Re: Hazelight Founder Josef Fares On EA: "Let's Be Honest, There's Not A Publisher In The World That Hasn't F****d Up"

ElRoberico

@axelhander Yeah, there's definitely a fine line between making games for the passion and making games for the money. All these billion-dollar companies care about it making the line move up, regardless of the circumstances that would keep it down. There are too many people in it for the money rather than the passion. Especially now in late-stage capitalism.

Re: Square Enix Teases More For Dragon Quest, NieR and Final Fantasy In 2026

I could see Nier Automata getting a "Next Gen Upgrade" more or less. I'd be shocked if DQ got anything substantial considering it's getting two releases within a few months. Maybe 12 gets announced? I'd ideally like to see 4-6 remade to fill the gap in.

That FF statement is so filled with buzzwords that I don't know what'd going on lmao

Re: Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora Probably Won't Come To Switch 2 Anytime Soon

ElRoberico

@DennisReynolds I was going to comment on something about them waiting for a more complete version, but you hit the nail on the head. It's a super dense game, and I completely forgot about how high the literal game ceiling is. I've been recently playing Horizon Forbidden West, a first party Sony game, and Avatar still manages to make flying truly feel like you're in the skies vs just hovering above the ground. Ubi did it a lot better on the same hardware.

Re: Mini Review: Atari 50: The Anniversary Celebration - The Namco Legendary Pack (Switch) - Another Brilliant Digital Eclipse DLC

ElRoberico

I know this is somewhat off topic, but if you're also a Pac-Maniac, I can't recommend Pac-Man: Birth of an Icon by Arjan Terpstra and Tim Lapetino. It's an incredible account of the creation of the video game and its spin-offs. It has a lot about the original arcade games and very early home ports, but if you're a fan of game history, it's so worth it.

And the weird promotional artwork, especially from the Atari versions, is incredible.

Re: Reggie Is "Surprised" We Haven't Seen More Xbox Titles On Switch 2

ElRoberico

@HingryHuppo I'm not saying it's right, but the business side of Nintendo truly has a strong corporate culture and the trauma that comes with it.

That corporate trauma is the same reason I think they haven't lowered the price of games for what it's worth. They are so desperate to never repeat the failures of the Wii U era that they make bad decisions for consumers.

Re: Nintendo's Black Friday Offers Include Deals On Switch 1 Games, amiibo, And More

ElRoberico

I am so, so happy about this selection. Currently, I have 15 Switch 1 games left on my wishlist. This will help me knock out 4! I've been really patient with Donkey Kong Country Returns HD and Princess Peach Showtime. I liked what I played, but not enough to pay full price (especially again for DKCR, even if I ADORE that game). I've also been meaning to get Echoes of Wisdom and Paper Mario, so this'll sweeten those deals. I do regret not getting Mario Party Superstars when it was on sale a few years ago, but here's hoping it'll be part of the MAR10 Day sale.

Re: Two Point Museum Goes Wild With The 'Zooseum' DLC Expansion This Winter

ElRoberico

How in-depth of a management sim are the Two Point games? I tried Planet Zoo, and I wanted to love it so, so much, but it was just too complicated for what I wanted in a zoo builder game. Jurassic World Evolution is a bit better, but I'd prefer animals over dinos (And honestly, Jurassic Park over World, but that's a different conversation).

Are there any other ones that are simple/cozy?
