Ugh, I played the SNES one and thought it stunk. I've sort of lumped in every video game made in Europe for a couple decades with James Pond's level of — well, I'm saying too much now, aren't I.
Wow you people are being crazy negative about this game. If this were a Sudoku game people would be as bored and uninterested, but I wonder if they'd be so nasty.
Thanks everyone for posting, especially the many of you from Poland. Learning about Nintendo's presence in your countries is very enlightening for this Canadian.
I feel for you Europeans hoping Nintendo will step up localization. Given the state of the economy on the continent, I just don't see that as being their priority, at least not with the Wii U. Understandable, but certainly disappointing.
I'm 29 so I'm totally out of touch with what kids do, but I will say that every single kid I know of loves Super Mario, loves Pokemon, even those without any Nintendo console at home. So this is just a big steaming pile of bullplop from some idiot who hopes smearing Nintendo will somehow get Ocarina of Time on his iPhone. I wish people like this would stop but all the Dreamcast stuff is a clear sign it won't.
I truly don't know what this guy is saying. I think it's that since they didn't develop for Nintendo platforms before, they won't now. Which I suppose is their right, but why the need for self-indulgence? Also, this guy is the VP of marketing. He doesn't make the games. Who cares what he says?
I mostly want to know why this story just won't die. People keep asking Bethesda why they aren't making games for Wii U as if they, at some point, had plans to. This isn't Capcom saying they aren't developing for Wii U.
With all due respect this column sounds like someone making excuses for Ubisoft's refusal to spend any resources optimising games on Wii U. It sends its Wii U games off to get made in places like Shanghai and Budapest. I'm sure those are Ubisoft's top teams...
I've never been able to check the leaderboards without it crashing the system eventually. Obviously this patch is a must. I hope the add in Wii remote support too.
Good interview and great game. Wish there had maybe been a question about a Wii U patch, as it badly needs one. Accessing the leaderboards causes the console to crash, without fail.
@JaredJ That too. Wii remote control could and should be patched in.
Cloudberry Kingdom is a definite, second-it-hits-the-eShop purchase for me. I'm totally hyped.
If Harvest Moon drops on Thursday for North America, I'll definitely get it, although I got it on Wii so that's just a $1.50 purchase and sort of a no-doubter anyway.
So, guys, Cloudberry Kingdom, Ducktales Remastered and Pokemon Rumble U are all out in August, and EarthBound just dropped on Thursday. Even if you're like me and you only buy games on disc, there's still enough eShop-only stuff coming before Labour Day that $50 shouldn't be too big of a deal.
@CanisWolfred I'm not sure why you're all over @Pixel-Perfect, who can only buy or not buy a game as an individual. Maybe Capcom is making a good business decision, but perhaps not. Regardless, the consumer has every right to say "no sale." They should be honoured we spent our hard-earned money on their product, not the other way around.
I went from being cautiously interested in this game (before the delay) to furiously against buying it (after the delay) to mixed feelings (just after the challenge app) to burned out (a month after the challenge app) to just plain indifferent.
Putting this out in September is a dumb, dumb move. This game would've filled a gap so well throughout the first half of this year.
@Einherjar The dev has said he wants the series to work like the .Hack series in terms of releases. I suppose that's not everybody's thing of course, but the idea isn't to have it drip out like Walking Dead or anything.
@RR529 I entirely agree. The amount of grinding to get your life back to full in this game is just nuts, but the gamebreaking issue is the near-total lack of landmarks. In a game with as much back-tracking as this, it wrecks the experience.
It's slow but I'm making my way through it, and having a decent time. I use save states every now and then through the hallways, more than anything just to keep my head straight as to which rooms I have and haven't been through yet. I guess Phil thinks this is cheating but I don't dislike myself enough to spend most of my playtime grinding for health and fruitlessly searching the same rooms again and again.

