I agree, I found that a little annoying. It doesn't affect gameplay but it still would have been nice. I do think the game is worth the price, especially if you have people to play it with.
It has nothing to do with "SJWs" and everything to do with keeping the E rating that they've had for this game. People crying about social justice/political correctness are louder and more annoying than anything.
I know that the Sonic Adventure games are popular with fans, but man from what I've seen they're glitchy. Like, really glitchy. They were praised when they first released but if you go back and look at the scores for the re-releases the difference is severe. That's because, unlike 3D Mario games, Sonic Adventure hasn't aged well at all. It sucks because I really would like to love a Sonic game.
The thing is, Nintendo DOES have their games on the cartridge in full. Sure they have updates/patches, but I've never bought a first party Nintendo title and had to download part of the game because it didn't all fit on the cartridge/disc. We're seeing this problem with certain third party Switch games, that's all. I hate to say it, but people have to get used to it. Buying a third party game these days means that your physical copy mostly just gives you something to put on a shelf, you're still going to have to download part of it. Let's just be happy that Switch games aren't quite as bad about it as games on other consoles.
Nowadays even with a 1TB hard drive, you'll be lucky to fit ten AAA games on your PS4/Xbox One. Like, who asks for developers to make their games so complicated that they need to be over 100GB?! Certainly not me.
Yeah, I don't get it. I can understand people praising the characters, art design, and music of most of the games, but I haven't played a Sonic game that didn't either have mediocre level design or tons of glitches. Another problem is that they can't seem to stick with a certain type of Sonic game. They always experiment with different things instead of focusing on one design and improving upon it, like you said with Sonic Adventure. I don't think the original three were outright terrible, but I view Sonic games as more of a guilty pleasure kind of thing.
Edit: the 2D Sonic games would have greatly benefited by some kind of arrow pointing towards off screen hazards with some kind of measurement to let you know you're getting closer and closer, so you know when to jump even if you can't see them yet. Some fans argue that they made the level design cheap like that to encourage level replays, but I argue that I'm more likely to replay a game if the level design is good and not cheap in the first place.
My problem with Sonic is that the whole point is him going fast, but the games, especially the 2D ones, punish you for it. He controls awfully if you don't have momentum or speed and yet they have precise platforming sections in the levels like a Mario game that just don't feel very good. You're even punished for going at top speed with off-screen spikes and enemies that you run into since you can't see them coming. The 3D games are actually better in that regard but the problem is that they're not polished at all (at least the majority of them), and when you play them you have to wonder if the developers are trolling you or it's the first game they've ever made.
He/she kind of has a point when it comes to crossplay, though. Sony is definitely the farthest behind in that department and while it's cool that Fortnite is crossplay now, we still need Rocket League and other games.
So much of it is subtle, the story I mean. The little touches here and there were really cool, and I actually like that it isn't super action heavy. I'll probably start posting in the forums here soon and maybe we can talk about anime over there!
Yeah, I understand why they went with cartridges but at the same time you can only fit so much on 'em. So far the Switch has been mostly good about games being compressed or whatever well on the cartridges, it amazes me that Breath of the Wild can fit on a cartridge.
I mean compared to the 100gb plus games on PS4/Xbox One (hell, Black Ops 4 is getting a 50GB day one patch), this isn't that bad. Still isn't great though, but I blame this more on Ubisoft being cheap than anything. I'm still excited for the game though, and I bought a 400GB SD card because I go mostly digital.
It's good, right?! I'm just waiting for season 2, I recently bought an Elias Funko Pop from a night market and I have a t shirt with the characters. I don't often buy anime merch but it stood out to me and about three episodes in I fell in love with it!
Cobalt is a known Sony fanboy and is only dismissing this game because it's coming to the Switch. I don't know why you guys feed him.
I played the demo for one of the Yokai games on 3DS but I wasn't in love with the battle system. This one looks more engaging so I'll definitely check it out. I hope Pokemon 2019 looks this good.
