I agree that Fusion is the best. People exaggerate the linearity. It's really not that more linear than others. In Super you still have to "go here and do that", there's just more guidance in Fusion. If you were to ignore the guidance and just think "I can open these doors now" a la Super, it wouldn't feel more linear. There's still plenty of freedom of exploration in Fusion even with the guidance. And it's important to note that there's a story reason for the guidance.
Can we please get an article describing the motion controls? Are they as good as wii sports? Is hook, slice, spin all controlled via your motion? Noone is writing about this!
@ThomasCasson Most people would just let friends use it for free or spread the cost equally so everyone pays the minimum. If you want to profit off your friends, go for it.
In the time it took Nintendo to release a few 30-year-old ROMs I've been able to play The Last of Us and Nioh (and more) with PS-plus. Yeah, I won't be coming back to Nintendo Online.
Oh and I'll take great pleasure in pirating the games. I've bought them multiple times before and Nintendo isn't offering anyway to play them legitimately now, so too bad for them.
@Scollurio I don't know what news you're reading, but your view of Australia is way off. I would reassess what you're reading. The general trend you describe sounds like something someone on an obscure right-wing internet forum would say.
@Scollurio Australia has had a deeply conservative government since 2013, so you're way off. It's the christian conservatives that want to censor video games. The "leftists" here actually support the video game industry.
I really wanted to pick the Golden Deer but I just found that the Black Eagles had the most interesting mix of characters. You've got your foreign princess (Petra), your creepy guy (Hubert), your aloof genius (Linhardt), your arrogant elite (Ferdinand), your shy girl (Bernadetta), your enthusiastic kid (Caspar), and your hippie (Dorothea). They're all really different and it's fun to watch that play out.
@KryptoKrunch It's free advertising because every YouTube channel that covers games (reviews, let's plays, discussions, theories) puts whatever game they cover into the mind of their viewers. So much of advertising is simply product awareness. When my favourite channel is talking about Shadow of the Colossus on ps4, I'm more likely to think "hey, I should get that game". So what if Nintendo has their own ads? The more exposure they get, the better.
A lot of my favourite YouTube channels (AngryJoeShow anyone?) straight-up refuse to cover Nintendo games because it's not a valuable use of their time. And, as a result, Nintendo is left out of the public discussion. This hurts Nintendo. It boggles the mind that Nintendo doesn't understand this.
I'm actually glad. It means more Zelda. We have to wait 4 years between console Zeldas, so this is good. If the Mario Kart 8 DLC is to go by, it should be exceptional. But pack #1 does currently sound like theft.
Well then, hey Thomas, how about not putting spoilers in the title? This info has huge story implications. I'm going to have to stop visiting NintendoLife altogether if you're happy putting spoilers on homepage titles.
Imagine if Nintendo left in the unique WiiU features and supported Switch's unique features. Both editions would be better, WiiU owners wouldn't get a gimped game and more people would be compelled to buy BOTH versions.
But no, Nintendo had to be morons and give everyone an equally worse experience.
@OorWullie @aaronsullivan
Of course he says those things. It's PR. Do you think he would ever say "yeah, we had to cut parts that took 5 years of work and the replacements we wrangled together in 8 months while developing for a second console just weren't quite as fleshed out." Of course not. He's doing PR.
Nintendo is ruthless in their pursuit of money. To think they pulled out core features after half a decade of development just so people would be less inclined to buy the WiiU version over the Switch. Astonishing. Aonuma must have been crushed, he had put more into this game than any other in Nintendo's history and they made him gimp it.

Better music. Some tracks are good but most are just obnoxious, bombastic and totally out of step with the mood of the story events.

Re: What Are Your Favourite Switch Online SNES And NES Games? Nintendo Wants To Know
It's sad watching Nintendo rave about 100+ crappy old games from last century (with 5 or so gems) compared to Microsoft and Sony's online offerings.

No thanks. The absence of EA is one of my favourite things about Nintendo consoles. Get kids addicted to gambling somewhere else.
