Re: Opinion: What Did You Think Of Today's Nintendo Direct?

ICISAZEL

most interesting for me was the capcom fighting game collection, but im sure my enthusiasm will be dulled when i see the RRP.. Daemon X Machina is looking like it has great potential.

I wonder if we will get a vs fighting game from capcom, they are usually fun. Tatsunoko Vs Capcom 2 for the win

Re: NBA 2K19 - Effortlessly The Best Basketball Sim On Nintendo Switch

ICISAZEL

@blockfight realistically the download code versions vs physical versions of games should be cheaper anyway, the simple fact is that you get less full stop. but this practice has muddied the water.

That and the fact that 2k18 has been rendered completely unplayable without completing the full download.

Is there still a massive save file tied to system memory ?

Re: NBA 2K19 - Effortlessly The Best Basketball Sim On Nintendo Switch

ICISAZEL

@John_Deacon absolutely how small is the cart they used. they should be forced to rename this boll$$ a different name and charge a lower price for the inconvenience. what is the point of physical if you still have such a huge download. it renders the physical pointless. should be relabelled as download jumpstarter edition or something. 0 money from me Physical. When its £15 Digital i may think about a try but not before. realistically we should pass on these kinds of releases to send them a message.

Go Belgium take them to the cleaners.

Re: NBA 2K Playgrounds 2 Is Building Its Reputation With A Physical Switch Release

ICISAZEL

@Sinton lol, yeah last year we made a zillion dollars from micro-transactions but these switch carts are sooo expensive.

I know let the consumer pay twice!! once for half a game, then again for an SD. its not like the half a game on a cart was cheap anyhow.

Dishonourable practice all that participate in this fiasco will be punished in hell.

Ill not buy another physical game that ships like this.

i have Doom and 2K18 in a quest to save valuable SD space, but the publishers were like fcuk you and you space saving dreams.

Re: Space Harrier Is Joining The Sega AGES Line On Switch eShop

ICISAZEL

@Microjak he'll yeah day one if the price is right.
Also they have such a vast catalogue of great games, but insist on releasing the same ones over and over again.

Give me Sega rally 1-3, burning rangers, virtual fighter, virtual on, jet set radio. My wallet is ready and waiting.

Also I'd like fzero gx HD.. come on get this going fast rmx is good, but ot fzero GX good.

Re: Here's Why Nintendo Switch Games Cost More Than Those For Other Consoles

ICISAZEL

@Realnoize I am sorry, but I will have to agree to disagree.
A second hand game is not the same as a new one.

There are multiple factors at play here.
1. Digital games are not able to be sold, they would offer the only true one to one parity with new games

2. Games go out of print, if up to the publishers, consumers would have 0 hope of obtaining certain gaming experience.

3. The price of some used games vs new ones is crazy,
But because the publishers are so against this, there is no call to regulate the practice, they just want it gone, which I fell is shortsighted at best.

4. To myself at least once a game has been opened by someone other than myself, it has lost something, manuals may be gone, cases blemished / slightly broken, no new game smell etc. It may be something that is pretty intangible or not matter to some, but I am sure that this is true for many gamers, that something has been lost.

5. The warranty offered by the manufacturer would be void

I belive publishers desire to kill of this market is along the same lines as the media industries desire to kill off digital media in the beginning.

How the tables have turned, they now seek to use it as a means to punish consumers.

At many points in gaming history, consumers were sold on the dream that as the medium changed from cartridges to CD and dvd, that we would see prices become more reasonable.

Good old fashioned greed came a calling again.

I have personal experience with the beginning of the used games market en mass. Whilst working at a larger games retailer there was no guidance on price so we were initially buying at 50 - 60% and selling at 70 - 75 % of retail rrp.

This was working well for us, but the corporate bods got in the way and the rest is history

Re: Here's Why Nintendo Switch Games Cost More Than Those For Other Consoles

ICISAZEL

Piss poor situation, digital should always be less, a you cannot resell the product, this in itself is highly anti consumer, and should be frowned upon. It ultimately hurts gamers with less disposable income play newer games whilst trading in the old. Publishers distain for the used market is ridiculous, used markets exist in so many other retail sectors quite happily.

Imagine if car manufacturers start pulling this bs.
Our weak money grubbing governments are actively allowing big businesses to rip off their citizens. But like most things in this world greed wins almost every time. Little do people realise that lower average with higher overall sales is usually mathematically better in the long run.

