Re: Review: Chubbins (Wii U eShop)

Maybe I'll give it a go if I ever stop playing Mario Kart 8. That's generally how my purchases work now that I'm not really interested if it doesn't bring me away from Mario Kart. I haven't even started Wind Waker HD yet because I can't get away from Mario Kart 8.

@BulbasaurusRex I agree. Gameplay wise it was still very good. Granted, I feel having Team Ninja as a partner contributed to how the story turned out. As I don't think it would have been the same game if they weren't involved with the project. I in no way hate Team Ninja, and overall I like their games. The problem for me at least was that Team Ninja just had to much influence on the character and story. Which is a difficult thing to deal with when you have an emotional attachment to that character. Luckily, It seems they learned their lesson, and are letting Team Ninja work on new characters like Shia rather then the ones we care about already in Hyrule Warriors. Either way, I think If Team Ninja had not been a part of the Other: M team the game would have been very different story and gameplay wise. Whether that be for better or worse.

@MrGuinea Personally, I don't hate it. The gameplay is very good, but I really just don't like the story and how Team Ninja handled Samus. There are plenty of counter arguments to this being a bad game, but for me at least, the game's main issue was Team Ninja's track record of over sexualizing female characters, and letting them handle Samus was a bad choice. Honestly, I'm also a bit worried Zelda may get the same treatment in Hyrule Warriors with them on the team. I mean, there is nothing wrong with a female character being attractive, just Team Ninja has the wrong idea of what makes a female attractive. IMO, it weakened what was otherwise a strong character. Granted, Team Ninja isn't at full blame as the didn't create Zero Suit. They just took it further then what I would have liked, and to be fair Samus as been used in a sexual sense since the beginning. I could go on more about it, but I think this gets off my basic feelings about the game. I do over all like the gameplay, but it personally doesn't hold to any of the other titles except for Prime Hunters. I think the best way to describe it is as it's a good game, but it's not on Metriod standards.

@BLPs Basically, She took Reggie's role as executive vice president of sales & marketing when Reggie became the president of NOA in 2007. I believe she left in 2009. Which was a blessing from god. Anyway, they let here talk for far to much of the 2008 E3 press conference. Ultimately, ruining any part of it Wii Music hadn't already ruined. She literally spent about 10 minutes talking about the card she got from her son for Mother's Day. You know the typical stuff that resonates with gamers.............

Re: Pikmin 3 Update Adds New Stylus Control Style

I just tried it, and... well.... I honestly wasn't fond of it. Maybe I'm to used to the Wiimote and Nunchuk control scheme, but it was extremely clunky. The only thing that works well is tossing Pikmin, which only works in off tv play since it's hard to control without looking where you press. You have to hold down for it to be playable on the tv which doesn't really help.
Also, since your right hand isn't free you can't control the camera with the right analog stick which leaves camera control to just tapping ZR, and since you all ready have to use Z to lock on it is literally like playing Uprising with an extra trigger button which is just to much. Also, they placed sprays, dismissing, and the maps on the left side of the touch screen. Which means you have to press them with your left hand to preform these tasks quickly, which means you can't move while preforming them. Also the Charge is hands down the worst thing due to having to hold a button then press the touch screen to preform it. Finally, switching Pikmin is a pain since their circles are so tiny on the touch screen. It just has to many faults.
I understand why people wanted this since it worked so well in Nintendo Land, but legit Pikmin has to many controls for this to be useful. So, IMO the Wiimote and Nunchuk remain the best control option, while the Gamepad is still the best for off tv play. Also, no left controls is a huge over site. Maybe I need more time with it, but honestly I find it just doesn't work well from the fact of how many actions the game has.

Why are people so upset over boobs. The great fairies were practically naked. Sure, there is a big difference between 64 bit and HD boobs, but they are nonetheless boobs. Really, you should just be happy that it seems like Team Ninja has control over the design of new characters rather then old ones. (This is just judging by Impa not having ridiculously large breasts.) But, when we finally see what Zelda looks like, and she's been Team Ninjaized there is defiantly going to be a problem. Anyway, the game is looking really good.

Re: The Wii U Version Of Super Smash Bros. Will Utilise The NFC Nintendo Figurine Platform

While I was hoping for this not to be the case, but I'm not against it. I have no doubt Sakurai would make sure this is utilized well, but geez Nintendo won't let up. It's like why get more news every other day. Which generally just leads to more questions. This whole month Nintendo has been keeping the hype train rolling, and it doesn't. This Digital Event better live up to what they are making it out to be... just 18 more days.

Re: PDP Confirms the GameCube-Inspired Wired Fight Pad For Wii and Wii U

MixMasterMudkip

Wow it looks awful.... I got excited, and thought this was legit from Nintendo and connect to the Wii U through the USB port. Connecting it to the Wiimote means it'll have a one second input delay which makes it useless for Brawl/Project M since you can really use a Gamecube controller. If nothing uses the USB everyone will just use the Pro Controller for SSB4, and as said by others.... where is the 'Gamecube' inspiration...

Re: Several New Pokémon Online Competitions Announced

@neohopeSTF Honestly yes, but statistically Mewtwo is better. Also, I really don't think many people on Battlespot are going to be using Kyogre in the ways it's feared for. Either way, Kyorge is going to be unstoppable in the 3rd gen remakes with it new form or mega or whatever that is.

Re: Several New Pokémon Online Competitions Announced

MixMasterMudkip

@DespyCL Perfect Pokemon were always there. Shiny Pokemon don't mean anything, and hacked Pokemon can't get through Poketransfer if they aren't completely possible Pokemon. They only thing I can understand is Legendary Pokemon, but Mewtwo's Mega forms are the strongest Pokemon in the game. The only one that is really annoying is Darkrai. Also, Ranked battles hold the same Kalos Dex and Kalos Born rules as tournaments. At least during all the past seasons. Tbh it's gotten better. Last year people could look at your selected moves through cheating software. So, really nothing is that bad. Either way, it doesn't make sense to try, and find legit battles on regular battle spot anyway.
