@hirokun I like your idea but let's do a compromise. Some of you may be familiar with Power A's Switch controllers and know this but, the Power A pads feature a USB port. In order for the controllers to work, you have to plug the micro end of a USB cable to the controller and the standard end to the dock. Now if these GameCube controllers had the same setup, some enterprising company could just make wireless dongles for the dock with USB power pack/dongle connectors for the controller end. That way. Hori, Power A, PDP and smash tournaments get their wired controllers while other gamers get the option to unplug the cables and replace with wireless dongles.
@Francema we love it because it's nearly perfect! Every button has a different feel so there was never a reason to look down. A being the center with B, X,Y around the A button made things easier to navigate. Buttons aside, the overall shape of the GameCube controller forms well with the hands. It's the most comfortable controller of all time.
You could just take a yellow permanent marker and color the bottom of the stick, yellow. Just be super careful if you do it with the Mario or Link controller.
A bit disappointed that I can't bring my PC progress over to the Switch. I have it download but I think I'll wait till Hi-Rez makes a way to transfer progress. Either way, I can still play the game on the go. I also have Paladins on my Windows tablet so I'm good on the portable front!
Sorry about the double post but for people asking for a wireless variant, the best we could hope for is that Hori makes these controllers in the same way as Power A with a USB port on the controller. Maybe then we can get some battery pack/wireless adapter for the thing. Clunky, yes but it could work.
@BlueMage I have three ProCube controllers. I use them for PC gaming. That controller would be perfect if it had a slightly bigger D-Pad and some analog triggers. Aside from that, it's currently my "main squeeze" for gaming.
@Maulbert Inferior? This is the best controller design EVER! I even use this layout for PC gaming (via the Hyperkin ProCube). I never have to look down to see which button is which and it all molds perfectly with the hands.
@Rocky2418 Judging by my three other PowerA Switch controllers, I doubt these controllers will have HD Rumble and Gyro, I DO hope that these controllers at least have analog triggers for the eventual release of GameCube games on Switch.
@shani LMAO! Please tell me you're joking! The GameCube controller is the most comfortable controller of all time. The button placement is perfect. You never have to look down to figure out which controller your thumb is hovering over. I can just simply focus on the game and the controller feels like an extension of my hand. Natural!
@AlexOlney this controller is perfect for me! My main controller for PC gaming is the Hyperkin ProCube. Every time I hop back to gaming on my Switch I always struggle with the button placement. I adore the GameCube button setup. I had such a frustrating time with the quick time events in Telltale's Batman because I'm not used to having the A button in the position it's in on the Switch controller.
As for those of you fussing about the Z-buttons, remember that while ZL and ZR are triggers on standard Switch controllers that's not the case for the GameCube controller. Additionally, most developers can't be bothered to add a L,R/ZL,ZR swap option so having bigger bumpers will be nice compared to the tiny Z buttons usually found on a GameCube controller.

Really really hoping for analog triggers. Either way I'm getting these things!
