Nothing for me. I'm sure Monster Boy is fun, but my plate is full as is, and that's before Smash Ultimate and the Sega Genesis Classics collection, so I'll be waiting for a good sale on that one.
Aside from katamari I'm done buying games for the year (and until FE comes out...I can do it! I believe in myself!) but I'll be loading up the wishlist.
I too am possessed by the goddess of poverty.
Nothing for me this week. Still enjoying all the games I got on sale during Black Friday.
Monster Boy has piqued my interest, but I need to see some reviews before I drop $40 on a game. Especially given that Smash is right around the corner and I won't have time to play it anyway.
Abzu is a great game, and a bargain at half the price. I picked it up two years ago on Steam for $7 and that seemed fair, given its length.
Nothing for me this week.
Huh. Knew absolutely nothing about the Asterix game? I'll keep an eye out for a review. I'll grab Monster Boy eventually.
Cattails for me please and thank you.
That’s a lot of stuff, but none of it is for me. Katamari and Smash.
Seven more bedtimes, folks.
The ones that interest me this week are:
Cattails, Coffee Crisis, Stardust Galaxy Warriors: Stellar Climax, and The First Tree. For anyone that loves old school point and clicks, Secret Files: Tunguska is a good choice. Played it and beat it on PC (where you probably can find it for cheaper too lol )
I may get coffee crisis. Surprisingly looks pretty good and humorous
Nothing, but I did pre-order Smash...
Wait WHAT!? Is this a new Monster Boy or is this just a physical version?
I just finished Dark Souls on my Switch earlier this week. I'm hoping to get back into Okami or Pokemon Pikachu. I'm holding my money for Smash and Guacamelee 2
Looking forward to Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, I have it on physical pre-order even.
Pre-ordered it via 365games, which often provide import stock for sale in the UK, but they've already run out of pre-orders.
I saw Superbrothers in the description and instantly thought of that song from jet Set Radio. That game needs a Switch port!
I have Abzu & Monster Boy pre-loaded. First Tree is on my wish list, but I'll likely wait for a sale on that one.
FYI, physical copy of Gear Club 2 is $49.99 on Amazon (US), not $60 as stated above. After a drought of games that did not appeal, this last few weeks has been incredible. GRIP, Horizon Chase, OutRun and Gear Club 2 on the racing front alone....
Nothing for me this week. Next week however...
If Switch is going to keep having this many games each week they REALLY need to start having more than 1 store update a week. At least half of those titles will never be seen once SSBU releases, at least if they spread them out people might at least see them all. Maybe put the retail list out on Tuesday for starters. It's just too much to even read through.

Put Abzû and and Cattails on my wishlist.
All of these games I keep buying made me buy that 400 gb micro sd over Black Friday... so now that I have the space, I’m torn between whether I should get Smash digitally or physically... Digital would be easier to get but are there any changes in power or speed in how the game plays or anything like that versus getting physical? 🤔
@Ralizah And the sad part? I was hyped for Monster Boy and all of that gradually died off throughout the months for me.
At least there's Guacamelee 2...
Nothing for me. The wait for Smash Ultimate enters its final stage.
Cattails! Looks so cute!
Got Horizon Chase Turbo last night and it is excellent.
Now I'm just waiting for Smash and Katamari.
Sigh some more things to add to the wishlist, I'm just too bogged down with my backlog.
@StephenYap3 Monster Boy is one of those games that inspires no hype in me whatsoever, yet I'm certain I'll have a grand time with it whenever I do get around to it.
@DockEllisD
Thanks for in the info! Might look into it now
Nothing for me this week
Genesis Collection on Dec 7th is waiting followed by Sega Ages Phantasy Star on the 13th.
Moster Boy would be day one for me... But not at 40 freaking dollars. We'll see when it's on sale for half that price, but who knows when that will be.
Can't justify Monster Boy at $40 when I have such a huge backlog, especially when I just added Crash, Wolfenstein, and Skyrim to it due to the sale while still playing Pokemon and won't touch any of it for months once Smash hits
How timely, I just watched a video from Luke Morse about fixing an actual Toki arcade board.
Apparently one of the big issues is that there are some chips, including an important custom video chip, which are placed vertically and can as such easily snap and crumble, presumably from the pressure of age and use.
A reason for emulation (such as I'm guessing this remake is at least partly?).
I pre-ordered Monster Boy physical. I watched a number of game play videos and a big fan of games that are Metroidvania anything. What made me interested in the physical edition was that it comes with a printed manual (remember those?).
I have a pre-order for smash ultimate so who knows how much time will get eaten up by these games.
Bring on December!
Nothing for me out of this list. I did end up buying South Park: The Stick of Truth during the eShop Black Friday sale though!
Nothing from this list, as I just downloaded R-Type Dimensions yesterday. One of my all-time favorite games, plus the sequel that I never played. I'm covered.
@Alucard83 Thanks to just watching Castlevania on Netflix I know what Alucard means.
Is that an X-Men avatar? I can kinda make out maybe Psylocke but that's about it, unless they've mutated Wolverine into a blue-haired anime girl.
Nothing for me. Abzu will most likely be a discounted purchase at some point. Wishlist, activate!
Wonder Boy spiritual successor is finally here. I'll get it when it is discounted a little bit.
