This is reprehensible and completely disrespectful to the people who support Sega. The games are available affordably, but Sega wants us to buy the next new, more expensive thing. And now people have to rush to buy these when maybe they don't have the money because of FOMO, or else be forced to buy Origins. We're entitled to these games. Platforms shouldn't allow delisting. It's totally anti-consumer. If a company wants to delist a game, the game should be made free for six months before it can be delisted.
@Ralizah Nintendo should have all of the digital games at least 90 percent off until the shops are closed. And they should be free the last month. Any third parties that have games on those shops should also be made to follow those rules. We're entitled to play these games. Why should they be so expensive when everyone has clearly had enough time to buy them at full price? Don't be anti-consumer for once, Nintendo!
Instead of taking down these fan-made games, Nintendo should let people mod games for the online service. I don't know why they have to be so stingy about these things. These people are trying to make the games better and let us play them for free. Nintendo should encourage that instead of always trying to ruin our fun and charge us for games that are very old and don't perform well anymore.
This should be available on NSO. Other companies encourage this sort of thing, but Nintendo ignores it or tries to eliminate it. Why not let people have fun?
This is not surprising. The developer did the right thing by including the extra game free, but greedy Nintendo said no. They wanted to save it so they could sell it on a virtual console. How many times have tried to sell us Super Metroid?
Nintendo reminds us of how it is an anti-consumer company. Microsoft buys every developer and gives the games away on Gamepass, and Nintendo charges for online and then takes away games we've paid for. If Microsoft bought Nintendo, things like this would never happen.
@Boldfoxrd @Boldfoxrd Boldfoxrd, I agree. If I buy a game once I should get it for free or maybe a dollar or two every time it is re-released. Why should I be forced to keep buying it?
@Burning_Spear @Burning_Spear Burning Spear this is the dumbest thing I've ever read. I want to play Banjo Kazooie, but it costs like 50 dollars used and I don't have a N64. My brother won't let me use his copy because I erased the save file by accident. So I have to pay like 300 dollars to buy a used N64 with Banjo? And then when I beat the game I have to sell it all back? These games should all be free on Switch online. It takes no effort to port these games, but Nintendo has an anti-consumer attitude about selling everything and making us wait for it.
I hope all of these extras have to go back to Nintendo to be destroyed at a loss. Nintendo forced us all to buy these things at a time when gamers were trying to get the PS5 or Xbox, so they deserve to lose money on this. I had to buy 3D All Stars on an installment, and now it's still available for anyone to buy. I hope Nintendo learns its lesson but probably not. It is the most anti-consumer company out there. Sony and Microsoft just released new consoles and all the games are there for as long as we want.
This is terrible business practice. If the shop is open, why can't I use a credit card? Is this 2003? Why am I forced to take the extra step of buying an Eshop card first? So Nintendo can make extra money from selling the cards? Nintendo loves inconveniencing its customers, while Sony makes things so easy for its customers to buy what they want.
I never played this game the first time, and it doesn't look like something that is worth playing now. I don't know why companies ask us to pay money for things like this.
@Crono1973 @Crono1973 you are right. Nintendo is like Pravda. They only want their version of the story, so it sounds like we are being treated like human beings when instead we are being robbed and exploited. Sony and Microsoft treat their customers so much better, like we can actually buy their games and consoles whenever we want, instead of having to buy them when Nintendo says.
@Razer @razer you are right. PS4 numbers are better than Switch numbers. And Switch numbers are artificially higher because we were forced to also buy a lite console to play on the go because the regular Switch is not portable. Nintendo is only doing this to force us to watch the video without any criticism. So when they say Zelda Collection will only be available for two months, they won't be criticized for being anti-consumer. Why do they have to be evil and greedy even on the best day of the year?
This is horribly anti-consumer and evil. I haven't even finished paying off 3D All-Stars and now I'm forced to buy an outrageously expensive statue so I can enjoy all features of a lazy port selling for full price? And what about the special joy cons that are already impossible to buy? How can Nintendo keep doing this to its customers and still be in business? The Amiibo should be free with the game. A port and an Amiibo should be no more than $25, and that's just the price of the Amiibo.
@KnightsTemplar KnightsTemplar you are right if you buy it once you should be able to download it for any system without paying again. All these companies are anti-consumer. I own it on Switch and now I have to buy it again so I can play the same game?
This is very anti-consumer of them to break a promise. How can you say people working from home is the problem if everyone has been working from home for a year? They knew about that when they promised the release date, and now it's an excuse for a delay? Nintendo should not allow this, but Nintendo will do whatever is best for itself and Mojang.
Nintendo should not let this happen. They are still selling Switches and so this game should be available for everyone to play. Nintendo is taking away everything from us at a time when the Switch is so popular. It is not a consumer-minded company, that's for certain.
@lacaras4 Lacaras4 you are right. The scalpers are doing what Nintendo won't. They are at least letting us buy the game. Nintendo is worse than the scalpers.
@Crono1973 Crono 1973 you are right. How do we know these scalpers aren't Nintendo employees who can still get copies for scalping? Nintendo could keep making this game for years and not lose money, but they would rather see the scalpers punish the loyal fans who couldn't afford the game when they were being forced to buy it.
