Re: Take-Two CEO On Backward Compatibility: "Give Consumers What They Want"

Chris55

Apples iPhone didn’t become the most successful product in history by binning off the previous gen version for the next one. Progression is KEY in the modern world. Switch 2 will have most games not available on original switch, but those original switch games should 100% be available within the switch “family” on the new hardware.

Re: UK Charts: For Goodness Sake, Zelda: TOTK Is Number One Again

Chris55

So Nintendo don’t include digital sales…do the other companies? Or is this a physical only chart? If not then TOTK is absolutely smashing it!

I absolutely loved BOTW and was a little underwhelmed by TOTK to begin with (I’m
not into building stuff really) but as I have progressed I’m seeing the greatness in this game and am really enjoying it. Nintendo always does these big games without apologies and for that I love them even more

Re: Super Mario 3D All-Stars Updated To Version 1.1.0, Sunshine Gets GameCube Controller Support

Chris55

The pro controller is perfect, I do have a GameCube and controllers but don’t think I’ll bother getting the adapter.

HOWEVER the invert options are essential for me, have spent a bit of time on all three games since I purchased at launch, but the lack of invert option just constantly pissed me off. And I haven’t gone back to it since. Hopefully this will allow me to properly get back into the game.

Re: Pikmin 3 Opening Week Physical Sales Were Lower On Switch Than Wii U (UK)

Chris55

@Laxeybobby
I agree, I own a switch because I grew up with Nintendo but I’m now old (lol.) I play it on my own but also get my nephew and niece involved regularly, they are always pushing me to get a new game. There has been a good stream of games that I have purchased and spent a bloody fortune on! We played Pikmin 3 demo (never played it) and we all loved it. However I have spent way to much on Mario all stars and ring fit, Mario bro’s etc to justify another purchase at this time. The game is great, but I’ll wait till we have completed the other games before purchasing .

Re: RollerCoaster Tycoon 3: Complete Edition Confirmed For Nintendo Switch

Chris55

Love this game! Spent many days/weeks playing it on the PC when I was a bit younger. Tried to boot it last year on the old disc I had but couldn’t get it to run on PC.
Looked into RCT4 (reviews *****!) then looked into Planet Coaster ....that would have involved spending £100s on new graphics cards, was disappointed! So the fact I am going to be able to build new parks on the SWITCH is freaking amazing, can not wait happy switch owner!

Re: Where To Pre-Order Super Mario 3D All-Stars On Nintendo Switch

Chris55

Amazon U.K. has it available. Just pre-ordered! Never played Mario 64 properly and never even had a go at Galaxy. Played Sunshine right through on my GameCube all those years ago. Looking forward to getting stuck in. Will be interesting to see how this ‘limited’ release thing plays out......is it just a ploy? Personally I have never pre-ordered a physical release, but the incentive that I may somehow have a ‘rare’ copy made me do it. I was planning on purchasing at release regardless (digital or physical - normally doesn’t bother me.) However this Direct deffo pushed me into the pre order. Still happy mind

Re: Talking Point: So, Where Does Switch Fit Into Sony And Microsoft's Next Gen Landscape?

Chris55

Lol, Nintendo don’t compete with the ‘next gen’ fight. That’s for the middle people without kids (maybe 16 to 35).
Nintendo get the younger kids (thanks to the parents buying it) then when they grow up and have kids, they show all the cool Nintendo stuff to their kids, it’s a self perpetuating cycle. As long as the IPs and the quality is maintained then they will never need to compete with Sony and MS directly.

Re: Nintendo Of Europe Teases Blockbuster Switch Sale, Kicks Off This Week

Chris55

For me Digital is just so much easier, invested in a large SD for the extra space. The hassle of taking/changing the cartridge when I’m out or equally when I’m sat on the sofa and can’t be arsed to get up and change the game, having it on the console is the best way.
However the pricing of digital downloads is verging on the ridiculous at times. The physical cartridge (with manufacturing/distribution and store profit to consider) is more often than not cheaper than the digital copy! This is madness as the digital cost is zero at the point of sale.

Sales are good but bringing the cost of digital down to retail is essential!!

Re: The Switch Is "Teetering On The Brink Of Becoming Outdated", Says The Financial Times

Chris55

It’s ALL about the software duh! Who wrote this FT article?? Without the software the hardware is irrelevant. Obviously the Hardware needs to be fit for purpose but overwhelmingly the software is what counts - and the big N knows that market better then most. Yes they lean predominantly towards the younger generation but then those kids grow up and want their kids to play the games they did and the cycle continues.....forever!
