Re: Sometimes Finding a Wii U to Buy Ain't Easy

Thanks everyone for posting, especially the many of you from Poland. Learning about Nintendo's presence in your countries is very enlightening for this Canadian.

I feel for you Europeans hoping Nintendo will step up localization. Given the state of the economy on the continent, I just don't see that as being their priority, at least not with the Wii U. Understandable, but certainly disappointing.

Re: Without iOS Support Nintendo "Doesn’t Reach Today’s Kids" Says Apple Advocate John Gruber

I'm 29 so I'm totally out of touch with what kids do, but I will say that every single kid I know of loves Super Mario, loves Pokemon, even those without any Nintendo console at home. So this is just a big steaming pile of bullplop from some idiot who hopes smearing Nintendo will somehow get Ocarina of Time on his iPhone. I wish people like this would stop but all the Dreamcast stuff is a clear sign it won't.

Re: Bethesda: The Time For Convincing Publishers And Developers To Support Wii U Is "Long Past"

I truly don't know what this guy is saying. I think it's that since they didn't develop for Nintendo platforms before, they won't now. Which I suppose is their right, but why the need for self-indulgence? Also, this guy is the VP of marketing. He doesn't make the games. Who cares what he says?

I mostly want to know why this story just won't die. People keep asking Bethesda why they aren't making games for Wii U as if they, at some point, had plans to. This isn't Capcom saying they aren't developing for Wii U.

Bought this because I was bored and really liked the GameCenter CX episode it's in. I loved it. It's definitely hard but a great experience.

If you like challenging, thoughtful games, don't hesitate to spend $5 on this one.

Re: Club Nintendo Japan Gets A Trio of Awesome T-Shirts

I'd get that Wonderful 101 shirt except I hate shirts with logos on the back. Something about people staring at my back just makes me antsy...

Pikmin one is pretty awesome though, although the odds of that crossing the Pacific are slim with the Japanese writing. Wouldn't stop me, though.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st August (Europe)

JustinH

Cloudberry Kingdom is a definite, second-it-hits-the-eShop purchase for me. I'm totally hyped.

If Harvest Moon drops on Thursday for North America, I'll definitely get it, although I got it on Wii so that's just a $1.50 purchase and sort of a no-doubter anyway.

Re: Strider Could Come To The Wii U eShop "If There's Demand For It"

JustinH

@CanisWolfred I'm not sure why you're all over @Pixel-Perfect, who can only buy or not buy a game as an individual. Maybe Capcom is making a good business decision, but perhaps not. Regardless, the consumer has every right to say "no sale." They should be honoured we spent our hard-earned money on their product, not the other way around.

Re: Preview: Rayman Legends

JustinH

I went from being cautiously interested in this game (before the delay) to furiously against buying it (after the delay) to mixed feelings (just after the challenge app) to burned out (a month after the challenge app) to just plain indifferent.

Putting this out in September is a dumb, dumb move. This game would've filled a gap so well throughout the first half of this year.

Re: Review: Metroid (Wii U eShop / NES)

@RR529 I entirely agree. The amount of grinding to get your life back to full in this game is just nuts, but the gamebreaking issue is the near-total lack of landmarks. In a game with as much back-tracking as this, it wrecks the experience.

It's slow but I'm making my way through it, and having a decent time. I use save states every now and then through the hallways, more than anything just to keep my head straight as to which rooms I have and haven't been through yet. I guess Phil thinks this is cheating but I don't dislike myself enough to spend most of my playtime grinding for health and fruitlessly searching the same rooms again and again.
