Even with news of Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire dominating the Pokémon news space, it seems that the already released Pokémon X & Y show no signs of slowing down as more competitive events have been announced. Several new online competitions for the 3DS Pokémon titles have been revealed, taking place from as early as next month until autumn.
From June 6th through June 8th, the Think Fast Competition: Single Battle will take place. Each round of the competition is limited to a single 10-minute Single Battle, with a 30-second preview of the opponent's team, and 15 seconds to make moves each turn.
Later in June, the 2014 International Challenge June will occur. Similar to the May competition of the same name, players will be able to earn Championship Points which can be used to possibly secure a trip to the World Championships later this summer.
Up next, in July, two events will take place. The first, the Eevee Friendly Match, will limit participant's Pokémon to only Eevee and its various evolutions. To mix up the battles even more, the Rotation Battle format will be used to increase the challenge and fun of the competition. Secondly, the July All Star Battle will allow two Legendary or Mythical Pokémon to appear on competitor's teams. This competition will also use the Double Battle Format.
In August, the Think Fast Competition makes a return but this time in Double Battle form. However, players will not be able to see a preview of their opponent's pocket monster, and each player can only have one Pokémon in reverse, for a total of three Pokémon per side in each battle.
Lastly, as summer comes to a close, two more events will take place in the autumn months. The Fairy-Type Cup will be limited exclusively to Fairy Pokémon while the Halloween Party will have a similar format but will be exclusive to Ghost Pokémon. The dates of both of these events are to be determined at this time.
That's it for now. Will you be participating in any of these competitions? Let us know in the comments below.

"But Pikachu, as it is not fully evolved, will be at a disadvantage." [crying Pikachu picture]
I like all of these and how it continues ask the way into the fall as well.
i really wish i was tournament ready. i would get beaten so bad.
The challenges are great. Sometimes these challenges can make a lot easier if you don't have to travel, just staying here at your living room......can make it a lot easier.
I already have a Mono-Ghost type team. I know which one I'll be entering in.
@Incarnadine You need to have a Gourgeist, though.
Ugh... I hate having to breed new teams for these.... I'll probably only do the International like the one going on right now, and the ghost one because I can't resist a chance to use Cotton Guard Mega Banette.
@Interneto Never in a million years.
@Incarnadine But that's the rule to be able to compete lol
I hope some NL members compete... I know we have some top notch battlers!
Online battles are ruined since the launch of poke transporter...
@DespyCL All of these tournaments except the All Star one restrict you to Kalos native Pokemon only. Some of them are restricted to just those found in the 3 regional Pokedexes, while some of them allow National Dex Pokemon (still have to be Kalos bred).
Also, online battles haven't been ruined at all. Perfect IV teams were everywhere before Bank launched. Only difference is that most of them are shiny now.
These actually sound pretty cool... I like the think fast singles competition and the Eeveelution competition. I think I'll partake.
Also, season 5 of the Battle Spot - Special Battle seasons begins on July 15th and will allow you to use all 6 Pokemon, but no hold items. Basically the original rules from Red/Blue.
Ohh, Eevee-only online matches! That sounds fun! Time to go to work developing my Eevee Evolutions!
The think fast battles sound good. I'll definately have a team ready by that time!
Okay, so there will be more competitions throughout the year; that's really good news. I'll be busy during the first one, but I should have time for the others. Some of these sound really cool; I always love when a competition has a theme or some other kind of twist to it.
Fairy types only in the one competition? Well guess I should finish my mawile so I can just spam iron head... and make a HP poison gardevoir if that's the case.
I really think that's a bad idea.. there is only a couple viable fairy types and not that many options to choose from.. everything will more than likely be special walls as the only physical threat is mawile which we all know will be on 99.9% of all teams for steel type.
Azumaril, gardevoir, mawile, sylveon, grumbull, jigglypuff, wigglytuff, togekiss, slurpuff, aromotiss (spelling?), florge's line, that pichu ripoff.. and tbh honest that's all I can think of as far as all the fairy types in the game.. I can't even think of more than three different strategies.. either mawile sweep with wish/heal bell support with sylveon and the two fairies that need traded.. or gardevoir sweep... or just annoy the entire world with possibily the cheapest method of winning in the form of paraflinching everything with togekiss..
For the ghost type one.. atleast you have plenty of ghost types and many ways to attack each other.. fairies, nothing fairy can stop gardevoir.. or paraflinch togekiss for that matter. Hidden power fire gardevoir murders mawile.
@IceClimbers k, i was talking about the common online battles, not the tournaments. Since poke transporter there are a lot of perfect/shiny legendaries or hacked pokemons. It isnt the same as it was before poke transporter...
@DespyCL Perfect Pokemon were always there. Shiny Pokemon don't mean anything, and hacked Pokemon can't get through Poketransfer if they aren't completely possible Pokemon. They only thing I can understand is Legendary Pokemon, but Mewtwo's Mega forms are the strongest Pokemon in the game. The only one that is really annoying is Darkrai. Also, Ranked battles hold the same Kalos Dex and Kalos Born rules as tournaments. At least during all the past seasons. Tbh it's gotten better. Last year people could look at your selected moves through cheating software. So, really nothing is that bad. Either way, it doesn't make sense to try, and find legit battles on regular battle spot anyway.
Nobody battles with Pikachu... Am I right?
@MixMasterMudkip Mewtwo isn't Kyogre is the best Pokemon in the game
@neohopeSTF Honestly yes, but statistically Mewtwo is better. Also, I really don't think many people on Battlespot are going to be using Kyogre in the ways it's feared for. Either way, Kyorge is going to be unstoppable in the 3rd gen remakes with it new form or mega or whatever that is.
