Do they really need Miyamoto for this? Not to disrespect, but i think his time has long past. Retro should be given the opportunity to create something original on their own. Give Metroid to another in-house developer.

Anyway, as a remake of a console game, people should expect to play it as one. Even if the save system isn't altered at all, it shouldn't really matter.

@hydeks Well, other than Metroid, F-Zero and Starfox, you’d be right. I do agree though - A new mature IP is required from them at this point (from Retro). Without that, i can't even begin to take that console seriously. Nintendo seem so set on just reproducing the same games over and over.

Surprisingly, i actually disagree. I believe the series has run its course. New IP (from Retro) or GTFO. Although, depending on the developer, i would want a new Metroid (just not interested prime again really). I put maybe.

That would be cool, i suppose. Would prefer a new game.

HELL. NO! Mario rehashes (or just Mario in general) are among my LEAST wanted games ever atm. Give that IP a rest.

Could be great. The controls prevented me from enjoying the 3ds game, so i shelved it early.

Yeah, we all know this coming anyway. I've gotten bored of this series now tbh (didn't buy SW or ALBW yet), but i'll gladly take this since its the best 3d Zelda.

There were games i loved on the Cube (Smash, RE4, Paper Mario, Prime series, Fire Emblem). It was actually the first system i bought that gen, and that controller was perfection. But unlike the 64, it wasn't so great for quality/fresh content overall. PS2's game selection beckoned me in the end.

I bought the Wii early on too, but i kinda regretted it because of the whole audience shift. Had less worthwhile games than the Cube imo.

@TheRealThanos As of now, all of Nintendo's issues has to do with their deep-seeded and stubborn management tendencies (i can't be bothered to go into detail). They never seem to learn from past mistakes - With each new console their situation gets worse.

@LDXD Dooming their home consoles to irrelevancy may as well be the same as giving up. Nintendo flailing on with the WiiU only bothers me because it means there will be less games coming to the 3ds.

@Tsusasi Why a troll? Nothing about this situation is unforeseen or inexplicable.

@LDXD It does interest me to see how well the WiiU performs and why. The system was set-up for failure, and it amuses me to see people thinking that was caused by anyone other than Nintendo.

I always expected a social network run by Nintendo would be disturbing, but this....

Nintendo should purge miiverse from existence.

I wouldn't really care since the character models are awful, regardless. But if the story has also been affected, that's a solid reason for me to ignore the game. Good job, Nintendo.

• The GC's install base was much higher than the WiiU can ever hope to accumulate.

The doll faces are off-putting. Staring blankly into random space isn't a good look.

X/Y would be one of the worst games in the series for me, if it wasn't for the online functions. It's amazing how stale the layout, story and challenge has gotten since i played these games last.

Nah, this is more true for 3D World. MK7 is no where near old enough to incite the huge demand for a next entry. The series barely changes.

If Mario 3D wasn't/isn't enough to impact hardware sales in any meaningful way (during this holidays), no game ever will. Why can't you fanboys accept this? There's no point in persisting with that stupid “WiiU install base is too low” excuse anymore. This was their biggest release! the one game Iwata pinned all his hopes on for a comeback.

The system is done for... It won't be worth it for anybody to continue making games on in the long run. I'll be expecting more than a few cancelled games in the coming year.
