If you've been nibbling at the fishing rod-flinging, platforming puzzle adventure that is Yumi's Odd Odyssey but have yet to bite, perhaps a $10 discount on the North American eShop will be enough to lure you in. Until 15th June, the 3DS entry in this cult favourite series will be available for $19.99.
We gave high marks to Yumi's Odd Odyssey in our review, praising its surrealistically unique, challenging, and joyful gameplay. It's safe to say there aren't many fish quite like this in the sea.

Been meaning to pick this up, but just haven't had the time or money. I hardle go past 20$ on the eShop, but now with Mario Kart 8 and Tomodachi Life hitting I especially don't have the time or money. Still, I will pick this up eventually. I'm just going to miss this discount.
@MixMasterMudkip Between Mario Kart, Attack on Titan, and the Red Goddess Kickstarter I will have spent quite a lot on media this month, so I will probably not take advantage of the discount either. Which doesn't bother me in the least. This is a full retail game that is already 25% off, and the discount brings it to 50%, which is why I get so annoyed by people who say it's still too expensive. I was perfectly willing to pay $30, in part as a sign that there is a market for these games, and I'm perfectly willing to pay that much after the discount has passed and I have the $30 to spend.
Oh, that is great. Now if only Unchained Blades would get a similar discount.
Sweet. I guess I'll buy it next week, it looks really tempting.
@Tim - $21.99 in Canada and 11 dollars off.
People are always complaining about NNID and lack of game transfers, now I know what they mean. Still considering a 3DS XL for my birthday but that won't be until late July, so won't buy this now on my wife's 3DS if I can't move it later. Though I suppose it will get a permanent price drop at some point.
Before Kirby: Triple Deluxe, this game was my #1 favorite 3DS sidescroller platformer...and this is coming from a man.
The Wii U Quick Start Menu update is available!
@StephenYap3
Psh. Real men can say they play Yumi's Odd Odyssey or sport some Peach gear in Mario Golf: World Tour (I like the Blooper Combo more, though) or even wear the Kirby Hat on their Streetpass Mii, if they like. It's all good.
@Jahir
It's very fun, though it is strictly puzzle platforming, devilish at that.
This is for the crowd that has fun and enjoys things like 100%ing Banjo-Kazooie, getting all the Star Coins in recent Marios, and/or doing Buster-only runs of Megaman games.
I'm on the fence for this one for some time, but without a demo the price was to high to dive into a - for us here - unknown franchise. I hope the discount comes to EU as well, I do not see any reason to only do it in the US.
Already discounted? O.O;
Guess the game is selling lower than expected... I would say it's a shame since such a very well crafted game deserve more attention, but I played -stage 33-, now is your turn for suffer Agatsuma and Natsume >o<
I should get a $5 discount from my downloaded game via the Mario Kart 8 promotion, so Yumi's Odd Odyssey will only be $15 for me. I'm willing to give it a go for that price.
I got from eBay Umihara for the Super Famicom, and it's reaally hard. I was planning on getting this one too at some point.
Come on 10 - 15$ guys...
I paid the original price. Such an unique platformer. There were two stages i could never unlock. Loved every infuriating minute.
@HyperSonicEXE You just make it more tempting, I'm a completionist and I LOVE difficult games.
@Kroisos: It's still expensive for a download. I would've proudly paid full price for a physical cart though.
After watching the gameplay trailer I gotta say this looks like one weird game. Plus the anime renders depict all the characters to be... stacked 0.o
@Jahir
Perfect! Then you'll definitely love it, because that's its forte. You'll pretty much be a master of rope physics after 100%.
I was sure I'd buy this once it went on sale, but $20 for a download amid all this other stuff I'm playing? I might have to pass for now.
For 20€ in Europe i'd highly consider it.
I'll likely miss it as I was hoping for one. Here's to next time...
