FYI this is not overclocking. The increased clock speed options available sys-clk are within the specifications for the nvidia chip. This simply allows you to use your hardware at full speed. Nintendo locked the clock speed at a lower rate to save on battery.

It’s so strange they named the girl “Liko”. I’ve met many Japanese students with that name and they all spell it “Riko”.

Having 2 tiers is unnecessary. Ninty should just go back to the single tier, $20/year model. It doesn’t cost them anything to provide DLC for games that are 3+ years old, nor emulation for games 20+ years old. I already bought a bunch of those N64 games on Wii U on the same Nintendo account, so why can’t I access them through my switch library?

Lol according to Nintendo (and many other sites,) I’m 122, as the earliest birth year most sites accept is 1900.

Just a correction: The F-Zero AX tracks were unlockable in GX. You don’t need a cheat device, you just need to be really good at the game.

I’ve worked in Japan for years and I’m not surprised in the slighted. Many Japanese companies are incredibly resistant to change. When asked, my boss said we are “forbidden to work from home.” This is despite the fact that I did WFH during my first year with the company...

In my opinion, the Nintendo and the feds are going after the wrong people. They should take down those sharing and distributing illegal content.

I am one of those people who has an SX core but hasn’t pirated any Switch games. Why? Emulation. It is absolute bliss being able to carry my library of NES, SNES, and Gameboy games everywhere I go. The official Nintendo Online releases pale in comparison. The other reason? Save game backups. Pokémon Shield I’m looking at you.

I saw the movie last week (in Japan) and I agree with many points, but I would say it’s not a good video game movie. It has tons of fan service to keep people happy and was generally entertaining. Ryan Renolds voice doesn’t fit Pikachu. He had a lot of lines that left me cringing. I didn’t like the main protagonist and antagonist. They were both plain and shallow characters. There were 2 scenes in particular that Tim’s actor just couldn’t handle. The main plot device featuring Mewtwo also didn’t fit into the Pokémon universe at all. I could go on, but I don’t want to spoil anything else.

I personally don’t see the problem. If they don’t want people stalling just turn off the time and play regular stock. They can’t implement a “shot timer” because it would be subjective in a game where dodging is the name of the game.

Super Mario Run was great. I bought it full price day one and don’t regret a it. I tried all of Ninty’s other mobile offerings and promptly uninstalled with no in app purchases. As much as I love Nintendo, I won’t support freemium games.

Labo is an awesome idea, but I can’t help but think Nintendo will stop supporting it soon. It reminds me of the Wii Fit, skylanders, and even amiibo to some extent. They are all really innovative products that had excellent launches which fizzled out due to lack of support. That said, I really hope Labo can succeed!

As much as I like gaming and old arcade cabinets, I hate going to game centers in Japan. It’s one of the few first world countries that still allows smoking indoors. You’ll find old men sitting at candy cabinets holding a lit drag while playing. I often see schoolchildren wandering around with people smoking in front of them. It’s atrocious.

If you just vote for exclusive title then it’s easy to choose. Stardew Valley, Axiom Verge, Overcooked, and Shovel Knight all overshadow the other Switch eShop games but I own none of them on the Switch...

There's no mention of brands? Isn't armor with the Krakken brand for example, more likely to roll swim speed up when it levels up? Also what about Crusty Sean's drinks? They give a better chance to roll specific abilities too..

@Yorumi I agree with everything in this post. Ninty needs to ditch the expire date and offer much better rewards.

@The_BAAD_Man I hope to upgrade to a New 3DS XL in the coming months as my R button doesn't work anymore. If it's faster, I might actually give the badge arcade another go.

@Bass_X0 I just timed it. From tapping the icon to the first dialogue with the rabbit, it took my launch day 3DS 3 minutes 9 seconds. I closed the game and reopened it. This time with no updates it still took 1:58 to open. That is completely unacceptable for a game like this.

Uhh, I've been living in Japan for the past 8 years and I'm pretty sure it's not okay to pet random strangers, drug people, or for 13 year olds to wear skimpy bathing suits in public.