I fear for the all digital future...

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Urges Game Developers To Embrace Subscription-Based Services

ICISAZEL

@Alber-san, as their is no other way to backup saves, charging for that feels shady, for what they are currently offering 20 quid is in my opinion expensive. They know that a lot of people will opt in for cloud saves alone. Additionally, from their wording it does not even look like cloud saves will be global across all games. We will have to wait and see I guess.

Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Urges Game Developers To Embrace Subscription-Based Services

ICISAZEL

@Alber-san online saves should be free. And if their coders were better you would have the option to use your own cloud storage to facilitate this cost. All of the multiplatform games are more expensive. Big publishers are expressing their greedy intentions and its filing me with sadness. Releasing half of a game physically is a piss poor plan... I do no believe that the carts are as expensive as the are leading us to believe. Good old fashioned greed on a mission to derail a fantastic solution to a modern gamer / parents time dilemmas.. At least I Have hollow knight for now..

Re: Sega Wanted To Impress Nintendo With F-Zero GX, Despite Losing The Hardware War

ICISAZEL

@JayJ this games hard as nails mantra, it's one of the many reasons that it's great, no pandering here. You want to beat me? You better bring your a game. Refreshing stuff in an age of auto aim etc. If they remade it as is it would likely be day one for me. Its a masterpiece in my opinion, proof if any that I think Sega should stop rinsing sonic so much and revisit some of their other titles.

Re: Tomb Raider Won’t Be Making The Switch Anytime Soon, According To Eidos Montreal

ICISAZEL

its a shame would be nice to have portable,
I think there is a huge market on switch for new parents.
Switch is good enough to make gaming as a new parent possible to sneak in here and there so the hobby can live on in the limited time available to a new family dynamic.

Alas, probably will not get my money this time then.

Overall i think that the first game was better than the second in the new ones.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct?

ICISAZEL

wasted opportunity id say, ill likely get it even though im not a huge smash fan, more into virtua fighter/dead or alive/soul calibur/ tekken/street fighter.

Id say Nintendo need to show us when other stuff is hitting, Smash was gonna sell buckets on its name alone.

Maybe Nintendo's big push is about gearing this up for esports .
Next ....
im personally more interested in Prime 4 and the new yoshi game lol ..

Re: SEGA's Latest Financial Report Reveals Slump In Sales

ICISAZEL

They have so mammy great ip that this is criminal. Look through back catalogue and start converting for switch.

There are still many genres open on switch that they could easily fill.

I agree they are trying to kill sonic too hard and don't seem to take enough time to give it enough polish to shine.

Come on sega:
Virtua fighter
Virtual on
Last bronx
Manx tt
Sega rally
Daytona usa
Scud race
Virtua tennis
Athlete kings
Winter heat
Panzer dragoon
Nights
Phantasy star online
Outrun
Yakuza

But we get sonic forces, for shame Sega for shame

Re: Rumour: Free-To-Play Switch Games Won't Be Impacted By Paid Online Service

ICISAZEL

I am generally against paid online, and the rampant cash grab that it is. It will be interesting to see what happens when they kill off net neutrality. So it will be
1. pay extra for fast internet
2. Pay for online gaming services
3. Pay ISP again not to throttle gaming packets

Big business is out to divide up the Internet for extra profit for unlimited Internet that they really should not be. Able to label as such.

My main beef with Nintendo is that they are holding their uses hostage for cloud save. But they know that will make the offering at least twice as appealing if the made cloud save free.

I guess 20 is not to bad, I just wonder when it will go up and by how much.

We shall see what the future holds I guess.

Re: Details Regarding Nintendo Switch Online Services Will Be Shared In May

ICISAZEL

@SmaggTheSmug

I believe that locking online play and cloud saves behind a paywall is morally wrong, but then this is business and they care not for such things. If people buy this for cloud saves others will likely follow in this anti consumer practice.

I would understand the hesitation to let users save to SD had the not released the hardware with the tegra bug intact. For shame Nintendo is all I am saying. What I would like to see is the ability to save to cloud for free, leveraging existing cloud storage, and then paid if you wish to use Nintendo's own storage. But alas we have not the IT know-how to secure assets apparently. Sad times.
