@Yorumi that is fair, but I have read a bit about this and the news seems to be genuine in most high-profile cases. Jim Sterling also has a few videos on the subject that are worth watching if you want to realise how badly some publishers treat their workers.

This news would not have affected me much as a kid, but now that I know better I can make more ethical decisions about how I spend my money. There is no shortage of good games around, and any studio that exploits their people like this shall not see a single penny of my cash.

Rotten Tomatoes operates on a recommend/not recommend basis, which I find more effective for a medium like film. Scores would be too arbitrary for my taste.

I'll be getting it for the intricate plot.

Interestingly, I've come to realise Rotten Tomatoes often closely matches my impressions of a film while the metascore is usually very wide off the mark.

@JLPick why does it suck? Besides others being able to play those games, you'll also have the chance to enjoy them in a new way if you want to.

I like the Switch UI as it is, snappy and clean. I don't want all the crap 'features' I have on PS4 and don't care about on Switch too.

How about spending some of those billions to employ enough staff to properly maintain your cash cow, Epic? God businesses are greedy.

@mereel This has happened to two of my joycons already and I am not a heavy gamer by any means. Meanwhile the sticks on my 2013 Vita are still dead accurate. I wish Nintendo would subcontract making the Switch to anyone who built the Vita. That was one sturdy machine.

I mostly use mine in handheld mode and it's honestly a bit bulky and heavy for that. I'd snap up a lighter/smaller Switch in an instant even without detachable joycons or a dock.

This makes sense. Standards of living have been constantly on the rise in China for three decades. At some point people start to value time and convenience above money and will buy games instead of pirating them.

Any download-required/online-only/no-cartridge-inside game must invariably come in simple white boxes, with huge warnings covering at least 75% of the box art, preferrably accompanied by some disgusting image.
I suggest the photograph of a depressed kid staring blankly into the mandatory download screen and thinking of suicide, with a large speech bubble saying THIS PRODUCT MAY HARM YOU AND PEOPLE YOU LOVE.

Something about the art style irks me.

Intrigued at first, but 200 is more than twice what I would be willing to pay for this product.

I don't play competitive online shooters anymore but it would be great to have Apex on Switch. Quite a few people look forward to having the chance to play this game on the go.

And people say Kojima is weird.

Those graphics are so off-putting. I think I'll stick with Salt and Sanctuary for my portable Bloodborne-lite fix for now.

Which is not exactly what this article is reporting. And the part you have helpfully quoted still does not make it clear what 'reputable' means in this context. I think this would be a better news article if that kind of basic information were also provided.

'Reputable' in what sense?
What makes the likes of Hasbro more reputable than, say, Apple? Without knowing at least a bit about the methodology employed this information is pretty much meaningless.

This is a rather sad list. I don't really mind though as I have around a billion games in my backlog.

I am playing New Super Mario Bros on ds and it is superb. Is the second installation more of the same? That would be what I'd want from the game.

I guess I am pretty much in the minority here, but I was bored to death playing the Witcher 3. Very bland lead character, clunky combat and movement that feels like a chore, and a mildly interesting plot that is not nearly enough to carry 150 hours of gameplay.

Looks like crap, but cool regardless.

Even if everything else goes well, no parent is going to pick 'the Mad Box' over the competition for their ten year old.

When I bought a switch on launch, I had not touched a Nintendo console since the original NES in the early 90's.

I was a Sega/PC/Playstation gamer all these years. Getting a switch, however, and playing BOTW, was like entering a long lost world. There was nothing like it on the PS4 or PC.

I have been (re)discovering Nintendo ever since. I soon bought a 3ds, and a classic SNES afterwards. All my gaming time is spent on Nintendo now; my two PS4's do not get turned on for months. And after the arrival of Civ 6 and Diablo on switch, I can finally retire my PC.

This has been my most enjoyable gaming period ever. I know that Nintendo is another corporation and all that, but if nintendo were a person, I would hug them.

And a great part of all this has been Nintendo Life and its great, positive, community. The internet seems to be drowning in a sea of negativity these days, but NL, and its community are a notable exception. I just want to extend my thanks to NL and all of you commentators for not giving in to the nihilism and pessimism that surrounds us almost everywhere else.

Just wanted to say that sometimes when I am browsing Nintendo-related content on Youtube, I come across some of your videos, not realising it of course until after I have played the video and heard the familiar voice. It kind of feels like having an old friend unexpectedly show up at a party you did not expect them to attend.
