Re: Weirdness: PeterMolydeux Is Back With The Strangely Moving Nintendo: A Sad Story Part Two

Nice. I'd say that's a fairly accurate depiction.

I don't really think this was a dig at the 'over-reliance on its core franchises'. It looks more to do with how the series itself has followed the same old, tired formula and hardly progressed.

@Tobias95 Maybe to show how the games gradually became more dumbed down and forced, since Iwata became CEO? - all a part of his lame vision to excessively appeal to non-gamers, thus gain more sales.

Re: Nintendo Confirms Mario Golf: World Tour DLC, Pricing and Release Schedule

Doma

@Yorumi There's nothing ironic about the inferiority of Nintendo's set-up compared to how their competition has been doing it for many years.

I don't bother comparing physical to download games. I'll always prefer the latter where the option is a viable alternative. However, when they're overpriced (their games cost more than they do physically, here in the UK) and hardware locked on Nintendo systems, it squanders any advantage they may have over physical copies. The eShop is a very poor excuse of a download store.

@WiiULoveGBA Also with that particular quote - "And one thing Nintendo has determined as a company policy, what we are not going to do is create a full game and then say, ‘let's hold this back for DLC.' That's not our plan.”

The game itself was held back for a year, in-order to implement some cash grab DLC for it. So actually, it's the perfect example.

Re: Poll: Have Your Say on Nintendo Direct Bonanzas and Single Game Demonstrations

Doma

The Sakurai Direct has been the only one worth watching since their inception, to me.There's so much negligible/boring info given in the usual Directs, that it would be better given as standard press announcements (which should be regular, instead of keeping people in the dark constantly).

Nintendo Direct should be scrapped. I usually just wait for the round-ups anyway because i can't stand watching anything hosted by Iwata or Reggie.

Re: Vita Overtakes 3DS in Tough Week for Japanese Charts

Doma

@wombatkidd The PS2 still received WAY more third party titles (non-shovelware) than the GC or Xbox. So comparing its support to the Wii's influx of garbage is quite silly of you.

Also, to that last question: How about every GTA game (and plenty of EA stuff from what i remember).

Re: Nintendo Titles Struggle for a Presence in UK Charts

Doma

@Excep7ional Within the coming years, i think Nintendo will gradually edge themselves for departure of the console market (it's likely what this 'QoL' stuff entails). Sadly, i don't think this will lead them into making games for Sony... They'll probably stick with handhelds for another gen, but other than that, nada.

Nintendo's relevancy in gaming is set for death, thanks to Iwata's 'we are unable to compete/meet today's standards' mentality.

Re: Nintendo Titles Struggle for a Presence in UK Charts

Doma

@element187 Heh, i actually wouldn't mind that. While Nintendo's handheld is good, it's also crippled due to region locking and horrible software prices. I'd have rather imported one, tbh.

Nobody would miss their home consoles, they're too inferior.

Re: Rumour: Mario Golf: World Tour To Offer Additional Courses As Paid DLC

Doma

@LunaticPandora Any rational person will notice that it's too soon to be promoting 'additional paid courses' when the game has yet to be released. I already doubt the base game will be worth its £30+ retail price tag (i'm guessing it will match your description of MK7...). So yes, advertising this to me now has devalued it.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Direct Will Bring the Hype on 8th April

Doma

What i expect:

  • Some actual info on the game modes, unique features etc.
  • a couple new character announcements.

What i don't expect:

  • A release date (they'll just say something vague i.e. 'Autumn/Winter')
  • Any details regarding online.

Anyhow, i'll be waiting for the aftermath unless it isn't hosted by that dullard, Iwata.

Good thing it's just Smash related, btw. Screw Mario Kart!
