Re: You Can Now (Unofficially) Run Android On Nintendo Switch

LightyKD

@Ham-n-jam Because this is a Nintendo fan site and some Nintendo fans only believe what Nintendo tells them. some people still believe that you cant play GameCube games on a Wii U. On topic, this is a great thing! Some people just want one box to do it all and having Android on Switch gives that option. Personally I'm going to wait for a "one card" solution before I try this. I don't want to have to switch cards every time I want to change the OS.

Re: Limited Run Announces Multiple Physical Game Releases For Nintendo Switch

LightyKD

Extremely peeved about Power Rangers. It would have been nice to have a heads up about the physical release, MONTHS ago! From now on, I'm just going to wait it out on all digital games. Sucks that things have to be this way but until developers and publishers start being more forward about physical releases, they can expect less sales at the release of a game.

Re: Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3: Scarlet "Basic Free Edition" Arrives At The End Of This Month

LightyKD

I grabbed the F2P version yesterday. If you've played the PSP game you know what you're getting into. Overall I feel more relaxed with this game. I love how the volleyball controls have been simplified a bit by using (B) + Stick combos versus multiple buttons. I still HATE the camera angle for volleyball play. I just want tennis view! Is that too much to ask for?! I really hope that the F2P save file can be used on the full version of this game. I plan to import the game some day. All of that said, I am definitely going to have to clear my SD card soon. So many pictures, so many! LMFAO!

If a sequel to this game is made, I hope it moves into "open world" territory. I'd like to stroll through Zack's Island and not just navigate via the menu. Some row boating and swimming would also be nice for a sequel.

Re: Pre-Orders Are Now Live For This Gorgeous Switch Zelda Controller

LightyKD

@Nico07 I have three of Power A's wired controllers

  • Peach (Black top, hot pink bottom)
  • Yoshi (Green top, white bottom)
  • Mario (Red top, black bottom with Mario emblems all over it)

All three are beautiful controllers but the left sticks, when you flick up will register "up" for a split second before moving things downward. Tried two switches and three docks and they all have the same issue. It feels like the manufacturing process for the left sticks is completely off. Even worse, the Switch has no support for stick calibration on these controllers.

Re: nWay Adding Three Free Characters To Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid

LightyKD

Two of the three characters are meh at best. Why the Cenozoic Blue Ranger? Just give us RJ Cyler's version of Billy. What's the deal with Trini in dragon armor? Do we also get standard Trini?? Udonna is the only one in this group I'm chill with. The Boom comics, as good as they are, simply have too much representation in this game. It's starting to feel like "Power Rangers: Mega Fanfiction" than a game celebrating the 25 years of the TV show.

Re: Review: Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid - A Promising Fighter Undone By Publisher Greed

LightyKD

@iescalie1 I'm glad we agree. Hasbro is currently in a marketing blitz with Power Rangers Beast Morphers. What better way to sell the new game to a bunch of kids then to let them play as the shiny new team of Rangers in the new game?! I was originally going to buy three copies of this game but at this point I can barely justify the first copy I got this week. nWay has a lot of work to do.

Re: Review: Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid - A Promising Fighter Undone By Publisher Greed

LightyKD

As a Power Rangers fan im disappointed at the lack of content. There needs to be better voice overs (that sound similar to the actual Rangers) and music. Gameplay wise, difficulty levels and match making based on actual skill would be nice. I have a hardcore love for Power Rangers but I dont plan to play this game like a hardcore, tournament fighter. In regards to DLC, additional Rangers should be .99 cents a pop, giving nWay the ability to package teams or certain types of Rangers for more. I've seen the crazy amount some YouTubers have paid for the mobile game and quite frankly, I refuse to spend more than 60 on this game, especially after I just paid for the base game. Right now. If you buy this game, you're buying it with faith in the developer's promise to improve the game. I would love to see an updated review of this game six months down the line.

Re: Power Rangers: Battle For The Grid Arrives Next Week On Switch eShop

LightyKD

@Kriven if we got the Beetleborgs and VR Troopers in this game, my hype meter would go over the roof. The only thing annoying me about this game is the early release date. Things were set for April and now Im completely out of time to pre order and get Green Ranger v2. Oh well. Ill join in on the fun in April.

Re: Rumour: Switch Seen Running Android In The Wild

LightyKD

@retro_player_22 No. It's legit Android. I've been talking to the hacker that's working on this for the past week. Originally he was going to work on Android TV OS for the Switch but TV OS has a few issues so he settled with stock Android. I'm suggesting that he add the Leaback launcher as the default. That would at least create a compromise. We should see the final project within a month or two.

Re: Soulja Boy Forced To Pull Knock-Off Consoles, Website Now Redirects To Nintendo's 3DS Store

LightyKD

I hope he takes another crack at it. Actually the Fuze console would have been a great starting point had he

1) Nixed all the ROMs
2) Changed the UI with his branding
3) lower that damn price. 400 is horrible for a Tegra K1, we specially when I can get an X1 for 140-300 (Shield TV and Switch). At 99-129 it would have sold a lot better.

If the man dreams of starting his own console then let him try to achieve that dream. His problem was that he went about it the wrong way.

