ALB In Whisperland is one of the biggest ASMR YouTubers out there, and quite a few of her videos involve video games or other nerd topics in some way.
She's done ASMR Pokémon Booster Pack openings, an ASMR Animal Crossing: New Horizons Let's Play, and an unboxing of the Animal Crossing Colourpop makeup line... and now, perhaps unsurprisingly, ALB has released another Animal Crossing ASMR video, this time unboxing the Tomodachi Bandai set of figurines from Japan.
But ALB's sets are legendarily gorgeous, too, and this video is no exception, with a handmade ACNH-themed display that she made herself.
If it's more video game ASMR stuff you're looking for, perhaps you'd also enjoy ALB's tarot card reading... with Animal Crossing amiibo cards?
We promise we're not sponsored by Big ASMR or anything, we just think it's very nice to have a softly-spoken lady tell us that Penelope the mouse villager is an Aquarius, and that means that we'll need to find more original, exciting things to do at work. Things like watching Animal Crossing ASMR and writing about it, maybe.

Cool set, but I can't stand ASMR.
Just from the title of the article I thought, "Sounds like something ALB would do."

Oh wow I've actually seen her before. Her collection of mechanical keyboards is crazy.

@Astral-Grain I said I like the craftsmanship, but I don't like ASMR. The set itself is still really cool. People are entitled to their opinions, and if someone interprets not liking something as a personal attack, that's on them. I also think hamburgers are disgusting, but that doesn't mean I think people who eat hamburgers are disgusting. Let people enjoy things, sure, but let people not enjoy them, too.
@Not_Soos Fair enough. Enjoy what you enjoy and let others do the same.
I didn't see it as a personal attack, I saw it as a form gatekeeping against those who actually enjoy it. If you don't like it and thus don't ever listen to it, why say you "can't stand" it?
I'm probably paying too much attention to comments that shouldn't have been made in the first place.
The crafting is really cool, I've always thought ASMR was a tad strange but I get why people like it, I think, I could never make something that cool though.
@Not_Soos HOW DARE YOU INSULT BURGERS I FEEL ATTACKED
(Lol burgers are gross I agree, unless they're homemade).
@Astral-Grain
Hey, it's cool! I dunno, it used to upset me quite a bit when people would get on my case for not liking something. Take Origami King, for example. I complained quite a bit after the first trailer because I could tell right away it wasn't returning to its roots like the leaks implied and was instead a continuation of the Sticker Star / Color Splasg formula. It was already a huge disappointment, but I was ratioed and made out to be a big jerk for not being happy, which just kinda added insult to injury. If you love said product, you've already one--why kick the rest while they're down?
At the time, I had pretty bad self-esteem, so stuff like that gave me a lot of internalized feelings of being a bad person, even though I was never trying to offend. The ripple effects of insulting someone for not liking something can be just as bad as insulting someone for liking said thing. After working on myself with therapy and meds, I've stopped obsessively worrying so much about whether my take is going to upset someone, so I pretty much just say what's on my mind if I know my intention isn't to step on toes.
I think there's definitely such a thing as toxic positivity, but on the other side of the coin, there's plenty of people who are toxicly negative too, and I don't want to be guilty of that. I certainly don't want to make anyone feel bad about liking what they like. Maybe "can't stand" was a bit harsh, I dunno. It's true, though. I understand why some might feel I'm raining on the parade, but at the same time, I don't think anyone should have to keep their opinions in so as not to upset someone. I think both are valid.
@Astral-Grain Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't gatekeeping excluding certain groups of people from something you're a part of? Like if I were to say, "If you like Origami King, you aren't a Paper Mario fan!" I don't think that's what I was doing.
@Not_Soos I appreciate you sharing your story. It's good to respect others but it's also important to voice your opinion - I hear you there and I appreciate you saying that.
Based on your response though, I'm not sure you even know what ASMR is. As far as I can tell, ASMR isn't a product like a video game, I'd say it's closer to a genre of entertainment, similar to how Anime is a genre of entertainment. Would you go into an article about anime and say you "can't stand" anime?
Also, you don't need to be part of a group to be a gatekeeper for it, all you have to do is try to limit access to a group, such as saying it's "weird" or making the statement you "can't stand it" despite knowing nothing about it.
I know you didn't mean anyone any harm. I think we've both learned from this.
@Astral-Grain Actually, saying things like "Based on your response though, I'm not sure you even know what ASMR is" is textbook gatekeeping.
