Re: You Won't Be Able To Download L.A. Noire Without A MicroSD Card

ICISAZEL

@BionicDodo

I completely agree, but just because other do this, does not mean they have to.
You would like to think that as humans we strive to improve on what has come before.
Its a shame because i love my console, but ill be passing on Doom and LA Noir because i don't agree and this is the only way we may vote in this case.
I was looking forward to getting this, maybe ill see if they ever go on sale for a reasonable price down the line a download version.

Re: You Won't Be Able To Download L.A. Noire Without A MicroSD Card

ICISAZEL

Pre-order Cancelled
even EA managed to to get the whole game one a cart and it plays a good game of football.
Was looking for wad to this, but i will not support this half-physical BS, these games are not cheap anyway. they have lost my sale.

Its like they intend to make something that was once collectable worthless.

Nintendo need to work to get this sorted.

Re: You Can Now Pre-Load Super Mario Odyssey From The Switch eShop

ICISAZEL

@Rhaoulos indeed the pricing is pants for Digital generally, why the hell they cost more is anyone's guess, but this has been an issue for digital games across all formats for ages. Unless you go to an alternative store or wait for a sale, digital almost always seems to cost more. I have some Digital games in my collection, but this is limited mostly to games that have only been released digitally. With the one notable exception being Bomberman, which i have in both formats lol.
Maybe my dedication will convince Konami to gift us with PES / Castlevania / Metal Gear Solid

Re: Review: FIFA 18 (Switch)

ICISAZEL

@kobashi100
having owned both games, i feel that ultimately EA have delivered a more polished product that 2K this time around, hopefully they can do something do resolve the online play with friends, but im playing FIFA a good deal more than NBA2K18 currently, but 2K is still pretty fresh for me as i have purchased the SEMI PHYSICAL mess that they have been allow to release..

Will update if my view changes.
Id say that FIFA is well worth a go, a bit pricey, but i am having a great time in career mode so far.

Re: Sine Mora EX

ICISAZEL

I,M all in once again, £17.99 from Amazon with prime.
Amazon selling for £19.99 as opposed to £24.99 on e-shop, Nintendo will need to fix this at some point, no way i am ever going to pay more for Less, looking more and more like i will have an army of little carts

Re: Massive Nintendo Switch System Update - Version 4.0.0 - Adds Video Capture and More

ICISAZEL

They have also added a Current Offers Tab to the Eshop for games that are on Sale, it seems they are indeed listening to our cries.
I guess they should do a Demos Tab Next. Things are indeed Getting Better. Hopefully video will be back ported to work with more games, and we will get some streaming app support and native bluetooth headset support.

Small steps, but moving in a good direction.
Currently 20 games in and loving it mostly

Re: Downloading WWE 2K18 Requires 32GB Of MicroSD Storage Space

ICISAZEL

@Mikess1 100 % agree, kept my pre-order of NBA2K18 because i am weak, but this is becoming a real mess.
Its a sad time for gamers.
To make matters worse with NBA 2K18, they are not even consistent with what its doing data wise 3GB on system, and the 16.1GB on SD and i still need the cart in to PLAY, WTF is going on here is all i am saying.. This should be read as a reminder of how not to do things.

The only way i see this as being acceptable, is if a game came super compressed on a cart, and had to expand from there into sd storage, this chaos of having to download more data than exits on the cart is complete BS.
as much as i bemoan to say it, i feel that EA did a better Job with how they Launched their game this time around.
as for this 32GB madness !! HARD PASSS.

Im waiting to see how they handle SKYRIM and LA NOIR

Re: Downloading WWE 2K18 Requires 32GB Of MicroSD Storage Space

ICISAZEL

#Greedy, #optimised, # Hard Pass, its the beginning of sad times for gamers in general.
I recall the days days, games were available for as little as £2.50,
but i purchased said game and all of the game was included along with my purchase, there was no need to go an download the rest of the game that i had just purchased.

First we had the season pass, my first experience was with battlefield 3, followed by battlefield 4, but here it was optional.

