@wollywoo Same here, it's just a bit too vast and all-consuming that I crashed out of it. I would like to get back into it, but at the moment I prefer dipping in an out of different (less demanding ) games.
I never had a NES growing up - my path went Atari 2600 > Commodore 64 > Atari ST > SNES. I remember first playing Super Mario Bros. at a friend’s house and I knew then this was something very special compared to the games I had played and owned so far. I’m still exploring and playing NES games today through Nintendo Classics. At age 46 I managed to complete SMB: The Lost Levels again (for the first time since 1993), and played and completed the first Castlevania and Metroid games (without rewinds or reverting back to save states)
I just completed the Lost Levels again, some thirty odd years after first finishing the All-Stars version. This time I beat the (harder) Famicon version.
I’m replaying the Lost Levels at the moment (without save states and rewinds). I’d completed the Mario All-Stars version when I was a kid which had you restart on the level you were on if you lose all your lives, but the original has you go back to the beginning of the world. I’ve got to World 5 so far but it’s a devious game.
Honestly I've not gamed much at all in the last 2-3 years. After pre-ordering Switch 2 i've picked up the original Switch and been playing it pretty non-stop to clear some backlog.
As an older gamer, my first was Super Mario Kart. It's hard for those who didn't grow up with the game to understand just how great this first instalment was. I revisited it on the Switch a couple of years back and managed to resurrect my old skills and get gold in all 150cc races. It remains the Mario Kart game that most rewards player skill, rather than the massive luck factor of blue shells and the like.
I loved that you could play multiplayer against bots. Me and me friends used to create an expert maxed out Bot with Shigeru Miyamoto’s face and have great fun as he slaughtered us all!

They look great - I imagine this reveal wasn't planned and is a response to the leak.
Re: How Are You Finding Switch Game And App Compatibility On The Switch 2?
The only game I've had issues with is Alien: Isolation - ocassionally the sound glitches or cuts out all together

Re: Everything Included In The Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition & Free 3.0 Update

Re: Mario Kart World Wins "Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game" Of Gamescom 2025
DK Bananza is so much better than Mario Kart World in my opinion!

Sad that I read a spoiler in this review before I'd reached it in the game...

Re: The LEGO Mario Set Has Introduced A Brand New Mushroom Kingdom Character
I imagine Lego are wanting to shy away from the word “bullet” for such a young target audience
