Feels pointless to be able to build what you want and have control mixing items and weapons?
You do realize that it all has a purpose right? Put ice on a shield and it glides and so on and so on. Maybe you just don't get the level of detail, the amount of thought that went into this game is pure magic.
TOTK is a true next gen game, You have true freedom, amazing physics and building.
There is layers and layers of possibilities in this game, the world feels real, the story, the challenges.
Even if you don't care to make things, TOTK is BOTW but better, much better.
A gimmick it is not, this is gaming at its finest. A masterpiece.
Trend setter in what way? I don't know, how about the first open world game? First to have a functional combat system in 3d? Minecraft did not invent crafting in games, goes back to the 80s, and look at the way TOTK is doing it? Completely new. Not something done in a menu, it's done in real time and goes above and beyond anything before it.
Also look at Super Metriod and the map rooms. That evolved into the same effect as the towers, not the other way around. Speaking of the towers, BOTW also Implemented it into a puzzle, a challenge to get to the top. Part of the game play.
If you aren't excited to play TOTK, be amazed at what they did, then I would say you are out of touch and not a real gamer.
Well you must not have played very many Zelda games. From a Crain game to midway amusements, having a quirky left field item or mechanic is 100% Zelda and always has been.
@GamerDad66 bro you need to get out more and get some fresh air. Alot of people with no talent can point their finger but it’s honestly a great release.
@GrandScribe @GrandScribe Snap is a voucher program, 100%. Literally. Yes people on foodstamps dont feel it as much because they spend more on food vs a average same sized family, because its free. "correlation does not imply causation", huh? Prices are up and thats inflation. Money used to further, thats a fact.
@GrandScribe Assuming you not on foodstamps, food prices have had the sharpest price increase in 40 years. Cheap chinese products has hidden inflation because they absorb the hit, but thats all going to change. Check back in with me in 6 months.
They borrowed more money in the last year than in the last 100 years. Wait until the hyper inflation hits. BTW, shame on the "thought cops" who keep deleting my post just because you don't agree. Lame.
What a fool. These "analysts" try to create the conversation to have Nintendo exit the console business. Now that Nintendo is back on top, they find a foolish reason. I LOVE docking my switch and play both regularly.
@NEStalgia You do not know what your talking about but sure like to sound like you do. I HATE people who spread dis-info. The dreamcast set preorder records, and after launch set entertainment records. Heck, it even made it into the guiness book of world records. Retailers loved it. Snoopdog rapped about it. It was a big deal. I bought one on launch along with a line around the block. Major publications site its piracy as what doomed it. All because of windows CE. Its a FACT, not my opinion. The dreamcast had the best line up, 2k sports, acade faithful ports and built-in modem. Even the web browser was cutting edge. The dreamcast still holds up nice today and in someways had a technical advantage over the PS2.
@NEStalgia @NEStalgia Your pretty sure windows CE wasn't the kiss of death? Seriously? It was the prime exploit to get around the gigadrive security method and the root cause of it failing.
Doesn't strike you as odd that Peter Moore helped kill Sega of America, make room for the Xbox in the marketplace, and has a golden parachute over at Microsoft?
@Razzy Damn Razzy, my bad. Not only did I come off like a jerk. I didn't even read your comment correctly. Normaly I treat members of Nintendo life as fellow brethren. Lesson learned.
@Razzy Why is this so hard to think for a grasp. Most Nintendo games are $60. The LABO is $70, it comes with the game AND the cardboard to make ar least 5 toy cons.
Game $60
Cardboard and materials $10
Bundled together in a box $70.
@thesilverbrick You can't justify $10 extra dollars to get all those extra possibilities? Nintendo makes less profit on this and it does so much more. To each his own.
This was my killer app on the GameCube. I LOVED the music and the graphics. The stunts were great. I want this more then a new F-Zero and thats saying something.
I bought it hoping for the "Super Sprint" excitement. Maybe my car needs to be leveled up. So far it feels "home made" . I'll try again and see if I didnt give it a proper chance.
@thesilverbrick this isnt rocket science. Duct tape and and a piece of cardboard isn't out of reach for most people. It actually might be the reason why this will last a very long time., easy to repair and customize.
Im going to get this. Pack 1, 5 fun projects. Kit 2, cool Robot game. Kit 3 steering wheel and fight joystick with new software. I like where this is going.
Hacking a Switch is not good for gamers at this point. Sure, maybe (maybe not) your the one guy in a MILLION who installs homebrew for just because you can? The reality is the Switch is the hotspot where a developer can make some money and help push Nintendo back to the top and allow some Independence to actual actually make it in the marketplace. Even the people that want to put ROMs on a switch are sidestepping Nintendo eShop and the upcoming virtual console and it is BOOTLEGGING. Think about it.

Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?
@Rykdrew you don't like free roam? Then you don't like wide open levels with stuff to explore for years.
Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?
@OTBC87 it's the Biggest game for the summer of 2025 and it didn't need it's own direct? Huh?
Re: Nintendo Direct: Mario Kart World: Every Announcement - How Would You Rate It?
@SuperBro64
Even though $60 in 2017 is $80 in 2025?
Some of these broke jokers don't seem to understand inflation. Yikes, I'm glad I pay for what I value instead of the freeloaders.
Re: Round Up: Here's What Switch Fans Are Saying About The Pikmin 4 Demo
Anyways this game is going to be fun. The graphics are better, more options and ways to explore.

@stevep I like reading.
Re: Round Up: Here's What Switch Fans Are Saying About The Pikmin 4 Demo
@Captain-N Gender options? No thank you. I think they handled it right, you can pick the avatar that suits you. Less is more.

Re: Nintendo Teases How The ‘Gacha’ Mechanic Works In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@YoshiF2 Obviously TOTK is the latest in the Zelda franchise and builds off of everything it pioneered before it.
We are talking over 35 years being the game to beat and BOTW settled the dispute once and for all.
Now TOTK takes everything that was great about BOTW and superchargers it. Nothing comes close to Zelda in every category.
The freedom in this game will be mind bending to everyone except the folks who can't handle it.
TOTK will break records, be number 1 and will have the limelight.
The only game that will come close to the excitement will be GTA6.
Re: Nintendo Teases How The ‘Gacha’ Mechanic Works In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@Spider-Kev The Legend of Zelda is the first open world game. Don't get off topic, Zelda is the trend setter. Facts are facts.
BTW, I hope you get the game my man, I wouldn't want you missing out on video game history as it's made.

@Lizuka Huh? Must be you. Horses were always reliable.
Re: Nintendo Teases How The ‘Gacha’ Mechanic Works In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@Deemo37 It's not strange at all. Zelda always puts crazy things in every game.
Re: Nintendo Teases How The ‘Gacha’ Mechanic Works In Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom
@ArcticEcho Whoah bud, Zelda is the trend setter, not the follower. Go play something else, eye rollers are the kind of people I don't get along with.

@thesilverbrick Yeah, if you want to buy a honda civic piece by piece through the parts department it would be $150,000. Whats your point?
Re: Replacement Labo Parts Are Now Available Direct From Nintendo
@Razzy Your paying an extra $10 for the cardboard kit. Not quite "out the wazoo".
Re: Replacement Labo Parts Are Now Available Direct From Nintendo
@NEStalgia Dude, you build it yourself. What do you want....wood? We dont need more plastic.
