A staunch defense here but you have two kinds of rom site. Those who do it for profit and those who do it to archive. Do the right thing and go to someone doing this for the love of the games. Not someone trying to line their pockets. Vimm's Lair is my pick.

Lol super obscure for me. An old xbox arcade game that was out when I was at uni. Hardcore Uprising. Basically the first 3 or 4 levels.

@victordamazio exactly. There are so many people out there, especially in their late 20s,30 and beyond who have gamed on PC in the past. People who have had that interest and just kind of moved out towards more casual experiences. There are huge numbers of those previously more hardcore gamers. The switch imho has capitalised on attracting that segment. Most especially in the lockdown boom. Globally, over the time its existed, Steam is absolutely massive. A huge percentage of gamers will have dabbled at some point and already have very large libraries of awesome games ready to play.

And if that's not you? If you don't have a steam library then it's famously easy to amass a very large one cheaply. For those who only play Nintendo or other home consoles... Humble bundle will blow your mind. Like game pass but games to own. Great ones to boot. And talking about gamepass if it plays gamepass then it's an even more appealing prospect. it may be a lot more popular than some people think. You're appealing to a huge section of the switch base that are just here because it's a ninetendo console that doesn't completely suck. But let's be honest it does suck just a little bit. I mean when you boot up the proper version of the game you've been trying to play on switch the difference between them is frequently a complete mindblower. It's not unpopular. Massive threat that will be discussed frequently and passionately in both board rooms.

Lol. Yeah honestly if it lives up to my fairly basic expectations and it doesn't feel like holding a hot iron switch is pretty much dead to me apart from Nintendo exclusives. And damn right I'll be installing an N64 emulator. The switch is good for playing third parties on the go but let's be honest corners need cutting and more often than not it isn't pretty.

The steam deck is a massive announcement. Absolutely huge. Should in all reasonable logic be the grim reaper for switch for anything except Nintendo 1st party. But I think the Switch will shrug it off in the end. I'll definitely be getting one though without doubt. Such an awesome looking handheld.

@blindsquarel really? Half the indys and a whole lot more that people rave about on here have been free on game pass. Only I'd much rather play the indy stuff handheld.

Ah man. When I was like 13 my mum made me give it away to a foster kid. She said I didn't need it because I got the OG Xbox. In some ways I'm glad to have helped someone out who didn't have anything. In others I'm still really peed off with her!

There's a decent version in most arcades atm you can try out. Was playing it a bit then I found an old Sega rally machine in good nick with CRTs and everything. Sorry cruis'n! Game over...

Very poor. No feedback being taken by Nintendo. Remasters. Ports. Skant use of IP folk have been clamoring for. I just don't get why anyone thinks this would be a knockout punch? Compared to Microsofts presentation it was terrible. No other way to frame it.

Lol I suspect it's this is why so many gamers have such fond memories of local multiplayer. As I lived without a console to my later teens mine were almost universally bad!

@Varkster really? I found an old copy on my xbox and booted it up having been really into it on switch. It ruined my game. The switch port sucks. Play it elsewhere if at all possible.

Nintendo suck. Roms sell switches. Premium accounts were a huge mistake though lol.

Hmm depends on the game but so much filler in most of them that I can't drudge my way through. Something like dragon age or mass effect would be top of the pile. Maybe when 10-15 years have gone by but even with the slew of remakes which include some of some of my childhood favourites I rarely get that far into them before I remember everything and it gets boring.

Hell yes! Switch just keeps Dissapointing. Nintendo are becoming fat and lazy as they always do when they sniff success. And what normally happens? A newcomer sneaks up behind them and pulls their trousers down. Nintendo have a long and turbulent history.. And learn northing.

Such a shame but at this point I don't see it happening. Nintendo only care about numbers. So many hidden gems in Nintendos history. Not so much for this generation I think. Just Mario and zelda.

Got to be 3+4. We kind of knew it would happen with the success they've had with the first two. Best games ever! Bring it on.

Very good game so far. Little frustrating finding blueprints. Wish there was a better way for unlocking tech tree but still really really good.

Subnautica is awesome. Playing a lot of that.

Would be nice if it were complimented by another popular Nintendo fan favourite racer. No need for MK9 right now. But would be nice to see a bit more variety.

Looks terrible to me. Doubt the vast majority of gamers could pick more than three off of that list. I'll bet the reality is that lots of switches are gathering dust. Not what you want all these new players to remember when Nintendo release a new console. History repeats itself.

It's a great port but I wonder how much people who didn't experience the originals will enjoy it. The physics and gameplay are very accurate to the originals. Which IMHO means it won't make much sense to gamers who didn't grow up with the series. Could be wrong!

I don't. I would never play them. I think if most collectors were honest they don't either. If my experiments with emulators are anything to go by I can have unlimited access to all my childhood memories and still can't find anything I want to play for more than 5 mins.

I think at this point given the evidence it's not hurting indie developers and that they in fact they're thriving off it you'd be a complete moron to have a negative stance on gamepass. Yeah switch for life blah blah blah. It's a great deal with a lot of nice surprises.

I think it would be great if Nintendo made more stuff playable on the switch and its sad they don't. Definitely a head scratcher when they pull a move like this. The switch could be so much more than it is for older Nintendo fans and draw gamers away from the emulators/roms. I get the argument that they're big company they only care about money blah blah blah. Very clever. I hear you. I just don't understand some of these moves. Very short term thinking IMHO that leaves a bad taste and it doesn't sell consoles. Instead they leave a big gap to be filled by Chinese pirate consoles which BTW are getting fairly sophisticated.

Is it a problem though or is it just something we get wise to and start filtering as we get older/more mature? I remember the same feelings for Perfect Dark and Zelda MM on N64 back in the day. Waited in line for hours to get both. The latter I never really got into and the cart collected a lot of dust. I feel like people getting annoyed about industry hype just love to sit on a high horse tbh.

The backlash against 4k is crazy to me. Why wouldn't you want it? I truly don't understand. I feel its just that a large portion of switch owners, particularly the sort that don't play anything else, have built up a defensive reflex against it. 4k Mario kart? Yes please! Playing on my phone and loving it. I would not like to use the switches touchscreen to do the route drawing tbh and I don't see how analogue sticks would help so recommend buying it there instead.

What they forget is the kids and teens have all grown up and still remember the best games they ever played.

Played it on xbox game pass with my son today. Quite a surprise how good it is. Defs agree with the review and reccomend. Controls really well.
