Huh. Didn't know about that kinda problem. I was kinda hoping for loading times being reduced but hey. I 100%ed the game anyway... Glad its fixed regardless.
@AJWolfTill I never said she's the ONLY Uprising character I'd want to add. She's just one of them. And yeah, her being such a minor character, I knew it would be unlikely.
If only Capcom would at least do SOMETHING with Mega Man. At least the fans (and Nintendo as far as Smash Bros. is concerned) give the Blue Bomber some love. Looks interesting at the very least.
Gotta go with Ashley. Its funny because some of my friends were talking about some potential newcomers and one really wanted Ashley in. I guess she is....in some form!
I also like Rosalina and Luma's picture; it'll be interesting seeing how some of their attacks differ.
I really think a lot of this stems from Western developers attempting to work with a Japanese company. Translation issues and design philosophies clashing will make for some conflict. Contrast Microsoft and Sony, who seem to cater to Western developers more. Sony is still Japanese but more and more it feels like a Western company. Just look at the more Western oriented launch of the PS4....and the fact that Japan isn't getting it until later! A while ago a Bethesda guy stated that during development of PS4 and Xbox One, the companies would check with developers to get feedback for how to build it, while Nintendo is more isolated.
I'm not saying Nintendo should out and out copy their rivals, but I can see how some third party developers can be slighted. I'm really all for something akin to third party exclusives rather than out and out multiplatforms, myself. Not having to spread yourselves thin and no worries about porting to different systems. Like No More Heroes or Zombi U...but then....you need advertising for that too so...
I thought that screenshot was a stage from Smash 4 for a moment. I might be a tad obsessed. Nice to see information teased out throughout the year. Having to wait until E3 for any information....I'm not sure I can take that anymore, for anything!
I'm not super heavy into the series, but I did enjoy the DS titles. I didn't think much of Mirror of Fate's demo though. I would like Konami in general to stick with Nintendo, but at the same time, I can't say I think Lords of Shadow was a good way for the franchise to move on.
I agree with the above article, and also emphasize improved third party support. Here's hoping by Smash 4 and Mario Kart 8 the online infrastructure is better. And there should be some nice ads for those along with some others.
Gotta go with number one here. Love me some tall girls I guess this means she'll be light and KO'd easily, based on what Sakurai says. So...the opposite of her Mario Kart portrayals...
I was somewhat interested in this game when I first heard of it, and I hear such praise thrown its way. After I slog through my backlog, I'll definitely pick this up. Great read too! Glad to see a dev that's down to earth and, dare I say, human.
I'm not even that big of a dog person but...that fuzzy face! In HD! I never did think about it until now but...yeah, a 3DS game represented as an item in the Wii U game...though, isn't the X Bomb from Kid Icarus Uprising in it too? Maybe items will be uniform throughout...
100 Rings granting a life by itself ups this game a few points in my book. It just seemed like an odd oversight and I'm glad that's into it. I admit I was kinda...bummed about the game at first but its grown on me. It can still bend me over its knee and break me, but I do have fun. I do wish the Wisp powers were more...y'know, USEFUL instead of being just an alternate path.
I honestly hope this isn't true, only so the game can have the most time possible to polish it and make it great! I would say Summer at the earliest, maybe August? If it was, I'd be wondering what we'd see in the Fall and Winter of 2014 then.
That said, maybe they will release one version ahead of the other. Like, the 3DS one; you'd get time to get that mysterious feature you can transfer between versions ready for the Wii U....but who knows. I do feel if any version would pop out faster, it'd be 3DS...otherwise, who would buy the portable one if it came out last? Smash on the go is amazing but I feel the Wii U one would steal the show.
I'm in the minority here, but I really like the Mega Man Soccer one...he just glares so intensely at Sonic and Trainer. I really like how cold and emotionless Mega Man is being depicted (so far, anyway). A heartless killing machine matched in bloodlust only by Villager
That part about Okami and Viewtiful Joe not existing had he continued on with Devil May Cry...that gets me. It'd be a crime to deny the gaming industry gems like that. As long as he can at least take a peek at it from time to time, I'm happy. And I trust the whole of Platinum anyway. Bring in Bayo!
I'm really glad the article mentioned LEGO City Undercover and The Wonderful 101. Those games need a bit more exposure!
I'm not sure I agree with the "drop the price AGAIN" point...at least this soon. True, I just got a Wii U before the price drop, but this price drop just began and we have yet to see a return on it . Maybe once sales pick up there can be one...though I personally think $200 like he suggests is nuts. I mean...we're just NOW getting PS3 and Xbox 360 sales in that ball park.
