Ittle Dew, Nihilumbra, Scram Kitty and Assault Android Cactus are all Day 1 buys here. I backed Shovel Knight on Kickstarter, so that one comes before Day 1 for me!
"We've tried to make it happen multiple times ... But in the end, things just got messed up and we couldn't do stuff."
This is sorta my whole story with actually buying and playing their games. They look neat but they keep not showing up on Nintendo hardware, and then I just wind up not buying them.
I'm pretty upset about this as I would've bought this for sure on Wii U.
That said as noted in the article, Pac Man Vs. would be a lock for a Wii U port, so I'll keep an open mind and hope Namco is planning something else for Wii U.
Honestly, how is The World Ends With You not on this list?
The game I really wanted ported over is WarioWare DIY, which was brilliant. But only if they added a bunch of features to take advantage of Miiverse sharing. So yeah, maybe just a sequel then?
Got Spin the Bottle, Mighty Switch Force and Giana Sisters. Haven't played Spin the Bottle yet (I was at home alone, geez!) but the other two are pretty fun. I didn't have any of these games already so I'm sort of regretting not getting Mighty Switch Force on sale for $5 or whatever earlier. Oh well. KnapNok gets some extra cash from me.
@bofis Now you can get another game at a great price too!
@Kirk They only really need to have a controlling interest in the company — getting to 51% is the goal, not owning 100% of the company.
But that said I think they're working toward that, and given the state of the industry that's not a bad thing. Some activist investors just look at Nintendo and think of the money that can be made dumping all their IP on smartphones for a quick buck. Nintendo's stock was crazy overvalued just a few years ago but now it's a relative bargain.
@Tritonus Hard to tell from how Nintendo breaks it down, but judging by this — http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ir/pdf/2014/140129e.pdf — Nintendo sold all of 40,000 Wiis in Japan in 2013. I would assume a lot of the 1 million units sold were in emerging markets, places where the Wii is an affordable proposition and the Wii U just isn't going to be for a few more years.
Can the Internet drop this argument already? Maybe people aren't crazy about the gamepad — they're wrong and it's awesome — but nobody is not buying the Wii U because of the gamepad. Come ooooon.
Glad to see Gravity Badgers isn't in some dateless limbo. Seems kinda fun — depending on how they price it and reviews, I might jump.
Also kinda neat they're doing Unity and UDK at the same time and not settling for just one. It sounds like they're very different, although I'm a layman.
It looks to me like he's trying to make some sort of baddonkey cheering face. Is he succeeding? I suppose that's an intellectual argument.
This really is like some sort of Rorschach test, as a lot of people here are suddenly calling for the head of everyone at NoA. Perhaps you just see what you want to see.
@TwoTheNines Low-poly papercraft graphics are this generation's cell shading. That said I love the look. I've seen trailers but I don't have the game — what's the framerate like? I could see this game looking just gorgeous at 60 FPS.
1) I took a quick look at the game online and I love that sort of pencil crayon esthetic you've got going. Will the port stay true to that? I've never seen a game that looks like that.
2) Not 100% on the gameplay — could you share your standard elevator pitch with NintendoLife? Just a few words to get us frothing for the game.
This is good to hear. Very cool. Any chance anyone at NintendoLife is digging into what's going on with Wii U support for Monogame? Everyone seemed to be sharing the same story in October but I haven't heard a word about that since.
A six is fair, but if you loved the original you should definitely pick this up. If you're the type who likes Miiverse, there's a lot of fun in sharing the photos you picked with friends.
@unrandomsam I was speaking more about the graphics. Those aren't perfect in the literal sense either, but I wouldn't change one thing about them (or the music).
It looks like fun, but I wish he'd do something to make the graphics better — maybe just a little splash of colour. I can't see myself staring at that for hours.
I have bought 10 third-party retail releases on the Wii U and am really tired of hearing that I'm the reason third party companies won't develop for the system.
Any number of previous systems had serious issues before launch, and some developers had the guts to talk about their issues without hiding behind a cloak of anonymity.
Backed this and proud of the work that's been done. They're insistent on getting the game running right before giving the graphics a serious coat of polish. Guys, be a little patient on the look.
@BertoFlyingFox @ACK @thesilverbrick I hear you guys on the shooting — bear in mind this video is showing off that guns have been implemented into the game. This isn't meant to show off how the game will actually play. Go through the dev blog or the board and you'll see the guys making the game are even hesitant about putting in guns. By all accounts the game will be largely melee, with guns as a high risk/high reward option.
Awesome, although what Capcom games I'd even want to play right now I don't know. Monster Hunter 4, I guess, if and when that ever comes to Wii U in North America.
@64supermario Oooh, I take it back. Give us Power Stone ASAP.
@ejamer "I don't know why NoA doesn't want to offer CD soundtracks as prizes. They are cheap to produce and ship, and would be a great piece of swag for Club Nintendo members."
Seriously. I'd take this over Mario shoelaces any day. It's interesting: I now have three Zelda soundtracks Nintendo has given me for free, with the OoT 3D promotion, the Skyward Sword disc and the Majora's Mask OST. When do the other series get a little love?
@Genesaur You just pause a whole bunch. I don't know if it's anything more sophisticated than that. The bad news is now not only is this contest cancelled, but no other contests will be held, presumably. To give credit where it's due, the guy who first used the exploit admitted it and explained what it was in the contest. I don't think Nintendo or indieszero had any idea what was going on.
@turnmebackwards Hey, me too! What are the odds. I'm guessing you also picked it up on/just after Christmas.

Re: ReVeN's Kickstarter is Funded, With GamePad Features Available as a Stretch Goal
Power to them! I hope they don't get carried away with the stretch goals — they're already packed pretty tight, and this could easily pass $350,000

You can't improve on perfection, and that phone port doesn't even try.

Weak week for Wii U (although Cocoto looks decent) but there's no way I'd miss out on CHIBI ROBO
Re: Flavoured Cats Is Inspired By Super Mario 3D World, And Is Stalking Its Way To The Wii U
