Re: Random: Drinks Company Hints At Undiscovered Super Mario Easter Egg

Falkor

Yeah, being from Michigan, I know Faygo well. They're a Detroit based company. Any gas station or convenience store, they're just as common as Coke or Pepsi. I remember these Mario promos. I would doubt that Nintendo would include an Easter Egg for a company as obscure as Faygo in one of their games. Think about it, what are the odds of there being ANY product placement in a Mario game, let alone something as obscure as Faygo? Very interesting though!

Re: Nintendo Lifts The Lid On Its Plans For E3 2014

Everyone's freaking out about this "Nintendo Digital Event." I think the fact that Nintendo didn't call it a "Nintendo Direct" speaks volumes. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a hybrid between a traditional press conference and a Direct.

Re: Nintendo Releases An Awesome Mario Kart Infographic

Falkor

Looking at the titles side by side like that, I actually prefer the older, more "cartoony" style of the first four games' titles. The sleek design of the new title is neat and all, but doesn't really feel like Mario to me. Maybe someday Nintendo will go back to that blocky/cartoon font for the title.

Re: The Link Between Worlds Poster Set is Back on Club Nintendo

@King47 Mario RPG is excellent, and well worth the 200 coins. It'd a bit easier/simpler than most Square RPGs, but is definitely not a "kiddie" game. Get it, you'll be glad you did.

Also, just ordered my Zelda posters a few minutes ago. Gonna put them in a frame and put them up in my game room!

Re: Nintendo Download: 20th February (North America)

Falkor

I just noticed today that Nintendo actually has Super Mario Bros. 3 listed on the North American Wii U virtual console, but it's like "shadowed" out and has an "available soon" message on it. What's the deal with that? Confusing, to say the least. Anyhow, nothing this week for me. Here's to hoping we get Super Mario 64 sometime soon on the Wii U virtual console!!!

Re: Nintendo Direct: Trailers Round-Up

Falkor

This Direct was awesome! I can't understand why so many people are complaining. It's like a bunch of rotten, spoiled little children. Nintendo gave us pretty much everything we had been asking for:
GBA games on VC
Release dates for MK8, Mario Golf, and Kirby
Metroid Fusion on VC
X footage
Bayonetta 2 footage
a few surprises (NES Remix 2, Little Mac)

Re: Wii U and 3DS Nintendo Direct Confirmed for 13th February

Falkor

Next Level Games tweeted to watch tomorrow for the Nintendo Direct. Do you think we will hear about a new project they are doing? Mario Strikers 3? New Punch Out? Or what about a Star Fox? They have said in the past that Nintendo keeps giving them "better and better IP's."

Re: Wii U and 3DS Nintendo Direct Confirmed for 13th February

Falkor

My expectations are low. I just have this feeling that we'll get a new character for MK8 and maybe a new boss for Donkey Kong or something. I hope I'm proven wrong. Here's hoping we'll get release dates for Bayonetta 2 and an update on X and Yarn Yoshi...but I'm not holding my breath.

Re: Feature: Breaking Down What Nintendo's QOL Platform Could Mean

"Beyond that, Google Glass is all the rage, for those that like the idea being "connected" all of the time — that seams like another step towards an Orwellian dystopia, with the NSA no doubt spying on your eyeballs, but we digress."

Couldn't have said it better myself, Thomas. Let's just hope that this new, unannounced Nintendo product isn't something along these lines.

Re: The Nikkei Reports Potential Nintendo Smartphone Strategy, to be Announced This Week

@gatorboi352
"Please explain to me how something like that is going to equate to higher 3DS/Wii U sales."

I think it's safe to say that there's a whole market of untapped Nintendo customers with the younger generation of kids playing games on mom and dad's smart phone. What if Nintendo did a tie-in with Angry Birds? (I know, it's out there, but it's just an example) If Nintendo can release a quality, addictive, yet simple game on a smart phone, lots of kids would play it and be begging mom and dad for the bigger, better Mario game on the Wii U.

Re: The Nikkei Reports Potential Nintendo Smartphone Strategy, to be Announced This Week

Falkor

It's about time Nintendo gets with the program and brings its advertising/marketing strategies into the 21st century (i.e. smart devices/social media). This is a good thing, imo. Nintendo isn't going to ditch making games for the WiiU or 3DS. It seems like this smart phone strategy will be a complete overhaul to its marketing. Imagine a Nintendo "app" that allows kids to play Mario minigames (like the ones on the old DS carts). At the same time, this app would tease upcoming Nintendo games and products. This article really isn't that far off...

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Struggles Bring a Challenge, Not Doom

Falkor

At the very least, Nintendo needs to release the entire Wii Virtual Console library onto the Wii U. And I agree with what @ajcismo said...every first party NES game NEEDS to be on the Virtual Console. There is no excuse for it. I remember when the Wii was still in development, a lot of gaming magazines called it a "Nintend-all." That was the idea...it would be capable of playing all first party Nintendo games through emulation. Unfortunately, this is not the case. The release of Earthbound, however, was a step in the right direction.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Struggles Bring a Challenge, Not Doom

Falkor

The lady and I bought our Wii U last night. We opted for the Mario/Luigi bundle with the two "New U" games packaged in. I have to say, we were both up FAR too late last night having a blast. I was deeply saddened and concerned to wake up to this news today. I sure hope Nintendo continues to see this console through and provide content for it...I would hate for my $300 investment to be dead on arrival.
