fanboys will use this as ammo against us. Thanks Ubisoft for another craptacular game on a Nintendo system!

Re: Features: Bizarre Emails Sent to Nintendo Life - Volume 2

PSICOffee

Man I've been waiting for the seqauel so mauch th8nks~!

Reading these certainly makes me feel better about my own edumacation and getting by in the world. I'm sure many are just a bunch of pre-teens with computers, which sadly the newest generation is born into having, so they don't care or know the propar wai to spele. But I generally have trouble believing that some of them aren't just a few trolls doing this a year ago or so, or perhaps more likely a bunch of white trash southern idiotic americans who don't even know things like what the UK is at all (of course I'm giving a shout out to CNNNN).

I know saying white trash is mean, but not only is it true, I'm white and born in the south so its a good excuse for me to be able to say it. Its a shame people act this way, and all we can do is pity and laugh at them. Hopefully you guys didn't leave them hanging and sent a reply or forward to N telling the people they have the wrong address.

Re: Review: DuckTales (NES)

PSICOffee

Man this game is fun, why can't all licensed games be this way and match Capcom's quality!? I want to get the sequel to this in cart form and the other disney capcom games as well like Chip n Dale. So far though Little Nemo is my favorite of the bunch.

Re: Review: James Bond 007 (Game Boy)

PSICOffee

I was always curious about this one, especially since it is one of the few licensed games on the GB that have the players choice mark. It looks better than I thought it would be so I'll have to add it to my ever growing list of games to get...

Re: Nintendo Declares the Best Sin and Punishment Player Ever

PSICOffee

Man I haven't even had time to open my copy and try it out and I've had it for months. Seeing that I'm pretty good at shooters and the original game, and that I was doing good messing around at the Gamestop demo, I think I could rank pretty high up there, maybe match or surpass the record with enough effort. Hell I'm sure anyone could if they spent enough time memorizing where everything is in the game and figuring out how to get the best score. That's how you master a game like Contra anyhow. I've played through Metal Storm on the NES and I'm sure there are few games that offer a fair challenge that can be more difficult than that game! Congrats to the winner though.... for now...

Re: Top Smash Bros. Players Accused of Fixing MLG Match

PSICOffee

It's stupid enough that real-life money is involved in a tournament for this game. No, it's probably bad enough that there is even a public tournament for this sorta thing. What worse way to promote egotism then to brag about the size of your mushroom in gaming? For that matter, why are they even playing Brawl anymore? Thats soo 2008!

Re: Super Mario All-Stars 25th Anniversary Edition Coming to U.S.

PSICOffee

That's cool and all and I like the packaging and glad it is confirmed here. However I'll wait for the CD to be dumped online, and the artbook to be made into a PDF thank you very much. I have literally bought ever single game in this collection AT LEAST FOUR separate times, a couple times on NES, the GBA and GBC ones, VC releases, and of course the original SMAS on SNES. Not even the SMAS+SMW would entice me, even though it should be one here. $30 is fine for people who have never played or owned these games before, so even though its tempting I'll pass. Besides, the SMAS version of Lost Levels and SMB3 are made to be easier than their NES counterparts.

Re: Meet the New Voice of Marty McFly

PSICOffee

Yeah regardless of how good the voice acting is, my suspicions are really getting to me that this game will be RUSHED like hell just to make time for the holiday season. Meaning when we get the final product its probably going to be buggy as hell and we will wish for a better game and that they had taken more time with it. That's generally what happens anyway.

Re: Fils-Aime: Nintendo's Biggest Current Threat is Apple

PSICOffee

That's funny, because I remember Sony saying the PSP is not solely a gaming device but rather a multimedia device and is thereby in direct competition with Apple and not Nintendo (which many believed at the time was an excuse because Sony's PSP was failing miserably to the DS so they didn't claim it was in direct competition anymore with them). Nintendo has this in the bag anyway, because they'll be the first to offer a portable 3D game system WITH BUTTONS unlike some Apple product with bs installation software and crashes that is a pain in the ass to update that doesn't have buttons and is better off playing music only. Like motion controls, everyone will copy the 3D hand-held fad a year or two from now.