@Burning_Spear Burning Sper do you see the pictures in this story? People are selling the game for $2500. When has a game ever sold for this much money less than a year after it was made? Scalpers are making money because Nintendo stopped selling the game. When was the last time Sony stopped selling a game?
This is all because Nintendo is greedy and anti-consumer. They forced most of us to buy it and are now sitting back and laughing while the rest have to pay $2500. I heard that a lawyer is suing Nintendo because of this. I hope he makes them give us all refunds.
This is what I've been saying all along. Nintendo is playing the games, not us. They are forcing their loyal fans to buy games they don't even want to play for fear of losing the opportunity forever. And they call it a collector's item so people will buy extra copies. They are the most anti-consumer company.
@Anti-Matter Anti-Matter I agree. I was forced to buy them through an installment plan so I wouldn't miss out. Nintendo should be ashamed to do this to the true fans. Like you said, Nintendo is saying you have to buy our games now, so wait to buy your PS5 games. And so we keep having to pay for whatever item Nintendo has made the item of the month, like the Monster Hunter controller and figures. And I bought 3D All-Stars and I don't even have time to play it. So money for nothing.
@DocRompler DocRompler I couldn't afford it, but Gamestop lets you buy the game and pay if off, so I bought a couple of copies. But that means I couldn't buy Monster Hunter. How long before that is sold out and not available ever again?
This is disgraceful. Nintendo forced all these people to buy All-Stars. People who didn't have the money right now but bought it anyway. And how many more people are there who will never play it because of Nintendo's anti-consumer policy?
@Madder128 Madder128, I know. Sony puts the PS5 in a lottery so everyone can buy one. That's fair. And then Nintendo sold the Animal Crossing console and no one could ever get one a week later. And then a year later, they brought it back but at the same time as the Fortnite console. So if you didn't get one at launch, when no one could, now you have to buy two consoles at once or choose only one.
@CammyUnofficial CammyUnofficial, Buy this now or it will never be available again is totally forcing me to buy it. They sold millions of copies of this game by forcing people to buy it, so I'm sure it will happen again.
@Madder128 Madder128, no, they are not very friendly. They are literally going to take all these games and codes and burn them or dump them in a pit, rather than give them to people who really want to play the game. And they spent the past month rubbing it in our faces. Someone told me a lawyer is suing Nintendo because of this. I agree. You should not be allowed to force someone to buy a product.
This doesn't help me at all. I still have to come up with the money in the next week. Nintendo announcing this is like trolling people who can't afford the game. I want physical, but what would it hurt to give away a free download code to everyone after March 31?
@Burning_Spear Burning Spear you are right, they should give everything away. They got all the money from the people who have it to spend and should let the rest of us have what is left. How anti-consumer is it to say, Ha ha, we have all these games and are going to trash them so no one can play them? And how would I get Xenoblade 2? Was there a time limit on that, too? I didn't know.
@brunojenso Everyone was "forced" to buy it. They gave us six months to buy it, but it was really only like one month because most of us had holiday expenses, and the PS5 and Covid. And now we're in March and we have to find the money by the 31st. That is telling people to buy something rather than offering.
@BlackenedHalo It is so anti-consumer. Nintendo doesn't care about you or me. They just want to make as much money as they can from the people who have it, and then they stick a thumb in the eye of the rest of us. Giving people six months to come up with money sounds like loan-sharking.
I can't believe this is actually happening. This is so nasty and greedy. Nintendo should give away all the games and merchandise it has left over at the end of the month. They're going to throw it away rather than let us have it? I haven't been able to buy All Stars, but the trash collectors can have it for free? And they're doing this when everyone is trying to buy the PS5. Where do they think we get all this money? Nintendo doesn't think about its customers at all.
@BloodNinja Your right. I think Nintendo is lying about 8 million sales, and I think a lot of the people who bought that game didn't want to but were forced to buy it. Nintendo is anti-consumer.
@Burning_Spear It may be easy for you, but I just bought a PS5. I have limited money for games. How does Nintendo expect me to pay $60 for a new game so soon? I shouldn't be forced to buy games. And I don't have time to play it anyway between Minecraft and Super Mario 35 being delisted soon. It's anti-consumer to release one game for free and then make me pay for another and then delist them both after six months.
The government should be investigating Nintendo over this. This is anti-consumer and unfair to everyone who doesn't work and can't afford these games during a pandemic. At the very least, the game should be half price for six months before it's pulled, but it shouldn't be pulled at all. I bought a Switch, and I should be able to buy every game for it as long as I have my console.
@Radbot42 Yep, Minecraft does it right, and Nintendo does it wrong. They greedily grab our money with teased content and then shut off that content. It's an anti-consumer attitude. I remember when I used to be able to buy a PS2 game and play it forever. Now we're renting everything.
I don't have much time for this game anyway, but it shouldn't be taken down on March 31. That's totally evil of Nintendo to hook people on a game and then take it away. I bought a year of online, but this is disappearing halfway through my subscription. It's all about greed.
