@NEStalgia thankfully they have put a lot of advertising time into zelda and showing how big the game world is and how you can play it on the move. The motion control games are there but are taking a backseat mostly.

@NEStalgia what's truly impressive is the amount of cash Nintendo made with the Wii. It's staggering and I thought it was an average console.

Mario kart 8 deluxe is a system seller in my eyes. People who skipped the Wii U may not have even seen it before (casuals) and think that Mario kart alone is enough to buy a switch. That and zelda should make sure the initial switch sales are very good.

@gaga64 actual software figure was around 917 million so probably $3 billion dollars worth of games sold, just on Wii, which is totally ridiculous and shows how Nintendo can basically just do what they want regardless businesswise. They have so much cash it's unreal. Christ knows how much they made from accessories

@gaga64 didn't the Wii sell 100 million and also 900 million software units aswell. I'd say the attach rate was gigantic

More games are always welcome especially if they are quirky like this

@gatorboi352 @gatorboi352 well mario kart 8 on Wii U sold as many copies as call of duty on Xbox one. Admittedly the Xbox one is a declining console that hasn't faired too well like the Wii U but still healthy games sales. The problem wasn't the games on the Wii U. They sold very well considering just wasn't enough of them and a big install base to sell them too

@gatorboi352 hmmm mario kart Wii sold 30 million copies dude. It was first party and outsold most AAA games on other consoles.

@duffmmann I remember being annoyed having to buy memory cards for ps2, and GameCube, and xbox360. They were like £20 and had little memory in reality. Purely for game saves! And people moan about SD cards? Lol

Pre ordered a Grey Switch, zelda and Mario kart 8 deluxe when it's released. Not bothered about sd card really. Only games I'll download digitally are indie games. May buy a screen protector and some new earphones!

@lemonjellydude I bought it day one and still play it every couple of days! Great little game, with quite a bit of depth to it. Puts most mobile games to shame quite frankly!

One thing for sure is that's there isn't even over 1000 comments on these forums so rest assured that you and I here aren't not the whole gaming community. How many did the Wii U sell, 13 million?
