Ugh what an awful list. Conduit 2 and Duke Nukem DS might be good, but I'm not familiar with the series'. Pacman, Galaga, Cave Story ports will probably be good (i'll get Cave Story most likely when I get a 3DS).
Besides that, and Zelda, which everyone and their grandma will buy, I don't care for any of this other crap. Honestly, I'm not even looking forward to Conduit 2 or Duke Nukem or rehashes of previous arcade games I've played.
I guess the only game (remake) worth playing to me coming up, and one we already know of, is OoT so I can finally play Master Quest and whatever other new things added.
Alright! That's my bday! If there is a battleship style minigame, that's clearly a nod to the original GB game Radar Mission.
Then again, I live in US. It'd be more exciting to have this release on my bday though. I heard the game was disappointing anyway. Huge surprise actually.
This will never be west-bound. One excuse against it, would be "it's too similar to gambling bacause it has slots!" Also arcades are pretty much dead here, except for bs redemption games.
I lol at all the Europeans who think the North Americans are serious in their jokes about thinking this is an April Fools joke. We know it's real. In an ironic and funny way it's almost as if we pulled an April Fools joke on you.
Well, whatever. Although there is still a possibility this story might still be false...
Why is everyone crying April Fools? Obviously, the other three stories posted today have an equal chance of falsehood. Personally, I can't wait for these to come out so my eyes don't hurt after five minutes. I'm glad Nintendo is branching out like this.
I feel his pain, most Wiiware has always been crap and takes away from releasing more good VC games. I knew Wiiware was a bad excuse to sell crap games for an inflated price for download, especially after having played many similar ones on Newgrounds for free.
Actually he comes off to me as a cheap ass trying to sell his normally free flash game at an inflated price. He only wants demos so he doesnt have to buy any of the games. These new game download things like Wiiware should have far better quality control then. I sense another crash with the market already oversaturated.
As much as I hate Ubisoft, this is the only game i'm considering getting from them. I expected this game to get this score, but I'm curious as to all the fuss about it. I barely played the DS version and hated that globox guy. I did get Rayman 1 when that game out for the original GBA so it only seems natural...
The system isn't even out in the west yet and you're already complaining about lack of new IP's? Of course publishers don't like risking new ideas, that's why Monster Tale took awhile to release. Steel Diver is going to be just as exciting as Radar Mission, Solar Striker, Mole Mania, and the other forgotten but good first party portable games.
Everyone should be happy to finally get the system for god sake! The original DS had a standard Asphalt and Ridge Racer game as well at launch. So what? You should be happy there are this many titles at launch to begin with. Remember all the crappy launch games for the Game Cube (aside from maybe Wave Race and Luigi's Mansion)?
The 3DS will last AT LEAST five years. Plenty of precious Mario's, Zelda's, and most any other game people want, including many new IP's. Besides, who wouldn't want another game from an existing IP of a series they love?
There are already at least 30 great games I want for this system that's not even released, and there are really only 30 or 40 great N64 games in that system's entire lifespan! Seeing as the DS has over 100 grade-A titles, it's obvious the 3DS will match if not surpass that number.
Why is this the first time I've heard of such an awesome game? If it wasn't for this page I wouldn't have even known this existed! A platformer + metroidvania + petsim. DreamRift sure is creative with merging genres.
I remember for a Wii release weekend right after launch (when there was still a big shortage), I visited my cousin, and him and my brother and I were going to go to a Best Buy (where he worked) at 2 in the morning and wait in line until 8 to get two Wii systems.
However, the line was already big enough so we all went to Target. It was great fun, but we found out after hours of waiting the stores only had 15 systems available. We were lucky 13 and 14 in line. It was a fond experience and the owner of the store gave everyone free donuts and coffee.
But this new talk of a new system launch with the same food perks has me wondering if the same thing will happen, especially when we know there is already a shortage of systems at this launch as usual.
I don't recommend anyone waiting in line to get the system at launch at Best Buy unless you are within the first ten people standing in line. Even then, you're still relying on luck. It's still a surprisingly fun experience and you meet many interesting people. I'm wondering if all the preorders will even be filled.
Looking at the list of available states for this launch, Iowa is obviously not even included >.>
indie companies usually put out crap so why even bother with them? I like only having to think about the trusted 3rd party companies anyway: Capcom, Konami, sometimes someone like Rare.
This is just like when the orignal DS was launced, two standard racing games where one is slightly better than the other. Back then it was Asphalt Urban GT and Ridge Racer DS. I don't expect these new ones to be much better or even ground-breaking.
Now i know who to hate for making all of those poor decisions for Mario Kart Wii. Obviously punishing good players is to make the casuals feel better at sucking at playing video games.
California, NY, Chicago. How effing typical. There is NO WAY one of the other cities will be in Iowa. Maybe Desmoines, but no one cares about the capital.
Vehicles unwelcome? You've got to be kidding. Those including Louie were some of the most fun stages of the game, especially when you didn't expect them to be in the next level at first. This game is one of the only bomberman games that really focuses on a single-player campaign which is something rare in modern gaming, particularly with FPS.
