When it comes to PS360 we very rarely not have something come out, but in saying that this is in terms of the past 4 years, after they had established user bases.
I don't think many consoles sell very well to begin with in Australia (this is just off the top of my head remembering numbers, please correct me if I am wrong!) so Activision clearly don't see a profit in releasing it on Wii U if there's no Wii Us currently in Australian homes.
If @zip is right, then that might be why Balloon Fight isn't 60hz, it could be more complicated than changing one value.
It's all very interesting though, I don't remember how 50hz played when I was a young'un, but I do know that Castlevania PAL on the NES is a nightmare compared to the NTSC version
In all honesty, if it is to fix the problems with the PS360 versions, then I'm all for it.
The Wii U needs as many "definitive" versions of games as it can get, on top of Need For Speed. As a consumer it'll be the first Need for Speed game that I'll be getting in ages.
Glitches? I'm three quarters of the way through the game and other than a bit of screen tearing (which was present in the PS360 versions) I've had no issues?
Activision was competing with 20+ other titles at launch, and the fact that EVERYONE who bought the original Skylanders bought it on a different console, and are more likely to buy the sequel on the same console.
Of course it wasn't going to sell well on the Wii U, that's just obvious.
Interesting, with the brilliant Tiger Woods' series on the Wii, you'd hope they'd continue it with Wii U. I'd say they're waiting to see how well it sells come next year.
@Schprocket: It is a bit baffling, I remember JB Hifi distributing Punch-Out!! for Wii, with Nintendo having hardly anything to do with it, talk about weird, lol.
@Damo: I've opened up my NES and replaced LED lights and the cartridge slot before so I'll probably do just that when it happens. Hopefully that'll make it last until I see grandkids (which, scarily, if the history in my family is any indication, could happen in 8 years, yikes!)
I actually turned mine on for the first time in years when I moved house a couple of weeks back, still works absolutely perfectly, which makes me happy!
@Schprocket: We probably got a PAL version of the NA release, just with slightly altered spelling for words such as "colour". We don't have as many European languages needed to cater for over here.
Another explanation could be that we saw it published by Warner Bros. Interactive in Australia, but Europe are getting it published by Nintendo of Europe, so go ask James
Without even having all of the giants out here in Australia and this announced, I'm just tired of the series now.
Just last week my girlfriend and I were thinking of selling our Skylanders, because it's just too much to keep up with, and this announcement that comes before even all the Giants are out is just too much IMO.
If it's been on Steam in all languages, then I'm not sure what the problem is, unless Nintendo aren't happy with some of the Nintendo content in the game? I can't think of anything they'd be upset about though.
I got one for Christmas last year, my girlfriend spotted it in a retro gaming shop in Sydney and somehow bought it while I was ogling Hyrulian shields...
Wow! I remember the Australian guys being interviewed for the (now defunct) Nintendo Magazine System back in the day. One of the questions was "how do you get a job as a Nintendo Game expert?", the reply was "you need to have completed every game on a Nintendo console!"
Original Scribblenauts should have improved controls and adjectives (like as seen in the HD version on mobile platforms) if it's being re-released. It would be the ultimate version!
@Bankai: From what I gather, looking at the franchises involved in Project X Zone, a lot of them are more popular in the West than Japan, perhaps it would have been better had they released it in the West, shown its success to those in Japan, then released it there soon afterwards?
Fun fact, while Australia did see a limited release of Beetle Adventure Racing, it didn't last very long on our shelves, then it was soon replaced by HSV Adventure Racing, with all the Volkswagens replaced with Holdens, and no other differences
Never mind the eventual price hike for Australians, who enjoy a better dollar than America, but are still paying at least 1.5x as much for just about everything
Wow, I'm assuming that this article was written because Nintendo never said it was limited edition when it came out? If they did say that, that's cool, as sometimes Ninty have been known to have "limited editions" last years, haha.
I don't think it looks all that low quality to be honest, remember there's going to be over 600 different models with their own unique animations in the game, I trust GameFreak enough to make this awesome
I have this, and I reviewed it (gave it a similar score to Jon actually!), loads of fun, the tracklist is awesome, and has a few songs each member of my family like.
Unlocked all the Uplay rewards too, it's just a hell of a lot of fun, and more fluid than Dance Central on 360 (where in my opinion, the dancers just act incredibly robotic)
God I hope it'll come back to the Australian Club Nintendo, I'm keeping my eyes out, it was 3000 stars last time I believe, and I have an ample amount to buy it
Well, not everything has to be a positive comment, then we would never get deep discussions.
I'm on the fence personally, as I'm not entirely sure what kind of game they're going for on the 3DS, I know they'll be attached to the two other games, a PC/iOS racing game, and a PC Online game.
Pikmin 3 for me, I got the first one on New Play Control for Christmas, first time I ever played it. Stressful, but loved every minute of it, very glad that Shiggy is making the 3rd just as stressful an experience

Simple as that.
Re: Pwnee Studios: Nintendo Has Been Great To Work With
I'm going to Tweet and Facebook this as there's a link to my interview here
Thanks for reading Damo! I hope people enjoy the interview I did with Pwnee, they are a lovely bunch of people!
Re: Rumour: Scribblenauts Unlimited UK Recall Due To Lack Of UK English
Pretty sure my Aussie copy has UK English. Why not use the dictionary from that version?
Re: The European Version Of F-Zero On Wii U Virtual Console Comes With 60Hz Support

Re: Hardware Classics: Nintendo AV Famicom
The PAL version of the NES 2 has no AV output either. I know this because I own one!
Re: Rumour: Aliens: Colonial Marines Tester Says Wii U Version Is "The Worst"
Like I said in the previous article, there's a good chance Demiurge could do this better than Gearbox.
A post from a Reddit forum of all places isn't exactly trustworthy.
Re: Sony Trolls Nintendo Ahead of PlayStation 4 Announcement
Well, it's a dig, but then again, people are rating the chances of Ridge Racer at PS4 launch pretty high too, so it's not like they don't do it too.
Re: Wii U Version of Aliens: Colonial Marines Has Not Been Postponed
You never know, if Demiurge do a better job than Gearbox, then I'm open to buying it.
Re: Wii U Resident Evil: Revelations Will Not Support Wii Remote and Nunchuk
I don't think I'd need it anyway?
Re: Rumour: Wii U Version Of Aliens: Colonial Marines Postponed?

