Re: Nintendo Is Now More Valuable Than Sony Thanks To Pokémon GO

HSuzumiyaVI

@-DEMISE- but it is honorable, they made the North American market, after Atari was sold to Commodore.
Nintendo saw the birth of a rivalry that jokingly continues to this day,
Nintendo got beat by a young upstart named Sony who went out to Arcade publishers and got them on the PlayStation, which injected casual gamers of all stripes, and championed the audio CD's dominance,
Microsoft saw Sony topple Nintendo the seat of modern video gaming, and released Xbox to temper Sony.
Nintendo will continue with making consoles, its a life line and its good to benefit from Mobile sales as well as 3DS.
this also looks good to existing investors. and improves morale.
now, Sony is not the young upstart they were... there is holes left after the death of the home arcade experience, and mech games as panzer dragoon and Omega Boost has fallen into obscurity. Liberation maiden and kid Icarus hold it up but star fox is needing to be unchained by SF64 and level 5 are ify on handhelds. (not sure if liberation maiden 2 is even in development) Sony hasn't returned to the magic PlayStation so if Nintendo pull either an Ultra NES, Nintendo 64 mk2, Game cube mk 2 or conjure up an Nintendo Play Station Sony will be in deep trouble, Nintendo can reinvent themselves and if they do any of those consoles, the PS4 and Neo will be in dire straits. so much so that not even a PS5 will handle the NX let alone the Scorpio... likely sell even 80-100 Million depending on the games NX has on the table... even more if mobile integration is successful...

Re: Nintendo Share Value Hits Highest Point in Over 5 Years and Breaks Volume Record

@outsider83 basically years of soul searching is finally bearing fruit... Nintendo going Nes makes me think of BOTW as well (considering every Zelda project since SS was to prepare Zelda team for the debut of BOTW.) plus, NES was where Nintendo built its empire... so it stands to reason that Nintendo is retooling the NX to stand for the past and the modern era of Nintendo... this is so exciting. much more than a Scorpio (any PC with a 9TF 1080 will tell you that.)

Re: T-Mobile US Joins the Pokémon GO Craze With Offer of A Year of Unlimited Data for the App

@KarolMcD I thought it was to stay "competitive" seeing as telcos are feeling the revolution of AR now...

those who embrace Pokémon GO will see short term gains and when GO is more stable, a long term lock in of profit.

Pokémon is the 2nd or maybe dethroning Mario now... largest franchise in the world.

2016 at least is more the year of Pokémon than Zelda (oh well.)
and TPCI are smart in their planning... Pokémon GO will be updated soon (trading and stability patches) at least the app isn't a sink hole like Miitomo but IS a time sink....

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's NES Classic Edition is Just One Way to Revolutionise the Virtual Console

@Robotron2084 its a piece of history, durable and very sleek (considering its size.) the whole idea makes sense considering the plug and play aspect, I have fallen by the wayside, my idea of Video games has been challenged and I finally understand why I want to go retro (while waiting for the NX)

Nintendo will make coinage and despite a limited run in Australia, Nintendo should provide both VC and consoles... but likely, this will be the thing going forward. they could make an OS and link it to the internet to make VC purchases separate from the main console business (Nintendo wants to avoid as much cannibalization of their VC offerings. )

Re: Talking Point: The Viral Reaction to Pokémon GO is a Surprise Gift for Nintendo

@Nintendofan83 60 million+ and what it does is ingenious
Pokémon GO is bare bones compared to the 3DS game, yes, but the 3DS game is a far cry from gen I, and brings in a new blueprint, how Pokémon GO works is it uses Pokémon in the same way the Pokémon games work. this generates interest in the IP and so bleeds into other media like TGC, Anime, Video Games, merchandising. don't forget, Pokémon GO hasn't hit global release and so, theres that factor... but don't forget, Pokémon's 20th Anniversary this means video games sales will jump because of the rapid success of Pokémon GO

Re: Nintendo Share Value Continues Rapid Ascent Amid Bold Estimates of Pokémon GO Revenues

HSuzumiyaVI

@Yorumi perhaps we need to look at AR like what Nintendo sees from AR... businesses as we speak are using the AR app to bolster their own economy... and this lends into a Macrocosm of users both existing in GO and Real Life basically it has become the second life of apps on mobile.

people are luring GO users using adverts and pokestops as well as lures.

this makes a solid a base of an economy circulating through GO.

@ricklongo AR isn't as much as a gimmick, its an "evolution" noted in many games study journals, from Silicon Valleys view, they saw AR "breaking out" who knew 3 weeks later when Pokémon GO launched, AR broke out, (like the Wii was for motion controls.)

the question is the impact AR will have on VR? I bet Sony wasn't expecting this.... Pokémon GO currently is no 1 world wide