@rjejr Nah it's indeed from Castlevania. I love to use this nickname since I don't like dark forces . Castlevania Symphony of the Night best Castlevania ever . Just love it
Nothing. That's cool, though.
I'm happy to have gotten Horizon Chase Turbo last night, so that'll keep me occupied until SMASH!
I've been waiting for MonsterBoy for years! Whoo-Hoo!
I thought ARK was suppose to release on 11/30?
@rjejr Not like the Wii U days anymore, is it? Now, we can complain about too many potentially good games. ... but still not enough classic Nintendo console releases, that is the one constant.
My backlog is fierce and I have no time to play, lately. I think we are going to have a couple of days on the weekend before Xmas where we just open up and play with all the stuff we haven't gotten to play with yet from last Xmas.
I want the first tree- that looks charming.
Monster Boy and Gear.Club Unlimited 2 are certainly on my wishlist. I have too much to play and I need a bigger microSD. When I get Smash, I’m hoping the update and DLC fit.
Recently beat Crystalis and several other games on the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection. I recommend it to any fellow retro gamers.
@aaronsullivan "Now, we can complain about too many potentially good games"
The irony of me complaining about this isn't lost of me. I've never complained about VC though, I don't get why people want to pay so much money for such old games.
For the record, I technically wasn't complaining about too many games, I was complaining about the way Nintendo announces them and how the eShop is set up. And I'm not convinced there are too many "good" games, though that's just opinion. But with so many games, how about release 2 or 3 a day, every day, so people have a chance to read up on them. Or every other day. Week in and week out I see how long the list is and move on. There's enough I WANT to play already w/o trying to find more. And honestly, I don't think most of those games are worth it, and games that are will be on PS+ soon, so I'll take the rental.
Enjoy your back-to-back Christmas.
Great week!! Picked up Horizon and R Type last night, then Golf Story and Furi showed up today in the mail from LR & Yooka Laylee should be any day! My next kills are Toki, Gear Club 2, Monster Boy, and Coffee Crisis!! Waiting for Outrun as well!! All this doesn’t include the 51 games i bought on Black Friday!!! All Good stuff!! 😜🤣
@Alucard83 I clicked on your name to go to your profile page and I was able to make out your avatar there, on the big PC screen, not my phone, so that helped w/ some of my confusion.
I want Monster Boy for sure.
But got my fill of games on black Friday. Ill definitely get it soon. Exactly the games I love to play on Switch.
I thought Ark survival was coming out tomorrow??
I bought Arcade Archives Route 16, which should have been listed on this page, but isn't. Early Sunsoft! Plays like a combo of Venture and Rally-X.
Once upon a time, there was a Nintendo 3ds system. Oh wait, those still sell like crazy. But where are the games for it?!
Monster Boy, all the way.
@rjejr Yeah, I get that it's about the rollout and presentation, and I think you are right. This made much more sense when it was important to have the release of new games look "bigger". Now, maybe just let developers roll them out when they want, but have a running daily update.
Most gamers aren't going to get the daily information to bubble up in whatever online scenario they are in, though, so I'm not sure.
Gifts lined up for the one-two Holiday punch for your family? Starts tomorrow, right?
@aaronsullivan "lined up"
Literally, as in on the bed, two rows, mixing and matching. Christmas was pretty easy this year, SSBU for 1, Pokemon the other, but those 8 nights have been difficult the past few years. We keep saying we're going to stop but then I keep buying stuff. Another 2 years and the 1 will be in college, took the SAT this morning, I'll mail him eight $10 bills.
I don't think Ntinedo can go all willy nilly and release games when they are done, but even splitting that list in half, Tuesdays and Thursdays - most new games on PS4 and X1 come out on Tuesdays I think - would give some of those digital only an indie titles a little breathing room. Of course Nintny only releases it's big games on Friday's and Sundays so it's already a mess listing everything on Thursday.
I just went and checked, 16 of the titles listed on this page do NOT say "today", they have another date in Nov or Dec. 13 said today, 1 didn't say anything. That's 30 games releasing on at least 5 different days. Why have 1 way-too-long-to-read announcement?
Gotta go have lunch w/ my wife, she's going to her 30th HS reunion tonight in midtown. I got out of it, she's going w/ 4 or 5 of her friends from back then.
Oh man, college is getting real, eh? You've got to keep it going with the gifts if you've made it this far... of course, that's the kind of thinking that makes me spend more than we should every Xmas. lol.
We are transitioning past "toys" for the most part, which is wonderful as we are buried in toys accumulated from family, and we are finally digging in and donating stuff making much more room.
Still, toys are easier. Making lists for grandparents and uncles is trickier.
I have never done my own HS reunion. I went with my wife once which was interesting.
As for the games, it's just amazing how much is out there, for instance looking at Steam on a PC, and now Nintendo is catching up with the huge number.
Apple has gone very classy with their iOS App Store. It has articles, interviews, categorized topics and genre collections, right in the store, kind of making it a destination to explore, not just a list of apps with a couple of larger ads (like it used to be). Maybe Nintendo could do that. I don't know.
Finally, Monster Boy! I pre-ordered this so long ago and with it being delayed twice, I almost can't believe it's here. Can't wait to play it!