I see the following issues with this approach,
1. if the total game size is below 32GB, then the whole game should be on a cart, i am tired of people crying poverty, when they are multi million dollar companies.
2. the industry has point blank lied to us about the cost of things being reduced when they moved over to cd's when the costs actually went up.
3. i am tired of digital games costing more than physical games, this makes 0 sense.
4. physical games and digital games costing the same, digital should be cheaper, with physical, you get a box and an actual cart that can later be resold, charging more withing the region of say £5 - 10 i feel would be acceptable as you can a, play quicker, b have the option to resell
5. why are some companies game saves larger than other companies complete games, i feel we are missing something here.
6. EA managed to get Fifa18 to fit on a single cart with cart with no download, and the save/patches is now approx 116MB

I will update you all on how NBA 2K18 Switch plays once i have had a go on it, and i was close to cancelling my pre-order, but as amazon are able to get this to me for what i feel is a reasonable price (Download issue not withstanding)

Re: Review: Sine Mora EX (Switch)

ICISAZEL

I was looking at getting this on digital, but Amazon have won my cash yet again, almost always have the best prices in town.
Plus if your a prime member you get extra cash off on preorders. Every little helps I guess .

Amazon also ran some money off vouchers a while back so I'm still waiting on like 4 more games after this one. In terms of pricing Steamworld dig 2 is well worth the asking price on the e-shop also.

Re: The Big NBA 2K18 Patch For Switch Is Finally Here

ICISAZEL

I was hoping that the wait for physical was too see if 32GB cart prices would drop so the whole game could be included on cart. We can but dream lol. FIFA by all accounts, as a single player offline experience is pretty good. I am having a really good time with FIFA. I have this on preorder with Amazon, so will most likely continue on to purchase.
Id say until you have played out, you can't really judge it.
To be honest simply getting this game on switch at the same time as the other console versions is a pretty big deal. Outside of the issues raised here, my biggest issue is the forced digital download for a game that is by no means cheap. I think it's a bit of a slap in the face to collectors, and in an ideal world simply should not be allowed. But I'm afraid I am well so will be all in to feel that 2k nostalgia on the go. Not played an nba2k game since 2k16 on pc. Plus I don't think I'll be hitting the micro trans modes so I should be ok there.
Will update all once I have given it a go.

Re: FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch Accounts for a Tiny Percentage of UK Launch Sales

ICISAZEL

overlook:
Pros:
plays really well
lots of options
good presentation
All of the game fits on the actual cartridge minus a 100mb day one download
(currently using 116mb on my system)

cons:
missing some modes
no friend matchmaking
price (expensive but most switch games are at this point with a few notable exceptions. EA knows they are the only football game in town so to speak and has priced accordingly)

i will attest that the single player experience is very good, not touched ultimate team yet, but keeps drawing me back in so far.

Re: FIFA 18 on Nintendo Switch Accounts for a Tiny Percentage of UK Launch Sales

ICISAZEL

had it on order for ages, but id did fall away on Amazon uk for a while there. Pre-ordered pretty early mind. Playing a good game of soccer so far, with only one change to the controls necessary for me.
Had to re-map long ball and shoot buttons as it felt a bit off for me. (super used to pro evo controls). did a womens cup and tournament so far. Now working through a player career using the Gunners.

Re: Review: FIFA 18 (Switch)

ICISAZEL

Always nice to have a quick game on mobile still exploring the game modes on offer. Gameplay is pretty slick, however I don't care what anyone says, as good as this gets I feel PES does football better and it a sad world we live in when people can get away with having an unfair monopoly on licences. Is this worth the money? I think so at the price I paid from Amazon 43.99 (Prime) however 54.99 is a bit much I feel. I'd say 39.99 is a better price. Until Konami pull the trigger this is the only choice football fans have so far and it plays a decent game of football. Will update once I have given it more time.

Re: SteamWorld Dig 2

ICISAZEL

Another great switch game, id say i'd you like Castlevania or Metroid (2D), give this a go. The game has a nice charm all of its own, and very reasonably priced from what i see so far.

Sooo many great games !!!!!!!

