Hell no... Downloads are preferable to me, but i'd never touch a region-locked, account-less device of theirs if it was limited to eShop. That's when Nintendo and i will part ways.

I don't really think this was a dig at the 'over-reliance on its core franchises'. It looks more to do with how the series itself has followed the same old, tired formula and hardly progressed.

Mario Kart is such a stale series by now... Regular people will see no reason to purchase a new console for a game they see readily available on much cheaper hardware (Wii, 3DS). Fanboys will, but they most likely own a WiiU already.

Simply isn’t worth it once you realise that Nintendo revealed the entire future library of this console during last year's January Direct. No price above £120 (maybe a bit higher for this bundle) would justify the investment for such a paltry number of releases.

I haven't touched a single piece of DLC (or any paid downloads) from Nintendo because of how overpriced and inferior their service is. That won't be changing any time soon.

I don't bother comparing physical to download games. I'll always prefer the latter where the option is a viable alternative. However, when they're overpriced (their games cost more than they do physically, here in the UK) and hardware locked on Nintendo systems, it squanders any advantage they may have over physical copies. The eShop is a very poor excuse of a download store.

This is why i hate Nintendo Direct.

The Sakurai Direct has been the only one worth watching since their inception, to me.There's so much negligible/boring info given in the usual Directs, that it would be better given as standard press announcements (which should be regular, instead of keeping people in the dark constantly).

Nintendo Direct should be scrapped. I usually just wait for the round-ups anyway because i can't stand watching anything hosted by Iwata or Reggie.

Those WiiU and 3DS sales are magnificent considering there were no games released in March!

It's on the 360 as well, people. What other platforms was there to port it, at the time?

@Windy I think people are mistaken in believing Tomadachi LIFE will have a long lifespan. Its novelty is very likely to wear off quickly, just like the majority of pointless life sims.

@Excep7ional Within the coming years, i think Nintendo will gradually edge themselves for departure of the console market (it's likely what this 'QoL' stuff entails). Sadly, i don't think this will lead them into making games for Sony... They'll probably stick with handhelds for another gen, but other than that, nada.

Nintendo's relevancy in gaming is set for death, thanks to Iwata's 'we are unable to compete/meet today's standards' mentality.

I'm proud of the fact i haven't bought a Mario related game since 2011 (Smash Bros. will end this period, but that has everything to do with it containing other IP). I'm doing my part, but it seems the majority of Nintendo's fanbase enjoy playing the same crap over and over...

I wish Atlus would bring back Devil Survivor. Those spin-off are better than the entirety of EO or Persona series, imo.

What i expect:

• Some actual info on the game modes, unique features etc.
• a couple new character announcements.

What i don't expect:

• A release date (they'll just say something vague i.e. 'Autumn/Winter')
• Any details regarding online.

Anyhow, i'll be waiting for the aftermath unless it isn't hosted by that dullard, Iwata.

Good thing it's just Smash related, btw. Screw Mario Kart!

@rjejr Advance Wars and Metroid on 3DS will need to come before Nintendo can start to think about retiring it. Ignoring those franchise will severely lower the chance of me buying their next region-locked, account-less system.