I'd rather have a system devoted for one purpose than a multipurpose anyway, because with one direct purpose it can be utilized to the fullest potential, like a company that only makes drumsticks compared to drumsticks and cymbals of a drum set. The company only focused on drumsticks will obviously produce better drumsticks then the one trying to cover all its bases. Nintendo is good at vidya games, Apple is good at music, so leave it at that. I have both systems so its not like I'm complaining, because I use them for different purposes, just like I have a PSP as well.

Re: Nintendo Download: 25th October 2010 (North America)

PSICOffee

BIT.TRIP FATE? Seriously? That's dumb. My Planetarium is something I've waited forever for! Finally I can look at stars without having to assume constellations like on the weather channel! About time we have a useful application on the dsiware too, so Flashlight has an instant download.

Re: Meet the New Voice of Marty McFly

PSICOffee

That's pretty good. I can hear the difference but it is soooo small its not even worth finding. He seems to really have the voice cracking down when MJ Fox screams or exclaims something. I hate how they are being so tight-lipped about this game though. How are we supposed to by hyped about it let alone let lots of people know if we dont have any major screen shots? Its supposed to come out sometime in November or December too? Great Scott is that heavy! They're gonna run outta time if they can't get a finished project.

Funny to think usually the older guy would've been unable to lend his voice (ala Christopher Lloyd) by something so trivial such as death, but its a shame Parkinson's has a hold of MJF 30 years later. Yeah I know, CL was made a lot older in the movie than what he actually was.

Re: Purple Power Unveiled in Latest Sonic Colours Trailer

PSICOffee

eh, this will probably still fail like the rest of the wii sonic games. not even sonic 4 garnered critical acclaim. Gamers, especially die hard sonic nuts will find something to complain about (physics, mechanics, music, camera, lack of new characters or concepts) and end up hating the game. I think the problem is everything that's made the sonic formula has been changed so many times. It's not like Kirby where you can change a couple things and its still an awesome game (KEY).

but only time will tell and I hope I'm wrong because I still think it looks like a fun game.

Re: Super Mario Bros. Nearly Had a Shoot 'em Up Stage

PSICOffee

ha wow that would have totally made the game as standard as the rest of the games that were gun shooters on the NES. Mario would have NEVER been as popular as he is today like that. Throwing fireballs is a key staple that makes him stand out. Its interesting but I'm glad they did what they ended up doing. Believe me, I've played games like Platoon and Rush 'n Attack and having to jump with the dpad up and then to the side as pressing diagonal upper right is a pain and not as responsive as you think.

The minus world is the only glitch I can get to flawlessly work too. Perfecting some other glitches in SMB and finally finishing Balloon Trip in balloon fight (got to rank 3 before carelessly dieing and never trying again) are some of my big "goals" for NES games.

Re: Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary

PSICOffee

@bro2dragons and @Stuffgamer1

yeah okay, so a few hundred give or take. Of course I didn't really think it was a 40% chance, just trying to be a little positive about winning ya know? Now its more like a 5% chance. How silly of me to forget all the people who would enter that were not living in NA, not own a Wii, sign up multiple times with different emails and enter, and tell their friends at facebook/twitter to sign up at NL just to enter this contest and then never come back.

I based my first guess on how I've observed comments over the years on here and have only seen maybe 50-100 on most things, and rarely a constant 170 comments per article posted. So I've come to conclude there can't be more than a few hundred NA's that regularly visit this site on a daily basis. For if there were, many would be immature a-holes posting spam and pictures everywhere like this was Youtube!

