Re: Nintendo Has Sold 19.67 Million Switch Consoles To Date

Ensemen

@zool But do they actually take away new game slots? I'm pretty sure ports are done by other studios than those developing software. Don't quote me on that though.

And i don't think that the lack of new games is on nintendo, i'm pretty sure that they use all the capacities they have to make new games. I don't expect them pumping out masterpieces after the stellar last year.

And i still don't get how people can complain that there is nothing to play. There are tons of awesome games on the eshop that i still need to try and i game everyday.

Re: Nintendo Has Sold 19.67 Million Switch Consoles To Date

Ensemen

@zool It's almost like there were no new fantastic games for the switch... oh wait there are! I had a huge library on my wii u and only bought one game again for the switch (because the wii u disc had malfunctions). I still game regularly and had no problems finding new good games to play. My backlog is getting bigger and bigger in fact. So i see no reason why wii u ports should be a bad thing. And if someon decises to douple or triple-dip, that's on them and not nintendo.

Re: Paladins Is Now Available As A Free Download On Switch

Ensemen

@Spiders I don't see what's supposed to be the other disgusting business practices. I mean things like DLC's are limited so you can only spend a certain amount of money so there's no risk of people overspending. I think a good solution to this problem would to either sell a complete version without microtransactions or limit the maximum amount that can be spent per month or overall.

Re: Paladins Is Now Available As A Free Download On Switch

Ensemen

@Spiders Can't speak for everyone but the problem for me is that these games mostly survive because of "whales", people that can't control their spending. So there's basically one person paying the game for multiple other people. I mean i've never bought anything from a F2P game but that still leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces

Ensemen

@Moroboshi876 Sorry that i sounded harsh wasn't meant to be like that. I wasn't reffering to you with my original post i think most of your criticisms in your first posts were valid. My problem are people trashing the game just because they didn't like certain aspects (e.g. extremes). And the other thing is that how disappointed in a game you are depends on what ypur expectation were and that's on you so you shouldn't blame it on the developers.

And i don't know about the internet connevtion, i think it's really weird. Maybe reguonal differences?

Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces

Ensemen

@Moroboshi876 The reviews deemed it excellent? I mean nintendolife gave it a 8/10 and if you know nintendolife that sure doesn't mean the game is excellent. The metacritic score ils also around 75 i think so yeah half a point off of your score. I suggest looking at multiple sources.
And again i think this is on you. no one said it was gonna be the best tennis game ever.

So by what i've read from you, you're searching for a singleplayer experience and if that's the case i understand you're disappointed. But that's not what mario tennis is, i mean if i had no friends to play i would never have bought this game. the way i see it is the awesome mechanics and multiplayer are the main dish and the single player story being a fun little extra, like splatoon.

I think i got like two disconnects since i've bought the game so yeah it probably is you.

TL;DR: Don't follow the hype

Re: Fans Are Calling Out Nintendo And Camelot For "Lazy" Mario Tennis Aces

Ensemen

Why do people always have to jump to extremes? Either the game is excellent or their disappointed. I mean yeah these supposed glitches (maybe it's intentional who knows) and the lack of some options (match length and retry option) is dumb but do we have to drag down the whole game because of that?
I mean the core mechanics are awesome, pretty much everyone agrees on that and multiplayer is solid. I thought the singelplayer was pretty good i just don't get the people expecting more than a 5 hours campaign on a multiplayer focused game.
So yeah sure the game has some glarring issues but that doesn't make it a 'mess' or 'inacceptable'. And if you really think so maybe you should have kept your expectations realistic especially regarding storymode. I mean it has a story mode, lots of characters, varying courts and a solid online multiplayer. What more do you want?

Re: Review: Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy (Switch)

Ensemen

Stop with this "well xY did get a 8 but this one only a 7 so this site is clearly biased and their review scores are stupid". If you don't agree with their scores look for another reviewer that better suits your tastes but stop pretending like your opinion of the game is better and more accurate than anyone elses.

Re: Nintendo Is Banning Switch Game Cards To Combat Piracy, Potentially Killing The Second-Hand Market

Ensemen

@dystome Crippling the second hand market? are you actually serious?
The only thing they're stopping here is illegal copies of a game. This doesn't effect normal second hand games at all. This just means that retailers will have to check if the online services work before selling games. And i think there's a lot less illegal ones than normal. So please think about the topic and the consequences before commenting conspiracies.
And this goes to Nintendolife as well. I would really like some more Nintendo criticism of you from time to time, but you should really first think about what that actually means before posting stuff like this. And if this was just because of that sweet clickbait than well, even worse.

"Impossible to know if pre-owned games are safe"? How about checking if the online services work? And if you tell now that you can't check if the online services work if you buy it second hand, well you also can't check if the cartridge actually works.

Re: Poll: As "Gaming Disorder" Becomes A Thing, Is It Time To Assess How Much You Play?