Re: Review: NBA 2K18 (Switch)

ICISAZEL

This is a poor showing, so first we find that PHYSICAL will not be completely urm PHYSICAL, which is a slap in the face to the consumer, as generally speaking switch games simply are more expensive for the most part, so what an extra 5 - 10 pounds would destroy sales, if they had put the whole game on cart 5GB save file would be manageable by ALL switch owners without needing an SD card.

Will have to see how quickly the path comes out, and how large that will end up making the game.
Id say this actually explains why we don't have a PHYSICAL release yet, they new this was broken ... and did not want to risk a cartridge recall.

For shame is all i am saying for shame.

Re: Here's How Much Data You'll Need To Download For NBA 2K18 On Switch

ICISAZEL

Just to be up front and honest, I have caved the hype train and the game does look beautiful in all the YouTube videos out there, I already had a physical copy on order, but I agree that it’s been a wonder to have multiple games ready to launch safely on the system.
The switch is fast becoming my go-to gaming system, I have been surviving solely- on PC for a long time now, having stepped away from consoles post PS3.
I believe that the developers look to have done a great job in bringing this game onto the switch, and I am in two minds on whether to cancel my pre-order because of how the storage is being handled with this title.
I think it’s a sad day for gaming when you can buy a PHYSICAL version of a game and it does not contain all the content on said medium. I think that Nintendo I have them set a bad precedent, but as a business I can understand why Nintendo halve made this call.
I am currently in the strange position of getting most my games PHYSICAL as they simply offer better value for money, which is a mad situation to be in.
I can get a game delivered to my door on day on release including delivery for a good amount LESS that it will cost on Nintendo's own E-shop, strange times.
I guess if maybe there was a portion of the game compressed on the PHYSICAL version and this had to be expanded onto SD storage I would take that, but me buying the PHYSICAL version and then having to go do download the rest, I call BS, GREED that's it.
The older I get the more I understand that this is often how the world works.
Additional a 5GB save file seems a little obscene to me, bigger than lot of my switch games that I have on the system.
I am currently already in possession of a 64GB SD card, but have a 128GB card on the way to be able to cope with my indulgences.
I am largely able to take the hit on this cost / apparently new status quo, but I feel sorry for the people who have been looking forward to this title, but now must rearrange their thinking, I know quite a few gamers who are without an SD card happily going the PHYSICAL route, I think that this choice is a disingenuous one.
I believe that issue is ultimately bad for gamers,
Ultimately, I guess we must wait and see what it is that people who buy the PHYSICAL version must download.
Happy Gaming All.

Re: Video: Digital Foundry Explores the 'Tech Showcase' of Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

ICISAZEL

Hats off to all involved for a great fun video that seduced me into a purchase, had second thoughts all the way through to actually putting this into my switch. I have since been rewarded with a very well crafted tutorial / intro that gets you familiar with the game mechanics in a very organic way. Well worth the £38 i paid. Lucky Amazon prime members had a chance at getting this for £35 with a recent voucher promo. Buy with confidence charming game. PS the only crashes i have had on switch so far have come from NBA playgrounds and fast RMX...

Re: Feature: Exploring The "Switch Tax" And Why Nintendo Was Right to Use Game Cards

ICISAZEL

Hello All Great discussion happening here, I think that we have 4 main areas of concern here:
1.
pricing on the eshop vs retail:
routinely I am able to purchase retails games including delivery costs for less than the digital version will cost, how is this acceptable, I’d say its barely acceptable for the games to be at the same price but when one considers this why is even this acceptable?

2. I think that when one buys a physical version of a game, the whole game should be on the media that it comes on.
Think about this imagine if you went to the store, purchased the latest movie of your choice got home to sit down popcorn in hand half way through the movie, now you must download the rest?
i call BS on this point, I think this is entirely anti- consumer,
if they expect to be able to do this, then they should be made to produce 3 versions of the game to give consumes and actual choice, as here they have no choice.

We have Physical, that is not physical and then we have digital.
I say we need to have a Physical version that is physical, even if it must cost a little more.

3. the storage that comes with the switch by default:
we have seen this with every new device that is launched by,
they will always go with the lowest amount of storage that is perceived to be acceptable. even if this only saves Nintendo say $2 per machine, this will amount to a significant amount of cash over the lifetime of the console.