Re: Walmart Leaks Red DSi XL Package for America

PSICOffee

Too bad I already have brain age, and mario kart ds 5 years ago, and have no real reason to get a dsi when the 3DS is so close and I have no money for it anyway. Ah but that shiny red color with the mario items on it is SOOOO tempting! Gah I've wanted a handheld this color for soo long. I hope there is something similar for the 3DS! Seriously, soccer moms will buy this for their kids and then nintendo loses money on the 3DS because those same parents aren't going to buy them another handheld when they just got one!

It seems Walmart is leaking a lot of things on accident lately for vidya games!

Re: Features: NES Homebrew Is Where The Heart Is

PSICOffee

Yeah I agree with everything and thought it was a very good feature to read. Even more so that I know everything being talked about, and how I visit cinemassacre and screwattack that shows Battle Kid and such. I think in another 10 years, kids will look back to the SNES and N64 more so, because I've noticed my brother (age 18, three years younger than me at 21) and his friends always seem to have lots of nostalgia trips with the N64 more so than the SNES or NES at all. At 16-18 They act at times very much like someone who is aged 25-30 would with their nostalgic system of choice.

I can't wait to play Battlekid, Retro City Rampage, and really dive into Mega Man 9 and 10 (the later of which I've never played) some day.

Re: Broken Rules Feels Let Down by Nintendo's Online Strategy

PSICOffee

I agree with what everyone else has repeated: wii shop channel blows, friend codes, ds better, 3DS perfect, no buying games on whim, need ads for games, demos and incentives....

of course if they had demos and things people would try all the games and see that most of them are crap shovelware and thus not buy them which in turn Nintendo loses money they would have gained had that user bought the shovelware blindly with a no-return basis. However maybe have demos on certain games, which would entice people to try them, and thus force developers to work harder on shovelware games to raise their quality.

Re: Super Mario Bros. 25th Anniversary

PSICOffee

I thought Ufouria if I win but then realized it was 600 points and I already have 40 or so NES games at least on the VC so I don't know what I'd pick to be honest, not to mention I now own most of those games in cartridge form as part of my nearly 200 (small count I know) collection for the system. There can't be more than 50-100 NA users here anyway, so I think a 30%-40% chance of winning can't be that bad!

Re: We Celebrate 25 Years of NES

PSICOffee

Trojan horse of beauty, what a description! I've had so much stupid school work in the way but sometime today I want to celebrate this occasion by playing my NES. It can't be topped like Pat did with his 750 game marathon in 24 hours, but I want to start by playing all the games released at launch which I have except Stack-Up for its extreme price point complete. Of course I'm sure I'll play other games tonight hopefully too! To think most of these first-gen NES games of 30 total or so came out so fast.

Ah the good old black box, never afraid to show what the games truly looked like in sexy conformity of labels!

Re: Hudson Has Six 3DS Titles In Development

PSICOffee

As much as I love classic Bomberman, I REALLY hope its one of the n64 ones. I loved all of those games, even including and especially Bomberman Hero which everyone gives a bad rap for. I love that game and people hate it because Bman jumps and there is no multiplayer! > I just hope its not another classic rehash like the wiiware one was. I also like seeing Bonk up there as well!

As many different times bomberman has changed "series" like Bomberman Tournament/Story, Bomberman and Max, Generation/Jetters, the N64 era, the SNES era, the Jump/Classic era, and that forgettable Atomic one, Bomberman always stays golden once you've been accustomed to the changes. A 3D one can't possibly go wrong!

Re: Wii Party Leads Nintendo Chart Climb

PSICOffee

Good let the casuals gobble up all the shovelware games anyway. Wii party might be worth getting someday but not right now, especially when Christmas is coming up. I've seen plenty of Petz and Hanna Montana games sold out at places like Walmart and can only be happy for one reason that its happening, and that is to distract those people from the good stuff! However, this also means good games won't sell as well and become sleeper hits or cult classics because the casuals don't buy them also and therefore limits the amount of "hardcore" games on the system...ugh its all the shovelwares fault for causing this paradoxical conundrum!