Regardless of who the fourth character is, I'm happy Nintendo is using their stable of characters and placing them into games. Kirby's Return to Dreamland, Super Mario 3D World and now Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. I wouldn't mind this spreading to, say, Zelda or Metroid in some way.
I'll go ahead and say it: bring back those "Wii Would Like to Play: ads! And there's at least one thing going on in this that I like: they show GAMES and the GAMEPLAY. As visually impressive as the Xbox One and PS4 ads can be...half the time they don't show any of the games that you play on the system. Of course, I'd like if this ad also showcased the Game Pad features and Miiverse and such but its a good start!
I'd love Bayo 1 on Wii U. Granted, sales might not be super hot for it but it'd be nice. Kamiya says many things though If we're not careful, he'll get tired of all these suggestions for porting Bayo 1 over, like he did with Platinum making a Star Fox game.
I think the Game Pad has lots of potential and can help Nintendo stand out. It can't just be a graphical arms race (that said...Nintendo is behind in lots of features, like the way the eShops are handled, so they have a lot to learn).
I just think that no one's really hit on really great ways the Game Pad can be used besides, say, a move list for fighting games and a map or inventory. Its nice to see the map/move list at all times, but you still have to take your eyes off the action.
I think where the Game Pad can really differentiate itself is with multiplayer. The ways you can change up the game are really interesting, and Nintendo Land shows that.
As far as a "Wii 2" or "Wii HD"...I don't think that would help just by themselves. When I hear people talk about the Wii U it is less "I don't like the Game Pad" and more "What is Wii U?" or "It has no games that appeal to me." Really, you need marketing to get your message across and the software to back it up...and we might see that happen now after a very low-key year.
I just don't get predictions like this. There are just too many variables. Its not impossible nor improbable that the Wii U's lifetime sales will be that amount, if not more or less but you simply can't know. Did people expect Mario Kart Wii to outsell GRAND THEFT AUTO IV? I didn't. It just seems like people like to pretend they know what they are talking about but you can only predict so much.
As I look at my backlog of games recently...things like the Directors Cut of Deus Ex Human Revolution and Zombi U go untouched...while I played Sonic Lost World all the way through and almost got everything. Granted, that's not pure Nintendo (and I'm kinda broken up about this particular game) but I do feel that "modern AAA" games don't resonate with me. Nintendo is Nintendo and they don't compete with Sony and Microsoft in the same way. Its not that they couldn't; that's not who they are.
Nintendo will always be unique and seems to put fun first, which I appreciate. And I appreciate Sony and Microsoft doing something different too. I just wish people would put down their staunch fanboyism and give more things a chance. I only owned a Wii last generation because of money issues but there were a great amount of games on the other consoles too. Just give fun a chance!
Still haven't gotten around to Zombi U yet (Have it but I'm no good with scary stuff ) but that whole approach to character death was why I got it.
Awakening was my first Fire Emblem game and I went Classic...and I feel I "understand" the game better that way. I still didn't like how, say, certain characters just "retire" though. For my Hard mode playthrough, I purposefully killed off any love interest of Chroms...and then Sully still came back and married him in the end. :/
I can only wait for so long! But its gonna be worth it. I've wanted a game like this for years! Different characters with different abilities! And with Rosalina in, maybe we'll see other people joining in...MAYBE in DLC or in future games.
ojskdjsdojaid I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN WAIT! These ads are better than the US's ads, that's for sure. Don't know why they have to be so corny. These at least show the GAME.
I've been very entertained by my Wii U since I got it a few months ago. Lego City, Wonderful 101...even the surprisingly fun Nintendo Land. And I'm still working my way back to the heavy hitters of Pikmin 3, NSMBU and Wind Waker HD, among a few other things. Here's hoping year 2 and beyond breathes some life into it!
Really glad to see them helping out. Granted, its different from them working primarily on the game. We've heard teases that Miyamoto wouldn't mind Retro taking a crack at a Zelda game...maybe add Monolith Soft someday?

Here's hoping that comes out in the West. Seems likely, anyway.

Phosphora!!!! While I had hoped she'd be playable, I also knew it was EXTREMELY unlikely, but I'm glad to see some exposure for her nonetheless!

Samus and Little Mac. Now, I don't ship but...they're being shipped so hard right now!

I dunno, I just like how ExtremeSpeed works with Aura now.
Re: Sonic Lost World Sales Reached 640,000 in 2013
The game has some problems but I enjoyed it. I think marketing really hurt its sales. I didn't see any ads until well AFTER it was released...
Re: Feature: A Week of Super Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS Screens - Issue Twenty Three
Lucario's nice and likely has the most attention drawn to it, but I like the Beetle item. I was so sure it would be Link's new side special though....
Re: Legend of Zelda: Iron Knuckle Encounter Goes to LEGO Cuusoo Review
