Re: Preview: Orbitals' Cosmic Anime Co-op Made Me Feel Like A Kid Again

DangerZone

Co-op'd with the 8 year old this past year on Split Fiction, Mario Galaxy, DK Bananza, currently working through It Takes Two, and then onto Marvel Cosmic Invasion. She's really good at the puzzles, gets me unstuck quite often!!! I think she's going to fall in love with the Orbitals style because she's massively into anime.Very pumped for this, and pre-ordered the Japanese version already!

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Rhythm Heaven Fever (Wii)

DangerZone

North American obviously... it really makes me feel the game so much more. Also, the thing I really like about US versions is the certification is B+W which goes with everything, unlike the EU Pegi rating which often starkly contrasts the cover art or really gets in the way.

Re: Opinion: What's The Best Star Fox Stage, And Why Is It Sector X?

DangerZone

It wasn't until the Starfox direct that I knew there was a submarine level, and I played and completed both 64 and 3DS versions. I never could identify the alternate routes, that was just a gaming mystery to me. So... I have to abstain from this poll because most of these levels I have no idea what you're talking about!

Re: UK Charts: Star Fox Barrel Rolls To The Top And Grabs The Gold Medal

DangerZone

Starfox sold out a couple of days before its release on Amazon and I could only get it from Argos in the end. Okay, that makes sense, but why is Adventures of Elliot not available for delivery before 24th July on Amazon and not selling as strong?

I wasn't gonna get Elliot, but it just looks so beautiful... I'll pick it up somewhere when I get back to the UK.

Re: Poll: What's Your Switch 2 Game Of The Year So Far?

DangerZone

Lets imagine its 2018 and my answer is Celeste, because I've only just tried it and absolutely loving the learning curviness of it. Love the challenge, die, repeat formula... already lined up the 2D Super Meat Boys and pre-ordered the 3D special edition physical.

Basically I think I haven't played GOTY yet... I'd guess it is possible to be:

Orbitals (70% chance)
Switch Sports Resort (80% chance)
Mouse PI For Hire (50% chance)
Adventures of Elliot (30% chance)
Indy and the Massive Circle (60% chance)

Re: Gallery: Nintendo Shares Multiple Screenshots Of Nintendo Switch Sports Resort

DangerZone

I need this to have a proper offline mode, like the original Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. That tennis offline levelling up against the NPCs became absolutely diabolical, but when we eventually beat the champions it was such a glorious moment! Boxing too, had a great run of NPC opponents to hone your skills on. I need more of this, rather than leaning so heavily on the online + local multiplayer.

Re: Hands On: "We Want It To Feel Like A Fighting Game" - Super Yooka-Laylee Kart Offers More Depth Than You Think

DangerZone

I'm surprised by the disappointed reactions to this... I think it looks great! I've not play any Yooka-Laylee games and though they look good, I've been hesitant. I went into this article thinking it would just be a quick read that wouldn't grab me, but this looks and sounds like such a unique spin. Personally I love this 2D-HD thing but do not have the time and patience for an RPG where this style is mostly employed right now. So to see a genuinely beautiful looking kart racer use that style with some cool sounding gameplay mechanics is awesome 🤩

Re: Ecco The Dolphin: Complete Announced, Includes Remasters & A Brand New Game

DangerZone

I could never figure out what to do... sonar at something and it gives me some weirdly poetic/ambiguous message, pretend I have an idea, but then just end up swimming around and doing flips in the air whilst desperately trying to jump over the rocks to get to the next level. So, of course this is a day one purchase, and I will be following all the guides to actually progress in the game and I feel absolutely no guilt about that.

Re: Opinion: The Nintendo Console Nobody Wanted To Review Returns Soon, And I'm Here For It, Again

DangerZone

I happened to be in the US in the summer of '96 and the VB was just $99. I pitched HARD for someone to buy it for me, and despite misgivings about the possibility of seizures (not sure how I circumvented that in my pitching), eventually I got it. Went back to the UK where is has remained ever since. Mario's Tennis and Nester's Funky Bowling are all I've had to play for 30 years. It demands to suck on the juice of 6 AA batteries though... which is a big ask, but ultimately worth it.

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

DangerZone

The whole game key cart thing actually opened my eyes to preservation of games and the longevity of having the physical releases available to me. This was in June when the Switch 2 came out. Prior to this I was probably buying a new game on shop once or twice every 3 months, and physical perhaps one a year. But since June I've bought 92 Switch/Switch 2 games, all physical. I regret many of them and have a distinct feeling that I've ruined the specialness of many of them. I might just sell a bunch and take this as a lesson learned...

Re: Poll: Three Months In, How Would You Rate Switch 2's Library So Far?

DangerZone

For me I won't buy a game that only has a game key cart, unless I REALLY want to play it, like with Full Metal Schoolgirl (and that is begrudgingly pre-ordered). And that limits me, which also impacts my view of the current library. Personally I have enough for me to be getting on with though all the games being on cart would dynamically change my view. The Switch 1 has such an immense library of physical releases, big and small, and I'd like Switch 2 to have that once Game Key Carts are inevitably dumped.
