Re: Former Metroid Prime Engineer Admits He Was "Disappointed" With The Wii's Specs

Kadosho

I have to be honest, I was not fond of the Wii. I passed on buying a Wii during release, because I did not like the Wiimote. Finding out Metroid Prime 3 exclusively used the Wiimote as it's controller.. was a a bit rough. I tried it at a demo kiosk. I wasn't.. sure about it, being so used to a regular controller.

Later I did find a used Wii, cleaned it up, found a few games. Found MPT.. it was a different experience. I tried to utilize the Wiimote best I could, but I just couldn't keep going it bugged me.

Also extra note: I did play Other M. Yikes.. i did not enjoy it at all.

Limitations.. honestly the Wii is a weird system. Just an upgraded GameCube, I totally agree with. If they allowed regular controllers as an alternative with MPT, and Other M, i might have enjoyed it more.

The Wii just wasn't for me
If MP and it's sequels do get re-released, I hope that they can utilize the pro controller, plus Joycons better than what the Wiimote was capable of back then.

Re: Metroid Dread's Producer Would Like To See Samus In Her Own Movie One Day

Kadosho

@AnnoyingFrenzy 100% agree, it would be awesome to see the Metroid universe grow thru Samus's perspective. Plus getting to connect with the Chozo (civilization, culture, and hierarchy). To the Space Pirates, how they came to be, and so many more characters / worlds to explore.

Metroid could very well lead a precedent, like Farscape did on SciFi many years ago

Re: Video: Metroid Dread TV Commercials Are Coming In Thick And Fast

Love the advertising for this game. No matter where you are in the world, Metroid is every where. Curious though, about that track in CM3. Wonder if it's tied to the game, or was made as a promo track, because those lyrics define Samus, and that rivalry of the Rebel Chozo.

October 8th is only a few days away. Let's go!!

Re: Feature: 30 Years Of Sonic The Hedgehog - The Many Faces Of Mario's Biggest Rival

Kadosho

Honestly I cannot pick just one chapter of the blue hedgehog, because I have been a fan since it began. To see the ups and downs he's been on, to rebound, excell, and surprise. Plus every soundtrack connects to us on another level.

Colors (+Ultimate) took chances to experiment, to see it remastered is amazing.
Mania, a masterpiece, a work of art.
Forces is an interesting chapter, it wanted to do so much, but a lot was missing, left to the cutting room floor. Curious what the next game will achieve. As a fan since 91' let's keep on going to find another adventure

Re: Nintendo Changed The Culture At Retro Studios Following Metroid Prime Crunch

Kadosho

This interview was fantastic. I always wondered how everything came together during the production of P1. To hear about Retro's journey, changes, shifts in how they work as a team. Imagine 20+ years later, they would be brought back to create a new chapter, in the series they helped evolve. However long it takes for Prime 4, it will be worth it.

Re: Feature: Artist Kamui Fujiwara Talks Terranigma Amid Drive To Resurrect Classic SNES RPG

Kadosho

I always wondered why here in the States, it was left out. This series is fascinating, never played, but heard about it in gaming magazines. Definitely a missed opportunity. But to hear the artist / character designer/ visual director wants to bring the series back. Totally would love to see it happen.

Bummer about the game director, shame they disappeared. Hopefully a reunion is possible.

If classics can return, it would be awesome to see.

Re: Metal Gear Creator Hideo Kojima Is "Afraid" Of A Future Without Physical Media

Kadosho

On the same level with Kojima. Thankful to have a physical library, it is there, and available any time. Since owning a PS4, and Switch, I have a mixed library of digital, and physical. Not all games are available everywhere. The thought of an all digital library.. makes me a bit uneasy.

Same goes with my film collection, I enjoy having titles accessible, without the need to always be online. It is scary, when finding out titles may leave a platform, in a limited window of time. Honestly I'm not a fan of subscribing to so many streaming services, it feels like an unwanted headache.

Hopefully there is a way we can keep physical media

Re: UK Charts: Zelda: Skyward Sword HD Settles For Second After A 74% Drop In Weekly Sales

Kadosho

Stateside here. Thankful I saved up, and picked up Skyward Sword HD. I didn't own a Wii, when it was first released, I was not too crazy about the Wiimote. I am close to 20 hours of time played, Fire Temple. Enjoying the journey thus far. Also obtained two posters as well for pre-ordering.
I enjoy both the motion, and button controls. Love the music, gameplay, visuals, and atmosphere. Happy to own my copy.

For those who pass on it, totally understandable, some feel it's too expensive for a port, or were not a fan of it. I feel it was a worthwhile purchase. I do agree, price was a bit steep, but it's the way Nintendo does things lately. But to have it in my gaming library, I am thankful.

Re: Talking Point: Can Metroid Dread Be The Franchise's 'Awakening'?

Kadosho

Metroid has always had a part of my heart. To the reveal of Samus, uncharted territory, and the unknown. Other M was "hit and miss" it tried too hard, it didn't really need the space opera drama. Prime was, and still is a masterpiece. Zero Mission, and Fusion pushed our buttons. The wait for Dread will be worth it. To see a series resurgence, is amazing, Metroid deserves it. And hopefully more entries in the series, no longer years of waiting for a new installment.

Note: I have not played Samus Returns on the 3DS because I never could find the handheld available. But what I heard about SR was fantastic. I did play the GB original years back from a friend's copy. Hopefully SR may receive a port on Switch. Same with Prime Trilogy. We definitely need access to the entire saga

Re: Sonic Colors: Ultimate Switch Trailer Removes 60fps Perk Of Original Video

Kadosho

@inenai I too am trying to process that price point for Skyward Sword, compared to Colors. Both remasters will have quality of life additions. Nintendo just has a thing for full price titles. With Sega offering a title at a lower cost, but still has promise. Wild to know both titles were released within the same time frame back on the Wii