Also, I'm sooooo very sick of people always complaining this game has no multiplayer. The NES version didn't have multiplayer either and who's complaining!? If you want a bomberman game with multiplayer, play one of the other 60 games that have multiplayer that feature bomberman.
Every E3 I hope Reggie will mention something about Mother 3, Earthbound, or the entire series being localized in general in the West. It probably won't happen, but I still like to hope.
Also thanks to last years best Nintendo E3 of recent years, the only franchises I still hope to hear from that haven't been mentioned on the Wii or anything is a new Star Fox, F-Zero, and Pikmin (which is confirmed but never seen). Anything is welcome of course.
The character cards are just 3D statues huh? Neat I guess. I'm still amazed by this technology. I like that we have something to do even if we get no games when we purchase the system.
So does this mean AR can't be used either? I guess I'll just have to remember not to use my GBA flash cart...OH WAIT THATS RIGHT I won't have to worry because ever since they screwed things up with the DSI and removed the slot as an "update" to the DSlite, I'll just have to use an older system to play Mother 3, which incidentally, is technically illegal for me to play in my country. Thanks again, Nintendo!
Awesome, even though I completely expected Bomberman Hero to be released right after Europe. I can't believe this title made it to the VC, even before the original 64 one! I'm tempted to say this may be my favorite Bomberman game, and no one can claim they truly love platformers without giving this one a shot!
@pixelman Nope, no problem with that at all. In fact, I've left plenty of rants in the comments on this site myself. I understand where you're coming from.
I feel another video game crash arising from this constant stream of crap titles out there. The market is becoming over-saturated again, and its only a matter of time until collapse. I generally like what Pachter says, but he's a millionaire who just knows a lot about video games.
Nintendo won't fall. They're the ones who brought video games back in the US, and they'll be the ones to live when other companies die because they put their full heart and soul into what they do.
Oh, and I knew Pixelman would leave a die-hard comment supporting Apple and cheap games.
I agree with Stuffgamer1 and @Bass X0 of course I know he's been in platformers and rpg-esque games, hell I own most every Bomberman game released in the States. I'm talking about recently these past couple years, we haven't had something like the Bomberman 64 games, or the GBA ones, but rather plain ones like the PSP Bomberman, Bomberman Blast on Wiiware, and Bomberman Blitz on DSI Ware.
@SilverBlacktail I realize she'd be great for the job and can adapt. But that doesn't help if she is asked questions by gamers like Cammie was. Yes, I know she's not directly replacing her, but if she doesn't know about videogames she might as well be considered doing so.
I don't hate the woman (yet) and I hope the best for her.
Yeah duh! I said this last June 2010! 4 million units means 1.5 Japan, with probably 1 million to US, 1 to UK, .5 to AU. For the states, that would mean, 333,000 for California, another 333,000 for NY, and the remaining 334,000 for the other 48 states.
Knowing there would be a shortage for sure is one of the big reasons I'm waiting for at least a few months after the official release to even consider buying this system.
I love the way Konami is handling a Hudson property. It feels like Bomberman will get more recognition in the future rather than just the generic multiplayer bombfest that's occured every other year as a download title.
Great, so the new drone pretty much replaces Cammy? Let's hope this one actually knows a thing about video games. But who am I kidding? We all know this blond chick was picked for her looks and specialty at selling to the casual crowd right? I won't judge her yet, but what can she possibly know about hand-held video games? Specifically anything more than what the common buyer or even a "fanboy" knows?
Hahaha you're kidding me right? Real fans already knew about this footage (for me personally I knew since at least as far back as 2001). So this is absolutely nothing new, and kinda silly the guy in the video would try to compare the areas of a generic canyon to a DKR track. It reminds me of all those years of people looking deep into wall textures trying to find secret doors and areas for Stop n' Swop and all that rumor nonsense.
What's worse about it probably, is now that the originals are on Xbox, a brand new generation is doing the same thing with rumors and theories and crap. Thanks for posting about this though I guess.
Yeah, another Mario game. What else is new? I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm honestly starting to get sick of Mario games. Especially Mario 64. I'd only care about a sequel to Mario RPG (a true sequel with Geno and such) or a game that has the same mechanics as SMB3 but just has more levels (like those e-reader cards only Japan got).
I'm hoping this new one is a platformer that can live up to that. New SMB was a good start.
funny. You guys usually get cute games like Trip World, Gimmick, and Ufouria that the US doesnt get, and a Kirby game actually fails there? At least you guys get it released, so true fans will be able to buy it. I'm still waiting for the only Japanese-exclusive Kirby game to be released on VC, Kirby Super Star Stacker.
I love this game. The music is catchy, the graphics are good for its time, and has nice control for a platformer. Louie is fun too. I've played almost every bomberman game and I'm glad this one is different. If you love platformers, don't pass this up!
It's also got lots of cool different bombs and vehicle stages, as well as plenty of secret exits and levels. There is also a secret planet if you are good enough to collect everything and get the best rankings, which is easier said than done especially beating the bosses fast enough. The snow boarding levels were probably my favorite.

Yep, April Fools. Nothing can sell well over there. Just look at Trip World and all the other great classic games the US never got. Nice try, though.
