@Starwolf_UK: It was a blink-and-you-miss-it news story on the Nintendo Australia page aswell, no official PR sent out like all the other stories they post, so thanks for the heads up about Europe!
As for the NES games, alas it is every Nintendo published NES game. I wrote the original story and I still missed that bit when I wrote this one ^facepalm^.
@ThePillowGolem: It really depends which era of Superman you think of when you're watching/playing the game. I grew up on the TV show Lois and Clark, so this Superman seems super watered down to me.
The fact that Batman can take a punch from the guy tells me he's not as strong as usual, lol.
Sure, Skyrim's a great game, but these things should be based on technical achievement too, and based on the PS3 version, Skyrim shouldn't even be a contender.
And as good as Uncharted on the Vita is, it was hopelessly tacked with every single bell and whistle the Vita has.
I don't know about many other people (other than Navi, who's said he's getting two games) but I think I'll be purchasing roughly five games with my console, Nintendo Land, ZombiU, Mario, Scribblenauts and maybe either Assassin's Creed or Just Dance 4.
I honestly don't see where he gets off saying that the consoles are expensive, it's one of the cheapest launches we've had in Australia (for the basic pack, it's 50 bucks less than what the Wii started at, and the additional cost to get the premium pack is 80 dollars, which is less than what some people are selling Nintendo Land itself for).
Other than that, four at launch is a big ask, 4 during the first 6 months to a year might be more realistic.
General PR release by Nintendo. There's not a lot else that they can do, especially if they're selling the Wii U at a loss. They need to survive as a company, and all they can do is investigate Foxconn and ensure that no underage workers are making the consoles, and do it regularly.
I don't condone the use of underage workers, so please don't put words in my mouth. As far as I know Nintendo really don't have many other options for cheap manufacturing in cheaper countries like China to switch to, especially this close to launch.
I feel bad for the kids that were a part of all this, I know I worked in a factory with my dad when I was 13, but that was voluntary, it wasn't totally hard work (just stamping some labels and folding some boxes), the hours weren't long, and I got cash in hand to buy games that my parents wouldn't buy for me.
I also understand that me working in a factory when I was 13 is illegal in Australia, but what are ya gonna do?
Remember back in the 90's, we didn't have access to sites like nintendolife, YouTube or IGN, so we kinda relied on print ads and television ads to show off what games were coming out?
Nintendo needs to advertise to those who don't come to these sites in order to drum up new business. Who cares if casual gamers play your console?
@LZCatboy: Exactly, it was inevitable that I was going to buy a 3DS, it's inevitable that I'm going to buy most gaming handhelds or products when I find out what games are coming out for it. Nintendo need not waste any money with TV adverts for the likes of me, and I'm willing to bet there's plenty of people like me out there, so why advertise for people who are already going to buy the product?
I have many friends and family who have bought a Wii or a DS over the past 6 years due to the way Nintendo have marketed the devices to the generally uninterested.
Are Nintendo selling the Wii U at a loss when it comes out? They don't normally do that with consoles (not counting handhelds), so it'll be interesting to see what it's like at the end of the year.
I doubt any company can keep going like this, but I don't know a hell of a lot about accounting so I'll let people that know more than me make comments on this
Wow, I didn't realise so many people had a tough time with this game, not that it's easy, it takes a lot of good timing for sure, but the boss battles are reasonably easy.
I feel good knowing I've beaten all the Mega Men up until 8 (yet to play 9 and 10!)
@BenAV: the PR director told me himself he wanted to get as many Wii U's into consumer hands as possible to allow people to understand that it's completely different to the Wii. He didn't elaborate, it could be through their Connection Tour, but I heard rumors that they will be bringing out Wii U stands to EB and JB HiFis throughout the country, only time will tell, but it will have to happen soon.
@MadAussieBloke they're actually working rather hard for the Wii U launch, there's rumblings that they're putting Wii U units in shops all around Australia!
@BenAV from what I hear it should be out late Februrary, but I don't have official clarification
@SamiCetinSMK any advice on Super Mario Kart time trials would definitely help me out!
Nintendo are holding a tournament in Sydney on November 1st, and I've got a SNES controller for my Wii so I've been practicing Super Mario Kart on the Wii, and it seems as though my skills from when I was in primary school are no longer with me, lol. Though I am slightly improving my times
Does this fashion craze cover the appearance of Mr. Popo from Dragonball Z? Totally serious question, I never knew of this fashion until you peeps brought it to light, I just assumed Mr. Popo was a stereotypical black slave.
@grumblegrumble: You sir have lived up to your handle!
Jokes aside, Nnooo are quite a small dev team, and what they have produced so far has been received really well on WiiWare and DSiWare, and it's the success of those titles that's allowed them to get the time needed to produce something special in Spirit Hunters Inc.
Because there are people like my friends, who only play mobile, then there are people like me, who will only ever play with a traditional handheld, and there are people like @WhiteKnight, who will play both as long as the games are good
@Boo_Buster: Yeah, you still need to hold the controller in the Wii U version, I don't find it intrusive though, I hardly remember it's there.
@ChrisT99: Yeah he did sign some 3DS', some people didn't know he'd be there and had to have his signature on somethig other than a poster or picture. I got him to sign my Mario 64!
@Superconsole: You use Bloodhound Gang related tags, I love you...
I'm going to get the Wii U version, the puppet master mode is really fun!
@JonWahlgren & @AndrewRoxRox: I think I played the full version, noone mentioned anything about a camera. 4 people were still dancing while the person with the tablet can tell people how to dance.
@Boo_Buster: If you're referring to the Zelda game, one person uses the gamepad to shoot arrows, using the screen to aim. The others use the Wiimote to swing the sword and kill enemies ala Skyward Sword
@Manganimist: This one was in Australia, the second of its kind I think it's ok as long as you don't have too many in the one country!