Re: Nintendo Download: 12th September (North America)
@Senario Came here to say the same thing!
Re: Wii U Version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist Gets Patched Up
@gatorboi352 Quite literally mailed it in, as they outsourced it to China.
Re: Taiko: Drum Master Wii U Version Bringing the Beat to Japan in November
ARRRGH BRING THIS TO NORTH AMERICA I WANT IT
Re: Crowdfunding Campaign Launched for Licensed River City Ransom Sequel
I'd definitely get this on Wii U. Wii U, people!
Re: Leaked Ubisoft Games Confirmed, but Skipping Nintendo Platforms
Personally I'm not crying about any of these, but if Valiant Heart turns out good that would be the one I'd be sore about.
Ubisoft needs to stop doing dumb things like putting Liberation costumes into Wii U games but not give us the game. Why, Ubisoft?
Re: Developer Interview: Two Tribes Clarifies Toki Tori 2+ Details and Confirms Classics Coming to Wii U
@WaveBoy I don't think there's any chance that Mighty No. 9 hits shelves, as people can get it on KickStarter for $20.
With that said there are tons of eShop titles on the horizon... no interest in stuff like Hat in Time, Scram Kitty, Armikrog or any of those?
Re: Review: Spot the Differences: Party! (Wii U eShop)

Re: Nintendo Download: 5th September (North America)
Voted for Breath of Fire II, although I obviously also bought Recca.
Re: Super Castlevania IV Is Whipping The Japanese Wii U Virtual Console Next Week
An article for this and not for Legend of the Mystical Ninja? Clearly you and I have differing tastes in video games.
Re: Keiji Inafune Thanks Mighty No. 9 Backers in New Video
I'll put the cash down when the Wii U stretch goal is on the horizon. This project just looks better and better.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2013 - Autumn / Fall Edition
How can I pick just one?
Fine, SM3DW.
Re: Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams Dated for North America
Proooobably won't get it but someone could twist my arm. If they patched in off-TV sound, that'd certainly help the cause.
Re: Sonic Generations Hitting The North American 3DS eShop Next Week
Dug it on PS3 although supposedly the 3DS version is good but not great. Not that the PS3 version was perfect either...
The game certainly gives me grounds to be excited about Lost Worlds, though!
Re: Nintendo Download: 29th August (North America)
Wow, where's the poll love for Rumble?
I already got it.

Re: Review: Rayman Legends (Wii U)
Said it before and I'll say it again — my interest in this game in September is minimal.
Maybe I'll buy it when it inevitably hits $10 in some bargain bin.
Re: Review: Solomon's Key (3DS eShop / NES)
Bought this because I was bored and really liked the GameCenter CX episode it's in. I loved it. It's definitely hard but a great experience.
If you like challenging, thoughtful games, don't hesitate to spend $5 on this one.
Re: EA Executive Repeats That The Company is "Platform Agnostic", Cites "Tremendous Relationship" With Nintendo
They had a lot of changes at the top in the last few months. Maybe once the PS4 and the Xbox One drop they'll announce something good.
Not sure what they'd announce that I'd want to buy, but then I loved NFS Most Wanted U so there's a chance I'd be excited.
Re: Club Nintendo Japan Gets A Trio of Awesome T-Shirts
I'd get that Wonderful 101 shirt except I hate shirts with logos on the back. Something about people staring at my back just makes me antsy...
Pikmin one is pretty awesome though, although the odds of that crossing the Pacific are slim with the Japanese writing. Wouldn't stop me, though.
Re: Chibi-Robo! Let's Go, Photo! Rated In Australia
This game doesn't look to exciting, but I love the GameCube game enough to give it a shot anyway.
Re: Ludosity's Ittle Dew Was Pitched to Nintendo as a Zelda Game
I'm buying up this game noon ET the day it drops. Hurry up already!
Re: Review: Pokémon Rumble U (Wii U eShop)
The first one on Wii was cheap, mindless, stupid fun. I dug it and I'll definitely get this one too.
Re: Review: DuckTales: Remastered (Wii U eShop)
Great game and I really dig it, but the review would do well to note the lack of Wii remote support and the leaderboard crashing issues.

Re: Review: Harvest Moon (Wii U eShop / Super Nintendo)
Good review, but how you could let the laughably bad translation go without mention is beyond me...
Re: IGN Editor: If Wii U Doesn't Pick Up, Nintendo Should Look To New Hardware
Give up on the millions of people who bought the console less than a year after launch. Right.
And people wonder why games journalism has such a poor reputation...

Re: Retro Collection of Manga Titles Coming To 3DS in Japan
Dragon Power is one of the most frustrating games from my childhood, but hell, I'd buy it on 3DS, sure.

Atlus drumming up money to pay off creditors, or Nintendo preparing its fans for a new second-party studio? You decide!

Re: Video: Dakko Dakko Shows Off Scram Kitty and His Buddy on Rails
I'll probably get this... I suppose it depends on the release date and maybe reviews, but I'm definitely keeping my eye on this.
