Many creators studios (especially but not
all nor exclusively Japanese) are on "the creator is right" mindset. You either like the creation or not, but to those it's morally terrible to edit the creation or play it differently than intended

And nuzlocke with references to Pokemon being killed in battle will make them highly chill in reference to the young audience, so TPC is very likely to overreact

@MaxiPareja Yeah I feel the same way. I've done those games (except Sonic CD) a good number of times from the Megadrive to the various previous ports.

Done story mode up to halfway of Sonic 3&K, and the only thing truly broken I've noticed is an issue with Tails getting stuck instead of respawning on Sonic 2. Most of this patch notes looks like no one but diehard fans would even notice.

@CoffeeWithGames The real rumour was a 4k output, not upgrade. That would only be used for some form of compatibility, the system, the occasional 2D games. People invented on top of that ***** like DLSS to try to explain it.

@Wavey84 Nintendo have a workforce of about 1/3 of Ubisoft. While having to handle hardware releases and support. Without external studios there would not be those games at all.

And you're pretty insulting naming them "2nd rate". Some of the best hits like Smash Bros or Luigi's Mansion 3 are outsourced to such studios.

@Meteoroid Samsung sells screens to Apple too, I don't see iOS running on the latest Galaxy phones. Such a software edge is not gonna be sold to partners.

@Meteoroid DLSS was a Christmas wish, used to justify for all those Pro dreamers the existence of 4k output. Anchored on zero real ground. Nivdia is not letting any other manufacturer having their hand on this, it's already a major selling point of GCs and their own cloud.

@Heavyarms55 As always the problem is taken backwards. Lack of diversity is actually a efficiency / merit problem. Due to prejudices, competent people are denied positions or expression of good ideas. Forcing a bit is the only way to see cultural changes in an organization. Left alone, the same practice are self-reproducing.

And here it is. About 6,500 people. That is not even half the estimated employee on bigger gaming companies like Ubisoft. And with a hardware branch to manage as well. I hope this makes people understand why Nintendo doesn't produce that many games a year and why somes licences are collecting dust.

@COVIDberry It was obviously a little harsh to make a point, but it has surprisingly a few common mechanics. Like how any counter-arguments are dismissed as "non-believer/fake fanboys", how opposing evidence/official rebuttal is flipped to make it say the opposite (just like how many, just on the comment here, pretend that a "software only" presentation is proof that a separate, unannounced hardware presentation will spawn by surprise), and how any time a date/event fail to match the prediction, a new one takes it place.

@Slowdive The only few reputable rumours are about the OLED screen. Staying in 720p. It's every sign of a basic refresh, mostly for supply reasons, not a pro version. All other stuff like more power, 4k, DLSS (the worst *****) is a Christmas wishlist !

There will be "an" upscaling but nowhere near as performant, nor using that specific PC-aimed brand

If they phase out the current model, then it's not even a Pro.
This is just a refresh, like the one with extended battery.

@RupeeClock Among Us is mostly a social game, most of the game mechanics is players speakings to each other. It's a lot easier to reproduce than Fall Guys

@Mogster This is most likely why Detective Pikachu was made first. It's a self contained story, much easier to make work in cinema tropes (no unfortunate implications of the main game / anime storyline of letting 10-years old explore the world alone). Testing waters before expanding the universe

@glaemay You're right, FF7 should have been on N64, but it was most likely technically impossible. The biggest possible cartrige was 64MB ; compare to 3x700MB disks. So they had to submit to Sony, unfortunately.

@abbyhitter I know you're joking, but Nintendo is just worth a mere billion more than Bethesda today. If anything the real difficulty is that Nintendo is publicly traded on stock market, making any takeover highly more expensive than the current worth.

@SwitchplayerJohn Everything is in short supply. It's a semi-conductors shortage. Basically almost any chips you see in a motherboard. Unless Nintendo's factory have a giant hidden stash, they won't avoid the issue.

@lokozar Nintendo is NEVER gonna 'up their game'... because why bother ? The goddamn Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, almost 4 years after its release (and its already a port !) is still in the top 10 games sold. Dozen if not hundred of major games releases later, a whole new generation of console and who is still on the top 10, the 4-years old karting game ! And that's a single game.

Also remember that they were shortages of the previous 'new' Switch model (the one in red packagings) as people upgraded to that... that only provided 1h additional battery life.

All those Switch Pro rumours are overhyped by people doing a Chrismas list. Not something Nintendo is at all required to do. If anything, maybe those Samsung OLED screens deal (if that's even a thing) were just cheaper than the current screens because B2B can be strange and it can be only a new refresh, with a blue packaging and something. And just because the screen is 'virtually' better (because 'OLED' - while it can be actually worse looking in lowdef) that will still sell out everywhere.

I almost trusted this one until the fake 4k output in docked.

For one more time ; Nintendo don't have the workforce nor the corporate culture to go back in all previous games and do graphical upgrades for all previous switch games. Just enabling 4k alone will make games look weird and go against Nintendo perfectionism. And cool stuff like DLSS are not a magic switch either, it requires training and a patch for the AI models for every game before being enabled.

A 4k Switch even with more power is nothing else than a new gen of console entirely