Also, there is the recent storage price hike that we are currently in the midst of due to the chip shortage in the east.

Ultimately i believe that Nintendo had a fairly fixed budget for this launch, in concert with a specific retail price-point as a target and that this above all dictated the 32 GB memory

4. The second-hand games market,
i personally don't get why the games markers hate this so much,
if they want to be able to do this, then provide a centralised means for it to happen and then they can have the cut that they seem to believe they are obliged to.
I have personal experience in this side of the industry and while it don’t think it’s perfect, I believe that it helps gamers with not so much disposable income play more games.
Historically this has not been how the world has worked, people buy things, and then they sell them /trade they later as they choose to.
The gaming industries wish to kill this off I find is extremely anti-consumer.
I personally would have gone 100% digital, but simply cannot justify paying more for digital over physical as i think this is an insane situation to be in.
Overall I’m pretty happy with my switch experience so far, save for the fact that i think my 64GB micro SD needed to be 128GB to give more wiggle room.
As a final thought I’ll take us all back to the time when we were told that moving from cartridges RT CDS would bring down the cost of games, but in the end more profits trump's being a little generous to gamers. This is the nature of business...
I hand on my heart believe Switch tax is a thing simply because we continue to pay..
I am just fortunate enough to have enough cash to help fuel the greed machine, hopefully things will level out in the end.
Happy gaming all

Re: FAST RMX Version 1.3 Goes Live on 13th September

ICISAZEL

King_Johobo, I had an issue with the game freezing before, only this and NBA Playgrounds.
This was resolved by restarting my machine(power off and on again).
Kudos to the developers dropping more content for free will be watching to see what they do for their next full release..

Having great fun with this game, technically very good, one that can be used to show off the promise of the switch in my opinion.

Roll on September 13th

Re: FIFA 18 On Switch Runs At 60fps In Both Docked And Handheld Modes

ICISAZEL

i too have preferred PES over FIFA or a long time, however as this is the only football game in town, i am taking that day one gamble.
Hopefully this will fill my footie fix, maybe in 2018 Konami will see the light and get some PES action going.

Already £400 in for games for my switch,
looking forward to see what EA can bring us next, having a reasonable powered PC already , my Switch / PC combo will hopefully work out well for me in the long run.

What id be after next , PGA,NFL,NHL.
my cash is waiting EA...

Re: Here's Why Nintendo Switch Games Cost More Than Those For Other Consoles

ICISAZEL

Im sad to say that this is because people are greedy, end of they charge what they can, while its still hot, its a sad fact of the world we live in. extreme corporate greed is rife, i will never understand how they do not imagine that selling higher volumes as a lower average must be better.
And if they hate the second hand market as they seem to, this will only help more people buy brand new surely.

I personal think that £50 is too much for new releases , and £60 is obscene, id say that £39.99 is a better price.

it irks me that the we have so many digital versions of games costing more than the physical copies.

I do confess that i stumped up £48 for zelda from amazon on day one. but it saddens me that amazon is able to offer me a £2 discount where Nintendo themselves cannot, not even for a digital version. Why no physical version prices matches on the eshop?

Soo many questions that i am sure Nintendo will never answer.
A great concept beautiful execution of the docked vs undocked, but corporate greed is holding us back.

I am ever the optimist though so i can only hope.

Re: PES 2018 is Skipping Nintendo Switch, But Konami Will Consider Future Releases

ICISAZEL

Its a Sad time indeed that we got the super expensive bomberman R over PES. This reminds me of the time that they managed to release winning eleven 6 Final Evolution in Japan on Game Cube, but nothing for other markets. Was hands down the best football game on that system in my opinion. (3 copies imported)
The World has simple gone mad, my portable high res master league dreams will be waiting a little longer i guess.

To me its just a better Game, Even with the fake names etc.
Sad times. I will i think reluctantly have to purchase Fifa, but will try to wait to see if a digital deal materialises somewhere £60 is a bit rich for my blood.

We can but hope ... or perhaps brush up on our Japanese in preparation.