Ah okay, there's the bias. You're working on a VR game so you need to blow it up and act like VR is the second coming of Jesus Christ. Gotcha. No further discussion needed.
Again, that's technology you aren't going to see for a while, and even when you do it'll be very expensive. I'm talking about the users who are going to waste away in a room because of VR instead of interacting with the real world.
That's fine, but people can disagree with you. No big first party games and very few AAA games use it (actually I only know if Skyrim and RE7 that do), and I don't see that changing for a few years. If they add it, it'll be a small little piece of side content. By the time it becomes the norm I'll have had kids for a few years and gaming won't even be my main hobby anymore.
Also, you're incredibly defensive of VR. You buy Oculus stock or something? Trying to put down and insult anyone who disagrees with you only makes you look bad here mate
Maybe I'm getting older, but the idea of people plugging themselves more and more into social media and technology worries me. The day that there's no option for traditional gaming, the day you HAVE to play games with a VR headset, is the day I quit playing new games. Optional, fine, but I'm not interested in avoiding reality to that degree. The fact that I can play my Switch next to my fiance while she watches a tv show, be able to also watch the show and talk to her, without slapping on a headset and avoiding everything else, is awesome and it's what I prefer. Videogames don't need to be that serious. I feel bad for the future morbidly obese VR addicts who sit in a chair all day with a helmet on.
Just goes to show how much Fortnite is making off of microtransactions alone, and how they could potentially make way more money off of an individual selling them bits and pieces of a game rather than a complete package. That being said, I can't be mad at Fortnite because it is free to play, it isn't pay to win, and there's no loot boxes (gambling). A lot of these $60 games coming out from Ubisoft/EA/Activision should either be free to play, or much cheaper.
I usually hate when good games plaster boobies all over the place just for the sake of it, but that lady is seriously the only appealing thing in this trailer aha
One thing I've noticed is that the soundtrack does NOT sound as good as I remember. The songs themselves are fun but the vocals are kinda weak. I guess I didn't pay as much attention to music back then aha
Haha, I mean I can see the appeal of having spirit monsters or whatever in these things, the tiger is what hooked me in the show and why I wanted the toys!
I can't believe this is still a thing. I had some of these and a toy arena to battle in when I was like ten, but now that I'm older I can't believe I ever thought these were cool. There was no strategy or anything to the toys, you just let 'em rip and hoped yours kept spinning longer than your opponent's. I know the Yugioh anime was just marketing for the cards, but I didn't really notice it until I watched the Beyblade cartoon.
Like patbacknitro said, this is an incredibly polished game and there are very few glitches despite it being so big. Assassin's Creed Odyssey on the other hand... That game is a dumpster fire with no ceiling to how much money they'll try to get out of you. Shameful.
I don't think anyone is surprised by CoD being up there. I just think this year is their greediest CoD yet and it's a shame. If the thing had a single player campaign and not so much monetization I might be interested, I actually really enjoyed the series up until Ghosts.
This list doesn't really mean anything in the grand scheme of things, Smash is my #1,Pokemon #2, and Taiko No Tatsujin #3.
It's a fine game, though it's pretty simple and repetitive, and I stopped playing after two days. Mobile games are just too simple. Hopefully they take the I.P and put it on actual systems.
Different strokes for different folks I guess. I always prioritise gameplay over graphics, and in this case it isn't even that big of a deal from what I've seen. Even if they had the same amount of input latency, being able to play Mega Man wherever I want is definitely the biggest draw when it comes to choosing versions.
RDR2 looks fantastic! I'm going to have to take a wait and see approach though, even singleplayer games aren't free from microtransactions these days and games like Assassin's Creed have me worried that RDR2 might be guilty of the same crime. If it's just in the online multiplayer I can forgive that, seeing as I won't play that anyway.

Yeah, people put way too much emphasis on framerate. This isn't a FPS/online competitive game, I don't understand why it's such a big deal.

I don't mind a locked 30FPS, and being able to play the game in handheld mode sets it apart from other versions.
