Re: Masahiro Sakurai Says There's No Correct Way To Play Super Smash Bros.

I think the best part about Smash compared to other fighting games is the amount of flexibility you have. With tons of stages, game modes, and additional rules that can be added and turned off at the press of a button, it really allows you to customize it into the type of game you wanna play. If you want a casual party fighter you can do that, but there's also the option to go more competitive.

I wonder if Devs still see Nintendo systems as the kids/casuals system. I know it's probably unlikely, but considering how half of Ubisoft's Switch output seems to be Just Dance and digital boardgames, and how EA sees it as nothing but a FIFA machine part of me wonders if there might be some truth to that. Although Nintendo's marketing and games make this system out to not be one of those things (I mean what child wants to play Fire Emblem and Bayonetta?), But I feel like a bit of the stigma remains, especially with how other people I know view the console.

@rjejr yeah I have a feeling that might be true. The Nintendo section always seems disorganized at my Best Buy, and it's game selection is somewhat lacking. I can't believe they have Mega Man 11 for Xbox One but not Switch. Surely that game would fit more with the types of people that own the Switch. I even remember them having a pre-order for Captian Toad for months after it was released with no physical copy on shelves.

@rjejr Thanks! Prices vary here. The Smash ones are about 16 dollars where as the BOTW ones cost 22. I think the Guardian was 40 bucks.

My local stores are also absolutely filled with the Amiibo Festival figures. My local Best Buy only has Lottie and reissued Pac Man's. They have so many they are practically giving them away with systems for a while. I also experienced the same thing with the dust. It's a shame the Animal Crossing ones didn't seem well because as toys alone they look amazing on display.

My best deal would have had to have been a Palutena for 2 bucks from a closing down Toys R Us. Oddly enough it was the only Amiibo they had, and the shelves were loaded with them. I always find it odd that stores always have an abundance of less popular characters. As I stated earlier my Best Buy only has Pacman and no other Smash amiibos. They are all put in a bin in one corner with little attention. Come to think about it, my Best Buy is lacking in care to Nintendo in general! They barely have any new games, and the Switch display's TV is broken, with no one fixing it.
