Re: Wii U Lifetime Sales in Japan Overtake the Xbox 360

Doma

@Senario

  • Microsoft consoles have always been irrelevant in Japan.
  • Nintendo consoles have never been irrelevant in the UK.. until the WiiU.

The PS4 outselling WiiU's lifetime numbers on day one, is a hugely embarrassing and shocking thing to happen.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Direct Pointed to Another Wii U Retail Drought

Doma

@Caryslan "..Just sticking with my 3DS and PS3 is the safer bet over the next few years."

Yeah, PS3/3DS/Vita are the systems getting most usage from me atm. But i do intend to jump in with the PS4 once it has a couple of worthwhile exclusives/next-gen multiplats (and has its media capabilities fixed), which should happen by the year's end.

I feel the same way about the WiiU as you – It's just not worth buying if you own a 3DS.

@Action51 #81

I think you meant 'double' standards. MK8 is indeed comparable to the likes of CoD, in terms of content and changes between entries. The fact MK7 wasn't released that long ago, is the main reason i couldn't care less about MK8.

Re: Feature: The Big Nintendo Direct Summary - 13th February

Doma

Seems like they've been using the same content over and over again in these Directs since the beginning. It just goes to show how incredibly sparse and non-existent their line-up is/will always be. I'm sooo glad i never bought a WiiU.

All i've been waiting for with the past 10 of these things is a SMT IV release date. Why must they continually ignore this game?

Re: Brand New Game Developer, AE Games, Shows Its Support For Wii U

Doma

Announcements of announcements are always stupid and pointless. Their first 'press release' or whatever the crap this is, should have been to properly verify who the hell they really are, without the lame fanboy ranting.

How can you be shocked at people not taking this seriously?

Re: Just 2% of Ubisoft's Q3 Sales Were for Wii U

Doma

@MoonKnight7 “I dig what you're saying. Nintendo's quality massively outweighs any third party. That's a fact.”

LOL, this hasn't been true since the N64 era, and even then the quality was also owed to Rareware and other western made 3rd party exclusives. Nintendo today are a shadow of their former selves when it comes to being superior. Why do you think their seal of quality ceases to exist anymore?

@Sean_Aaron"if they put it up against Smash Bros. or Mario Kart it loses"

Maybe to you it does. But to say WD was delayed (cancelled really) to avoid the 'big hitters' from Nintendo is rather idiotic. The games appeal to different target audiences. People buying either would prioritize one over the other regardless. However, the fact is that WD's potential buyers simply don't exist as a part of the WiiU's userbase.

@Tsuzura Nintendo fanboys are the worst.

Re: Watch_Dogs Delayed Again on Wii U, Will Arrive on the System After Other Platforms

Doma

@Tsuzura WiiU is a bigger failure than the Virtual Boy. Overall the WiiU has been nothing but a money sink, that is even sucking up all the profits made by the 3DS. Now, instead of discontinuing (as they should) to stop the bleeding, they've decided to just watch it flop around and fail while draining development resources.

WiiU is far more damaging to Nintendo.

Re: Talking Point: Sonic and the Wii U Both Seek a Boom in Sales

Doma

Behind the scenes, i bet Sega is already anticipating a sales failure. One thing to note - is that if the game was initially planned to be multi-platform, it'd no doubt include online as an option (why wouldn't it, as a more western/co-op focused game?). But for some reason it's been omitted... which is very likely due to the WiiU's performance so far (even though they give the old 'NES experience' excuse).

"Nintendo is aiming to hit the market with franchises and releases that it hopes gamers of all types will find almost impossible to resist — Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. being prominent examples."

I think that's being a bit too hopeful... Not even MK/Smash fans (like me) will find those impossible to resist. I'll just be content with the 3DS counterparts.

Re: Satoru Iwata Talks Down Wii U Price Cut Prospects, 3DS to Drive Profits in 2014

Doma

They released Pokemon and many other 3DS games in 2013, yet STILL managed to incur a huge loss due to their failed WiiU. Wtf makes him think that this year, with almost no games coming to the 3DS (notable ones), that it will somehow drive profits for them this time?

I don't personally care if they drop the WiiU price, because i'm not interested. But Nintendo will be forced to anyway – sales will be completely dead outside the months of MK8 and Smash 4 (which will do about as much for the system as 3D World did).

They should be announcing plans to kill the damn thing off. Put it out of its misery.

Re: Satoru Iwata Announces a "Quality of Life" Platform Business of "Non-Wearable" Technology

Doma

@Spanjard That's true for the WiiU only, which is why Nintendo should completely abandon it.

@8bitforever Those are my thoughts as well, after reading they have no plans for a real account system with their current platforms, only future ones. They are ridiculously slow when it comes fulfilling any of their promises (games and otherwise).

Once the 3DS is done with physical releases (the only way i'll support it, due to the inferior service). Goodbye and good luck to whatever crap they have in the works afterwards.