Re: Animal Crossing: New Leaf Will Not Have "Unwholesome" Paid DLC
Nintendo would be more wise to use it as an advertising tool for future games, first and third would be awesome!
And you should be able to buy a TV to put in your house that links to Nintendo Video.

I would laugh if after the hurricane, someone went and beat him in line.
But I'm sick like that.

Re: No Voice Support For Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed On Wii U
Hmm, I really don't need people yelling abuse at me while I'm trying to enjoy a game, so this doesn't affect me personally.
Implementing Voice Chat does sound a bit like a chore for the Wii U so far, soI hope that gets sorted for those who would use it.
Re: Rayman Creator Says Wii U is "Surprisingly Powerful"
I played Rayman Legends, it looks rather pretty, but being all 2D and such, I didn't really imagine it being too hardware intensive.

Re: Interview: Braxton Burks - Pokémon Reorchestrated: Kanto Symphony
Additional question in case Braxton comes to have a look, is there any way I can get this without using iTunes?
(Spoken from a stubborn man with bad experiences with iTunes and a burning hatred of Apple products)
EDIT: Nevermind, after I read the interview I re-read it and found the Joypad Records link, cheers!
Re: Review: Kirby Air Ride (GameCube)
From what I heard of the game back in the day, this review sounds about right
I haven't played it, been meaning to though. I heard it had a the same unlock system that was used in Smash Bros Brawl, which is kinda cool
Re: Meet Leyla Hasso, The Fastest Female SNES Super Mario Kart Player

Does this have Professor Layton in it at all? I heard he was in one of the DS games, that blew my mind.
Re: Nintendo Responds To Foxconn's Admission Of Guilt In Child Labour Scandal
Unfortunately Nintendo is in a place where they can't do a hell of a lot about it, except essentially say 'stop it! stop it please!'.
I'm just glad this made news so that the appropriate actions were taken by Foxconn.

Re: ZombiU Structure "Really Inspired by Metroid"
The first difficulty most people will have with this game is the control scheme, it takes some getting used to.
Once you've mastered the controls, the next difficulty you face is SURVIVING. Man it's a hard game.

Wait
Ubisoft did well on the DS too, add that to my initial list up the top of the comments section
Re: New Super Mario Bros. U Confirmed as 1080p, Or Not
Seriously, my PS3 hardly ever goes into 1080p more when I throw a game in so it's no loss to me.
Re: Guess What? Michael Pachter Isn't a Fan of The Wii U
While he does make some good points, he also makes some bad ones.
I thought Capcom, Square Enix, Taito, 5th Cell and EA did rather well on the DS.

Re: NPD: US Consumers Want a Hot Item This Xmas, But The Wii U Isn't It
@Mahe: You mean consumer confusion, or that the 3DS has sold quicker than the DS in the same amount of time?
Re: NPD: US Consumers Want a Hot Item This Xmas, But The Wii U Isn't It
I don't think Nintendo really have anything to worry about, unless he talks about Wii U directly I don't think there's too much to read into it.
Pre-orders are unavailable everywhere in the US right? That's a good thing for them, yes?