Re: Maestro Working On New Titles For The Wii U eShop
Super Ubi Land will delay all your games until September
But seriously, nice support from Maestro here
Re: The Darksiders Series Looks To Be Over
Glitches? I'm three quarters of the way through the game and other than a bit of screen tearing (which was present in the PS360 versions) I've had no issues?
What have people been encountering?
Re: Activision's Bobby Kotick Is Disappointed With The Launch Of The Wii U

Re: Wii U Resident Evil: Revelations To Feature Off-Screen Play and Pro Controller Support
I'm holding out on the 3DS version now so I can get this. Can't wait!
Re: Tiger Woods Is Skipping The Wii U This Year
Interesting, with the brilliant Tiger Woods' series on the Wii, you'd hope they'd continue it with Wii U. I'd say they're waiting to see how well it sells come next year.
And why is Kevin Spacey in this game?

Blame Corbie!

Dreading those vertical lines though

Re: Scribblenauts Unlimited Delayed In Europe
What the hell? It's available in Australia, I'm guessing European language differences are causing the delay?
At least Europeans can import a copy from Australia and it will still work.
Re: Hardware Classics: The Legend Of Zelda Game Boy Advance SP
Needless to say I love it to death
Re: Hardware Classics: The Legend Of Zelda Game Boy Advance SP
I got one for Christmas last year, my girlfriend spotted it in a retro gaming shop in Sydney and somehow bought it while I was ogling Hyrulian shields...
Re: The Secrets Of The Nintendo Power Line Experts Are Revealed
@Svengoolie: Oh, someone taking my comment a little too seriously.
I referenced a well-known quote about binders in an article with a picture of binders, nothing more.
I'm not American, I have no strong opinions based for or against Romney, as I have no power on who gets voted in.
Though from my perspective I think Obama would have won regardless of whether Romney said something stupid or not.
Re: The Secrets Of The Nintendo Power Line Experts Are Revealed
BINDERS FULL OF WOME...... GAME INFO!
Re: EA: Excited About New Generation Which Is "Yet to Come"
Assuming Sony even have the funds to develop and launch a new console :/
I know they've got an announcement coming, but we'll have to wait and see what that is.
Re: The Secrets Of The Nintendo Power Line Experts Are Revealed
Wow! I remember the Australian guys being interviewed for the (now defunct) Nintendo Magazine System back in the day. One of the questions was "how do you get a job as a Nintendo Game expert?", the reply was "you need to have completed every game on a Nintendo console!"
Thinking about it now, they sounded like idiots.
Re: You Can't Use Your Wii Virtual Console Saves With the Wii U Virtual Console
I'm pretty sure it's because the Wii and Wii U versions will be running completely different emulators to each other, which is totally fair.
We're not completely priveleged, people.
@Don: I'm pretty sure it deletes your old copy from the Wii menu if you choose to upgrade, so you'd still only have one version of each game.
Re: Ninterview: Australian Retro Gamer
@kirby95: I missed it, alas. It sounded absolutely amazing though
Re: Ninterview: Australian Retro Gamer
Good interview, being an Aussie myself
Might meet up with him at PAX for a beer or two, the older stuff always holds a special place in my heart too

Re: Australian 3DS eShop Gets New Region Specific Section
I like it, some people (other than Australians) may find it interested to see what's been developed here.
Then again, it's an easy way to see what Nnooo's done

Re: Talking Point: The Trends and Inconsistencies of Localisation
"was that the accompanying 352-page Magic Master book — a vital part of the game — would be expensive to translate"
Cheesemeister would have done it for a low price
Re: Review: Beetle Adventure Racing! (Nintendo 64)

Re: Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge Is Australia's First 18-Rated Video Game
I love that the first R rated game for Australia is not only on the Wii U, but actually PUBLISHED by Nintendo of Australia aswell!
I'm going to find out when it comes out whether we'll be affected by whatever the future German law does to Europe.
Re: Didn't Pick Up The Pink 3DS XL? Hard Luck

Re: LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Coming To Wii U And 3DS
@Sean_Aaron: With over 100 different Marvel characters, it'll be hard not to have him in there
Deadpool's in it, so it's a buy for me.
Re: The Gold Nunchuk Shines Again on Club Nintendo
God I hope it'll come back to the Australian Club Nintendo, I'm keeping my eyes out, it was 3000 stars last time I believe, and I have an ample amount to buy it

Re: Review: James Bond: 007 Legends (Wii U)
Wii version of Goldeneye with Daniel Craig < N64 version of Goldeneye with Pierce Brosnan anyday
One can only assume all these bad reviews (of what appears to be a bad game of course) is the reason it's not coming to Australia.
Re: Wii U Software Falls Off The UK Charts
Other than the install base, we need to remember there's over 20 launch titles to choose from, which is going to lessen the sales impact of any game.
Re: Hardware Review: Wii Mini
Wow, I didn't know it doesn't even support component, that's quite odd.
Obviously I'm not getting one, and it's even more obvious who this Wii is targeted towards.
Perhaps Ninty just really wanted a new console to push Wii sales over that 100 million
