Hey thanks for sharing that old video! There were 4 games released on iOS almost 10 years ago but they really aren’t much more than an interactive book. The promise of a real game looks exciting!
@Damo it’s true! I’ve seen the show, all the episodes and the game is very very close to the source material. You couldn’t change things around, jack it and reissue it. The ending also has a copyrighted song in it. On the upside a new Wataru anime is coming soon!
@Damo @pika677 I do say in the video that when the N sound preceeds Pu (as well as some other characters) the M sound gets stronger so I get the point. Also some regions of japan have a sound closer to M but however the accent the same person would pronounce both written in Japanese ファミコン the same. 4 years of study is a great achievement as well!
@SpeedRunRocks yea he founded the US festival. He actually had so many side projects it’s hard to list them all. Wheels of Zeus, amateur aviation, Dancing with The Stars!
@MeloMan The best version is PS complete collection for PS2 and PS3 you can buy it form the JP store, but it has language options music options and difficulty changes. You can level up 8 times faster if you want! So you can enjy the story with no level grinding, hardly.
@marandahir The Mark III came out in Japan in 1985 and then the upgraded version of that was called the Master System, released in October 1987. Yes the carts were different shapes. The box for Phantasy Star says "For use with Mark III or Master System" The difference in Japan would be that putting the game into the JP Master System gave you much better sound, while in the Mark III it sounded as it did in the US/EU versions. That's because the US/EU Master system was put out before the sound upgrade was developed. Kind of confusing I know.
Thanks everyone for liking the story! When I moved to Japan the song Guts wrote was still popular and of course everyone does Guts Poses. I'm happy to share this little bit of info with you. Anyone celebrating next April?
@Gauchorino honestly no. I don't have any information about anything. but the theatre pictured screens films regularly. So there's a possibility of having other interesting works, but I don't know what they are.
@rjejr Ok I get where you are coming from. I research and submit articles the same as everyone else. Just trying to bring out as much news that isn't covered anywhere else yet.
@rjejr Yes, I'm a writer for the site. I often attach videos to stories but I've written some that don't as well. I admit I should comment more than I have been, but nobody beats Sligeach.
@LinktotheFuture @samuelvictor yes you can. If you push the sync or home button, it disconnects. the FC controllers are always wired in. I apologize for leaving that out.
@ns-cr thanks ! I'm glad you liked it. You still have about 7 months until the 30th anniversary of the game's release and event. So be sure to celebrate it again then and tell everyone about it.
As for the mask and the book, I found them by searching in Japanese junk stores and asking people who had family who might have gone. The search was not easy. The masks are actually made by an Italian company and were not made only for Yume Kojo, so there might be many of them out there in the world. The book is a different matter as they were sold to people who preordered them at Yume Kojo, which means they are very limited in number, and my copy was very very expensive. But I did include nearly every image from the book in the video and translate for page. If you follow me on twitter, you can see more items I have found.
The site also said that this was just a mock up so maybe it's a non working model and the last day to reserve was this Tuesday. No info on the mic for controller 2 but being hard wired gives me hope it'll work! There's also the front port to hopefully plug something in
One would assume that you've kept your Nintendo Powers in good shape since you were 15 or 16 when the comics were new. But if you didn't or weren't, then it's a good collection to pick up it seems
@Findonovan95 it's a mix of kids games and more serious arcade games like this one in the video. They also had Mario Kart, Transformers, Midnight Club, prize machines and photo booths. It's far from where tourists go though
It does compensate for no NX this year but I'm thinking this could be a version of the VC emulator that will be in the NX? If it's spot on, that'd be another selling point
@Markiemania95 there are actually two. One pikachu wears a cap and jacket with the words Tokyo station on it. The other has a cap and whistle but no jacket. If I remember correctly. Hope you enjoyed your trip!
@Seacliff when I recorded this it was 34C. The shows were 15-20 minutes long so I'm sure that's the maximum time someone went before a break. But yea, hot!
@LandOfZeldtir I can tell you that last year "train master pikachu" was one of the special monthly themed plush pikachu at Pokemom Centers In Japan. Look around the Internet you might find one!
There's lots of influences (or lifting) of a lot of game music. Earthbound and Elecman come to mind at first.
I tried once to tell people on miiverse that the stage start music from Donkey Kong was from an old old song called "cuando cuando cuando" which was used in 1970s tv commercials in Japan and was quite popular at the time. But nobody would listen to me!
I'm not going to get into what defines popular but for those of us 10 and up when the NES was new, I can say that everyone I know wanted it, but almost no one had it! Nintendo let it go out of print and moved on to other stuff. They did reissue it in 92 (?) which would mean there had to be enough demand for it to allow that
@samuelvictor thanks! I was surprised that no one else tried it. I guess it sold very few. Actually I'm torn whether to use it or keep it in mint condition
@DASchenk @samuelvictor I wrote the article and made the video. I've been reading your comments, especially Samuel, it's been a great discussion! DAS, the original DS or not locked but all 3DS models are locked. My guess is due to the eshop? But you know Nintendo doesn't talk much.
wow so small. still can't believe its happening. as a side note, this made news in Japan, with some tears as theres no Famicom mini, or any plan to sell the NES mini in Japan, so far.

@Gauchorino thanks! this place often shows other films, so who knows what else they've got preserved.
Re: A Lost Super Mario Anime Has Been Found and Shown Off in Japan
@Mario500 @aaronsullivan
I meant that it has never been shown on the internet before. That the only way anyone could see the footage was to watch the film in person.