Ensemen

I only recently saw the scope of my problem with videogames. It was around last march when breath of the wild released and i spent a few weeks only gaming and doing nothing else. Really had a lot of problems then but it was a wake up call for me. I still game a lot but i also work a lot now. I had to realise that for the 10 years i have been a gamer, gaming has seriously kept me from being productive and making the best of myself. However, i do think that partially because of games i am now really happy and enjoying life.
Extra credits also has a very good video on the topic on youtube.
So with all things in life, too much is never good. If you can strike a blanance between gaming and other things then game on. If you think other parts of your life suffer because of your gaming habits, then please reconsider your priorities. Trust me, it really changed my life for the better!
Have a nice day and happy gaming

Re: Octopath Traveler Won't Receive DLC According To The Game's Producer

Ensemen

@zool Yeah i would too rather have a completely new game than DLC. But i guess that if it wasn't for DLC the donkey kong expansion maybe wouldn't have been made at all. And then you got to ask yourself if a DLC pack significantly hinders development of a new gam or not. But that's just playing a game of "what if" and we will never know for sure. But even then then i think from what we've seen the DK DLC will have pretty good value for its prize. And if it doesn't i'll have to agree with you.

Re: Octopath Traveler Won't Receive DLC According To The Game's Producer

Ensemen

@Tarolusa Yeah but still. Wasn't echoes without the DLC a fully fledged game with similiar amount of content as the last ones? If yes (haven't played the game so i don't know) you payed full price for a full game, and you can download additional content for more money but you get a full base game for 60 bucks. If no, then sure that is a problem.

Re: Octopath Traveler Won't Receive DLC According To The Game's Producer

Ensemen

I really don't get the whole sentiment here of DLC being such a bad thing. If you like a game a lot and want more of it why shouldn't you have the possibility to get more? And the whole "DLC is content locked from the main game and sold seperately" thing doesn't really work with nintendo games. I mean was there a single game from nintendo that felt unfinished and was later added DLC? And people do realise that a development team has a lot of time between finishing the game and it actually releasing, so announcing DLC before launch isn't necesseraly content hold back. Feel free to reply if you disagree with my points.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's E3 2018 Went Big On Smash Bros. But Left Us Wanting More

Ensemen

Well i don't know they said the presentation will focus on 2018 and smash, and it did exactly that. Sure the presentation was pretty lackluster but that was to be expected after last years fantstic e3 from nintendo. They used all their staff last year to guarantee a successfull launch so a drought in 2018 had to be expected. i mean yeah nintedo is a huge company but even they don't have unlimited ressources as you might expect.
I feel happy for microsoft, sony, bethesda and ubisoft that they had such a great presentation even if i don't play on any other plattform besides nintendo's. I would feel bad for complaining now about nintendo after having the best gaming year of my life so yeah. Hope to see nintendo back with full force next year.

Re: Random: This Fan-Made KFC Fortnite Skin Is A Finger Lickin’ Nightmare

Ensemen

I don't want to sound like that typical Fortnite hater but please don't start spamming us with unneccessary articles like these. Yeah some people may find it interesting but aren't there fortnite forums for samll things like these? I really like your articles and how you keep your articles diverse. But for the love of god don't become like Ign, really liked that site but sine every second article is now about fortnite i can't watch it anymore. And for clarification i'm really not a Fortnite hater i actually quite like it but yeah. Hope you get my point.

Re: Nintendo Bans Online Services For Prominent Hacker's Switch Console

Ensemen

@SpaceboyScreams Nintendo doesn't owe us those things. I could also say that i want games for free but nintendo doesn't offer them so i am allowed to hack the system. I know that's an extreme example but just because you want it doesn't mean you're entitled to get it. And i mean if you want a console with cloud saves just buy another one, it's not like nintendo promised something and didn't deliver. you knew well what the switch can and can't when you bought it. Still think it's [removed] from nintendo that they don't offer cloud saves but yeah no reason to hack the switch

Re: The Virtual Console Isn't Coming To Switch, Nintendo Confirms

Ensemen

@FTPinkRabbit I get that people want to do that. But just because you can't do it doesn't mean you're entitled to get it for free. Yes you bought the game, but you bought it for a specific console and you got it for that console. If you want to play it again, boot up your old console. As simple as that. Not saying this is a good decision from nintendo

Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch

Ensemen

@Menchi187 aw come on it's always the same from those switch haters.
I mean yeah sure it is underpowered for a home console but it's not for a handheld console. But yeah next you're gonna tell me that the switch is in fact a homeconscole first and a hybrid second for whatever made up reason because you just can't admit that the switch is a great console and millions of people love it.

And of course the old gimmicks argument. Everything that is innovative and tries to do something different is a gimmick. How can you even say labo is a gimmick? Just because you don't like it? You do realize that this thing is made for kids huh?

The only point with some truth to it is the poor third party support. I'll give you that. But you do realize that all consoles do have shovelware and mobile ports?

Re: Video: Will Super Smash Bros. Switch Be a Port or a Brand New Game?

Ensemen

Even if it is a version 4.5, what's so bad about this? I mean if you go by the logic that splatoon 2 is just splatoon 1.5, wouldn't that mean that every new entry or a new franchise which doesn't change up the gameplay mechanics is a .5 version? Why stop there? isn't melee just an enhanced port of smash 64? new maps, new characters, new modes, new visuals. Isn't that exactly the same with splatoon 2 apart from that the leap in visuals isn't as big?
I really don't get where people are drawing the line here. If the new smash has new characters, new stages, new modes and better visuals it's a new game. And if you don't think so well then all of the entries after smash 64 are ports too
