Re: Nintendo Outlines Key Goals to Ensure NX Success

Frank-The-Tank

Can you imagine if Nintendo's console was at least as powerful as Sony's and Microsoft's? It would get all the same 3rd party support (because porting would be so easy) and it would DESTROY in terms of exclusives. Noone can compete with Nintendo's exclusives. This is all you need to do in the console market; just be the best, whether by an inch or a mile. The ps4 is only slightly better than the Xbone, but that "slightly" is enough to make it your choice, so Sony dominates the generation. Imagine that, with Nintendo's exclusives. It would be a flawless victory.

Re: Delays With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Due to Physics Engine and Dual Release Decision

The gamepad is the best controller of all time. As long it's treated as an added convenience, rather than a central design element, it's absolutely brilliant. Asymmetric multiplayer, off-tv play, strategic enhancement and streamlining (Pikmin 3, Splatoon, Zelda maps), quick internet browsing, artpad & miiverse drawings. It's the perfect controller. The failure of the WiiU is in no way the fault of the gamepad. Nintendo would do well to keep it for the NX. I, for one, hope they do.

It's an up-res and a texture pack. And the lighting looks seriously worse. Look at around 3:00-3:05 how the light streams through the trees in the old games, but not in the remake. The lighting in the remake is awful by comparison. I thought the lighting really set the mood in twiLIGHT princess....
Also, notice at 9:20 how the water no longer reacts to Link? Yuck. So amateur.

Re: Eiji Aonuma on the Idea of Giving Link a Voice

Frank-The-Tank

People need to understand that the text in Zelda causes the player (and reader) to create their own images of the characters, just as people do when reading books. It actually draws the player's consciousness more completely into the world, and creates a deeper interaction. This is why they have it, it has nothing to do with old school and new school. It's not nintendo being 'behind the times', it's nintendo understanding the mind of a gamer. I hope to god I never hear voice acting in Zelda, ESPECIALLY for Link.

Re: Rumour: NX Set for 2016 Release With Nintendo Targeting 20 Million Shipped Units

Frank-The-Tank

So it'll be out of sync with the console cycle, Nintendo will again miss 3rd party games that go to Playstation and Xbox, and WiiU owners will get left in the dust without a single dedicated WiiU Zelda title for their support. If this happens I am done with Nintendo for good. They should be putting all their efforts into supporting their core audience that's stood by them with the WiiU, for the whole console term, instead of giving up and shafting them.

Re: Review: Vector Assault (Wii U eShop)

Frank-The-Tank

Another example of Nintendo's recent culture alienating longterm fans, who have stuck around with the assurance of a high quality that was always synonymous with Nintendo. The old Nintendo would never have supported such a cheap knock-off. This is almost counterfeit. And that music is properly offensive.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Attempts To Explain Why Zelda Wii U Wasn't At E3 2015

Frank-The-Tank

E3 isn't about practical awareness of near-term releases, it's about hype, about getting people to talk to each other excitedly about your system and its games. This excitement drives hardware sales, people wait till E3 to choose which console to buy. How can they not understand this?? And now nobody is talking excitedly about getting a WiiU. Are they just idiots?

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Attempts To Explain Why Zelda Wii U Wasn't At E3 2015

Frank-The-Tank

Reggie sounds like a politician, and not a good one at that. How does his point about only showcasing near-term games make sense when they showed Zelda LAST year, but not THIS year? And last year they expected it to be over a year away, that didn't matter, they showed us anyway. And we were happy regardless of the wait. The notion that they thought zelda fans would have been disappointed if they showed something rather than nothing... I just really cant understand this stupidity at all.

Re: Next Metroid Prime Home Console Title "Would Likely Now be on NX"

Frank-The-Tank

Sadly, Nintendo has lost me now. As a student who can only afford one console, it looks like I made a mistake sticking with Nintendo. The fact that they are willing to dedicate their resources to the likes of Mario Tennis and AC: Amiibo Festival but not Metroid Prime just seems to show that Nintendo is more interested in pushing out quick shovelware akin to the Wii days than catering to the it's longterm supporters, who are keeping them afloat with the WiiU. Ignoring your core franchises when you have essentially zero third-party support is just unfathomably stupid. Not to mention that core supporters who stuck with the WiiU are now getting a gimped lifetime due to Nintendos own incapacity to market their system. This is a cycle that I am not willing to be a part of anymore.
