Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Has Leaked And Is Fully Playable On The Steam Deck

Dragonstar

As a proud owner of a Steam Deck, that has loaded it up with many emulators and such, this is great news to see. I have no interest in Xenoblade Chronicles or I might check it out. I've retired my Switch. I'm playing games portably now such as God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Metal Gear Solid 5, Final Fantasy VII Remake, etc. Nintendo will NEVER get triple A titles like these on their platforms, but now I get the best of both worlds on one portable system. Love the Steam Deck.

Re: Reggie: Nintendo's Transition From Switch Will Be A "Significant Challenge"

Dragonstar

I've already moved on, got my Steam Deck about 6-8 weeks ago, haven't touched my Switch since. And I used to play that thing every single day, minimum 3-5 hours a day. Easily put in thousands of hours on my Switch. Enter the Gungeon alone has a play time of over 900 hours for me. But the sheer amount of games available to me now that aren't on the Switch is enormous. Already played and finished Horizon Zero Dawn, Metal Gear Solid 5 and now Sekiro and Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order. It's amazing to play these high quality triple A games portably (and it's soo much more comfortable than the Switch as well for me).

Re: Feature: Handheld Face-Off - Nintendo Switch OLED Model Vs Steam Deck

Dragonstar

Already retired my Switch for my Steam Deck. Haven't touched my Switch once since I got my Deck about a month ago. Absolutely ZERO comparison between the two now-a-days. I can play all the new AAA games that the Switch can't handle (which means pretty much all of them). The indie game library dwarfs the Switch, The emulation... oh sweet lord almighty the emulation the Steam Deck can do. Playing even Wii U games on this system is flawless. Windwaker HD, Twilight Princess HD, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Kart 8, got em all on my Deck now. Finished Horizon Zero Dawn already 100% on the Deck, now finally getting around to Batman Arkham Knight. God of War, Elden Ring, the list goes on. Can also use it like a PC, I can go into Desktop mode, install mods, browse the internet, and yes... even pirating games is a piece of cake on this thing.

Re: Talking Point: How's Your Switch Holding Up After 5 Years?

Dragonstar

replaced joy-con sticks on both sides easily 6-7 times each. When playing handheld (which is 100% of the time) the right joy-con, even when physically attached, keeps losing connection in the middle of playing. I CAN NOT WAIT for my Steam Deck to get here so I can retire this thing. I've refused to buy any game for this system since December of 2020 because of all the problems. I find others ways to play games on it now.

Re: Random: Here's The Nintendo Switch-Like Steam Deck Compared To Some Other Stuff

Dragonstar

I don't care how big it is, I just want to replace my Switch. I'm tired of all the problems I've had with this system, from the never-ending joy-con drift, regardless of how many fixes I do, to the controllers constantly losing connection mid-game, even when physically attached. Also tired of how many triple A games the Switch doesn't get. I want to retire my Switch as my portable system.

Re: Konami Is Committed To NFTs In Order To Preserve Beloved Content As "Commemorative Art"

Dragonstar

Why can't people here understand, that no one is forcing you to buy these things? There is NOTHING wrong with a company putting things up for sale, and letting people decide for themselves if they want to buy it or not. Companies have a responsibility to their shareholders to make their company as profitable as they can. Choice is a real thing you entitled millennials. Just because YOU don't like something, it doesn't mean it shouldn't be offered for sale to others.

Re: Troy Baker Partners With NFT Firm, Asks If Fans Want To "Hate" Or "Create"

Dragonstar

If you don't like NFT's, then don't buy them. Other than that, let people try to become successful/make money in this world and STFU. I've never once paid for any micro-transaction, in-game skin, you name it. No interest in that garbage whatsoever, but I don't go out of my way to try to stop others from offering it. Everyone wants to make money, to support themselves, their families, whatever. Stop being petty and trying to block a way for others to do so.

Re: Square Enix President Knows You Hate NFTs Because You "Play To Have Fun"

Dragonstar

NFT's are coming, regardless of how mad you are about it. The possible money that could come from NFT's to companies will outweigh any outrage from a certain group of fans. At the end of the day, most of these companies are publicly traded, and they have a responsibility to their shareholders to make as much money as they can. NFT's are the future of triple A games, it's coming, guaranteed. Get used to it.

Re: Scalpers Are Already Reselling Analogue Pocket Systems For Insane Prices Online

Dragonstar

Good for them, if the demand is there, and the supply isn't, take advantage of people who are willing to pay for it. It's the world we live in, learn to accept it. In a perfect world, the manufacturer would just increase supply to sell it directly to the customers to make the money themselves, but for many reasons they can't. Scalping sucks, but it's the way things go.

Re: Surprise! Nintendo Has Added A 'Most Played' Section To The Switch eShop

Dragonstar

The Eshop is still by far the WORST online storefront I can think of. The fact that in 2021, almost 2022 it's so far behind the industry standards out there is embarrassing. It's ridiculously slow, no reviews, no recommendations, the genres need far more selection. I could go on and on. Get better Nintendo, you make record profits, you're worth billions of dollars. This is what they come up with?

Re: Talking Point: How Many Hours Is A 'Short' Game For You?

Dragonstar

It's an excellent game, but not worth the full $80 (CAD). When I compare it to a game like Hollow Knight, which costs under $15, I got well over 80 hours of playtime in that game doing all the extra boss fights. Hollow Knight is the gold standard now of how I compare games for value, and most don't hold up. Especially not this one. I'm glad I'm able to get my money back for Metroid Dread. Not worth the full price.

Re: Nintendo Says It's Continuously Working On Improving The Switch Joy-Con

Dragonstar

The Joy-con is the reason I stopped buying all games for the Switch as of last December. I'm so sick of the constant problems I have with them. The joy-con drift is a constant thing, regardless of w/e fix a person does, it always comes back. Even with brand new sticks, paper trick, take the sticks apart completely to clean contacts, 4-6 months later they start drifting, fix, repeat. But drift aside, the constant disconnection problems, even in handheld mode, when the joy-cons are physically attached, is beyond aggravating. I DESPISE the joy-cons. FU Nintendo for designing these things like this. I can't wait to replace the Switch with the Steam Deck as my portable system this December/January.
