@GrailUK yes, but... "This review originally went live in 2006, and we're updating and republishing it to mark the arrival of N64 games on Nintendo Switch Online."
"There were about 120 cinematics to do, it was too big an overscope"
I was frustrated how much cinematics were in Dread mainly at the beginning. Metroid does not need any cinematics, they just constantly interrupt the flow of gameplay....
@Cosmo_Joe actually nobody says anything about the price ...but more like why there is the AC expansion, why we have to pay 30 dollars more for another 9 games from N64? why there are those Sega Genesis games when nobody has ever asked for them? Ppl has been asking for GBA/GC/N64 games for ages!
@BloodNinja exactly ..Does Nintendo want to fight warez emulator sites? Then they should put around 1000 old games to the NSO service. I mean, cmon, its been 4 years and there are only 100 NES/SNES games combined and after 4 years they decided to upgrade the service with 9 ...yes... 9!!!!!! N64 games ....That´s sick, that´s arogant, that´s absurd, that´s ridiculous.
@Jayenkai what? it is not ideal at all ...What does Animal Crossing have to do with NSO? What does the expansion have to do with NES/SNES/N64/Genesis games? What does the expansion have to do with players paying for the service to play all those old games? The expansion has absolutely zero use for them, but they are forced to pay for it. Nintendo must have gone mad...
Putting the AC expansion to the Expansion Pack was a big big mistake and failure .. 1. first, it made the service more expensive 2. second, what the hell has the expansion to do with NES/SNES/N64/Genesis games? 3. third, it caused a big confussion among AC players wanting to buy it
i just do not understand who´s idea was to merge NSO+EP and the DLC for AC ...I mean....why? ...Why put these things together? It just made NSO+EP more expensive and AC players confused...
I think the worst problem is not the price, but the content we get for it. We all know how lazy Nintendo became in terms of releasing new NES/SNES games in the last years, how Nintendo does not care anymore at all. First, Nintendo released new games (mostly good) evey month, then it was every three or four months (mostly garbage). So even when we know what games are gonna be released in the future for N64, like Paper Mario, people are sceptical and frankly justifiably. There is just not enough games, released or planned, for people to say that it's all worth the money. Because to be honest, there is a high probability that Nintendo will abandon releasing new games for N64 sooner than we would want to admit. Judging the current NSO status, the high probability is basically the certainty.
the music is just awful ...I mean when I image myself playing this game and listening to such one-instrument tracks filled with neverending shredding notes for hours, I can see killing myself...
it is OLED so it can cause the burn-in problem ...it can be easily avoided by developers who might add some options to turn off the HUD, which always is static and it can cause the problem
@Seacliff oh that is a pity ... I can imagine brutal hard optional bosses giving you optional abilities that you can use to gain certain optional reward which cannot be taken without the optional abilities ...that is why I do not understand why this game got a 10/10 when it does not add anything new to the genre/series.
I am mostly a PC gamer but I actually hate the PC community itself ...so much hypocrisy and piracy ... I actually reported one site directly to Nintendo because of this
playing just-released games via emulator is a huge crime ...I play ancient games via emulators that cannot be bought or were never released in EU on PS1 (Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Cross, etc), but this what is happening to Metroid Dread is something completely different

Re: Review: Mario Tennis - The Game That Gave Us Waluigi
it reaches hardly a 4/10 in 2021 ....
Re: Review: Sin and Punishment - A Genuine Treasure And No Mistake

Re: Review: Super Mario 64 - The Best Launch Game Ever Made

Re: Review: Super Mario 64 - The Best Launch Game Ever Made
@Tisteg80 yes, just like Super Mario Odyssey
Re: Review: Super Mario 64 - The Best Launch Game Ever Made
This game does not deserve a 10/10 in 2021 at all ....
Re: Rumour: Switch Online Datamine Uncovers Plans For "At Least" 38 N64 Games And 52 Sega Genesis Titles
@Leksa The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing
Re: Rumour: Switch Online Datamine Uncovers Plans For "At Least" 38 N64 Games And 52 Sega Genesis Titles
NSO = 20 bucks/year
NSO + EP = 50 bucks/year
NSO + EP + GB/GBA = 100 bucks/year???

Re: Every Nintendo Switch Online Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Game Ranked
boring games ....i did not buy a Nintendo console to play SEGA games
Re: Nintendo's First Patch For Metroid Dread Is Now Available, Here's What's Included
well, the outstanding 10/10 was definitely an overreaction... the game is superb, but not that good
Re: Metroid Dread Studio Hit With Allegations Of Poor Organisation And Management
@deucezulu22 constant gameplay interruptions are not an evolution
Re: Poll: Which Sega Genesis / Mega Drive Games Should You Play First Via Nintendo Switch Online?
none ...I do not own a Nintendo console to play Sega games
Re: Metroid Dread Studio Hit With Allegations Of Poor Organisation And Management
@Lordplops exactly...it is just common in the offices

Re: Random: Uh-Oh, Nintendo's Switch Online 'Expansion Pack - Overview Trailer' Is Generating A Lot Of Dislikes
@mmarkster too complicated
NSO + N64 + Sega Pack: $29.99
NSO + Both Expansion Packs + Animal Crossing DLC: $49.99
this would do

Re: Don't Worry, You'll Still Have Access To "Certain Things" From Animal Crossing's DLC When Your NSO Sub Expires
@Bentendo1609 but there is no reason for that, Nintendo should just release expansions the classic way, no reason to "invent" new ideas...

Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
@Denoloco oh really, so how many VC games can you play on your Wii today?
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
40e for Europe, perfect!
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
@Bearzilla823 yeah of course, 20 bucks vs 50 bucks, but when you compare 4 bucks per month (NSO) vs 4 bucks per month (NSO+EP), that is the same
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
@Bearzilla823 but that´s per year, meaning per month it is 4 bucks, so no change
Re: Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Release Date And Pricing Revealed
I mean the price is not bad at all, as it was not changed (4 bucks per month), but you have to buy the whole year in advance ... that´s questionable

@Classic603 in gameplay

geez Mercury Steam acts as if a 11 months work meant a 11 minutes work....

7,99e would be a fair price

@anoyonmus nobody compares really, it is just fun
Re: Review: Metroid Dread - Quite Possibly The Best Metroid Game Ever Made
I am 2 hours in and I am shocked how many cutscenes the game has. They are useless and they interrupt the gameplay flow.

"Some boss fights may really test you to breaking point before you crack them"
Re: Square Enix Unveils Dungeon Encounters, Directed By Hiroyuki Ito
the game´s gameplay might be good, but cmon Square, the graphics is bland, uninspiring, boring ...even indie titles do not go for such minimalism
