Launching later this month on Switch is Tiny World Racing, a cute little top-down racer that may well provide some cost-efficient multiplayer fun.
The game has players blasting their way through a variety of environments in 20 tracks across five different tournaments. You'll come up against settings like crumbling castles and volcanic islands, either alone in a Tournament mode or with friends in local split-screen multiplayer.
Features:
- Tournament Mode – Compete with your opponents across 4 tracks to win the gold, silver or bronze cup
- Quick Race – Dive into your favourite track without the pressure of a whole tournament
- Local Multiplayer – Grab a few friends and battle it out from the comfort of your couch
It launches on 27th November and will be priced at just £2.69 / $3.99. A launch discount will lower this to £1.34 / $1.99, so early buyers will be able to jump in for a very low price indeed.
What do you think? Worth a go for the price? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.

This game looks great and all, but if you already have Mario Kart than this is pretty much useless. 4 tracks?
This is the kind of game I'd be all over if it had a track creator, but even as it is it looks nice.
Hey, it's RC Pro-am, again.
This reminded me of that top down sim-ish racer that was show off some months ago that I forget the name of but now want to know if it came and went. Fake Edit: Circuit Superstars. I want that one to come out.
@AwesomEli “ The game has players blasting their way through a variety of environments in 20 tracks across five different tournaments.“
@AwesomEli Mario Kart is a third person 3D racing game, this is top down 2D? Maybe it's just me but I think of those as entirely different genres.
@AwesomEli Mario Kart is nothing like Micro Machines which this game clearly evokes.
@JoeyTS Oh, you´re right. I only saw the place that said 4 different tracks. And @erikharrison @SmaggTheSmug I´ve never played 2d racing games so maybe that´s just me thinking it´s useless.
Reminds me a little bit of Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road, the greatest racing game ever made.
@Yellow It's time more racing games had track creators.
This reminds me of F1-Dreams.
@AwesomEli This game has more in common with super sprint then Mario Kart. Play it, its fun.
Maybe if i have enough gold points... :/
I’ve said it before, and I’m sure that enthusiasts don’t care, but... why does this genre still exist? Even back in 93 when I had a Genesis, top-down racers were stupid af. Pseudo-3d racers (like Road Rash, or Outrun) were where it was at. I just can’t wrap my brain around why people keep pumping this stuff out.
It's sandwich priced turkeys like this that put bangers like Horace out of the limelight.
Wish sites would stop covering them
@aznable I can think of lots of things that are stupid af, but top-down racers aren't among them. Some things I've read recently, on the other hand...
@aznable I have played a few top down racers that I enjoyed. Mantis Burn is worth a look.
@SigourneyBeaver F Zero (Snes) could have used one, that would have been amazing.
@JimmySpades Was that a subtle dig at The Catcher in the Rye? I mean I agree, but what an unexpected target.
@rockodoodle I appreciate the rec, but I really don't enjoy the perspective. I've had a hard time playing them since I was a kid. Like the original 2 GTA games- just couldn't get into it.