Re: Feature: Every Nintendo Console Ranked From Worst To Best

LightyKD

My personal list

1) Wii U (by default vs Wii due to backwards compatibility. Homebrew, emulation, media apps, and other features are taken into account for Wii and Wii U)

2) Wii (highest selling Nintendo home console, bringing the company back into the hearts and minds of the populace. Say what you will but until Switch came along, this is the height of Nintendo popularity since the SNES)

3) NES (single handedly saved the gaming industrsy back in the 80's)

4)3DS-New 3DS (same as Wii U)

5) Nintendo DS-DSi (best damn portable ever. It dared to take risks, creating new forms of play and allowing more people to game. So glad Nintendo killed the "Game Boy" name!)

6) Switch

7) GameCube

8) N64

9) SNES

10) GameBoy-Color

11) GameBoy Advanced (gonna have to break my rule with this one. Sure, it's backwards compatible but compared to GameBoy, most of it's games were forgettable.)

12) Virtual Boy

Re: Guide: Every Nintendo Console Ranked From Worst To Best

LightyKD

@sanderev better games is highly debatable

Galaxy 1&2
Xenoblade Chronicles
Dead Space Extraction
Conduit 1&2
House of the Dead Overkill
Sonic Colors
The Last Story
Sin & Punishment 2.....

I can keep going. Also, I see that many people replying to me are going on and on about YouTube. YouTube isn't the central focus of my argument, it's features. Quite frankly the Wii does more than the Switch. I'm not saying that the Switch is a bad console, I'm saying that compared to the Wii and Wii U, the Switch is a baren console. Final thing, people hating on the Wii Remote, I hope you guys do know that the Wii Classic Controller Pro does exists.

Re: Guide: Every Nintendo Console Ranked From Worst To Best

LightyKD

Sorry but the Switch is NOT better than the Wii. The Wii had a messaging system, Netflix, Amazon Video, Hulu, YouTube and a proper browser all on top of a amazing library of games. The Switch has a lot more work to do before getting to that point. Hell, you can't even use YouTube properly on a third party dock, when it comes to the Switch.

Re: Review: Gear.Club Unlimited 2 - Sluggish Controls Force This Real-World Racer Off The Track

LightyKD

For starters let me copy/paste my reddit post because it shows my major issue with this game

------- begin post -------

Am I the only one here having issues making tight corners in Gear Club Unlimited 2? In the first game, even with the lack of analog triggers, I could at least rely on my e-brake (Y) to help me make sharp turns. In this game it feels like my car isn't turning hard enough and sometimes when I try, I spin out. There is no happy medium. If I just ease off the accelerator I'm not slowing down fast enough. If I ease off then apply the brake I'm not braking fast enough. Lastly, if I ease off then apply the e-brake, a quick tap isn't good enough to drift and a moderate press is enough to make me spin out.

It also doesn't help that most of the damn tracks are a bunch of zig zags, forcing you to drift or suffer always being pushed behind. There is no nitrus in this game so you can't have a up and then quickly course correct and gain some ground. Once you have been knocked over by another car or lose your footing, you might as well push Plus and retry the race. I really want to like this game but this turning hurdle is enough to make me ignore this game until the online mode is released.

Anyone here have any suggestions for better turning? My damn Mini Cooper feels like I'm turning a tank :/

------ end post --------

I'm really hoping for a major patch to this game. The turning/drifting mechanics need some major tweaking. Other graphical enhancements need to be made. I would love to see higher detailed textures on the roads. When you're playing a racing game, your eyes are dead center of the screen which is mostly car and road. Asphalt 8 on its first release back in 2013 got this right and I was playing that game back then on a OUYA which is considerably weaker than the Switch. Some weather would be nice. Not all of the snow areas need to have falling snow but random snow and rain would be nice. There's a course that has a sky which looks like it's about to storm. Why not add some flashing behind the clouds to simulate lightning and some drizzle? In addition to the rain, puddles in the road would be nice. They don't have to be geometry. They could simply be pre rendered onto the road or a gif on top of the road. Just a little something to add some life to the environments. Lastly for the environments, moving water would be nice. Make it one big ass gif animation if you need to but the water needs to MOVE.

I see that NL had some complaints about the garage. I don't really mind the garage but I DO mind the garage workers. WHY add these poor excuse of character models?! Just patch them OUT! They add nothing to the experience and just look horrible. On the control side, I would like the option to swap the functionality X and Y. Hell, just add in full button mapping. It's quite shameful that some developers still refuse to add button mapping in their games in 2018. Overall Gear Club Unlimited 2 has a lot of potential, which is why I decided to support this dev team with my purchase. I just want to see some real improvement. People are all hyped on Grid and VRally 4 but VRally 4 looks half cartoony as if the dev team had no idea how to handle Switch and as for Grid, if I wanted portable Grid, I'd just play it on my Windows tablet. Quite frankly I don't want to support developer sloppy seconds. GCU2 was made for the Switch from the ground up and as an exclusive. That effort, even little, should be rewarded. Maybe not USD $50 rewarded but at least some level of a reward. I guess I'll just hope for some decent patches along the way.

Re: Rumour: SNK's Samurai Shodown Might Be Released On Switch In 2019

LightyKD

I would love to see this game come to Switch. Hopefully it has a play option similar to SNK Heroines (which I currently enjoy). Also I hope they learn a lesson from SNK heroines and include a season pass. SNK heroines (as much as I like it) is starting to feel like a rip by charging 4.99 USD for additional characters.
