But no, Sony is doing this too for **** sake, please return and consider Japanese developers, that was the Nintendo difference that made the full throttle on the world.
That's why we're here still talking of Super Castlevania IV, Xenoblade Chronicles and Resident Evil Rebirth.
Nintendo needs to be in-touch more with japanese developers before going western, it's the japanese developers that are being abandoned buy everybody else, while most of the western ones are harder to catch because they have their own place already.
I buy Nintendo consoles because i don't have the same western experience of Sony and Microsoft, go east! EAST! RIGHT WERE YOU ARE!
I like change, if not it's only gonna be the same game over and over.
Really, that's with NSMBU wasn't great, because it wasn't anything now. Look at the reaction to SM3DWorld after the last trailer, that's very different.
So do your work Aonuma and bring me my open world Zelda game on the Wii U that i've been waiting since the first on the NES.
If only Mario Party will get their cycling the boards and turns back i maybe be sligthly interested, this suck major ball comparing it with MP1 to 8, even the DS one was better than this and MP9.
This freedom is a try out for the freeroaming Wii U Zelda game, i'm sure of it. These changes are finally gonna in the direct where the first Zelda game left.
And people still didn't notice that this game has the spells of an FF, that's because it's set in the same universe as FFV (but a different world), hence why there is also a Job system.
Glad to be italian, also totally choosing the Japanese voice acting.
They Nintendo Life staff, by checking my previous comments, can confirm that all the times this game got a bad article i was saying that i was too early to judge and that if it expanded the 3D Land concept i would be great, well there you go.
It makes sense now delaying DKCTF to early 2014, this Mario would be too much competition while DK deserves it's own spot.
The Wii U it's also faster, i tried opening three different things:
1) Going in menĂ¹s seems now like 2/3 seconds faster 2) Miiverse opens also 2/3 seconds faster 3) Tried The Wonderful 101, seems like from all faster loading times you get to wait 10 seconds less till you arrive in the real gameplay from when you booth up the game. (Don't know if it is like so because it's an exclusive, so it's built for the console and adapted to it)
Really great, surely it's because today there's a Nintendo Direct, this is the only thing it's not address in the article but you also got plenty of informations i didn't know. 4PM for me, Italy, let's see some games that are coming and maybe a surprise exclusive for every console and i will be a happy hippo.
Nintendo was always the only one having a fanbase in China, even the recent iQue 3DS was sold legally there.
Xbox One will be sold not before 2014 and Wii U will come there in that period. But we all know that Asians don't like Microsoft in gaming, because of it's poor choices of gameplay. The only thing they was interested was Monster Hunter because of the vastity and possibilities of the game.
They are quite used to having MMO much better than Western ones, with ton of stuff to do an many variations on the gameplay.
At least this is were, i think, Nintendo is very strong. In the gameplay.
I hope to see the enanched version of Braverly Default, yes i'm european.
All the other games are known, apart for the recent surprise Wii Sports Club, but announcement of Wii U 2nd, and awaited, performance update would be great.
So i know they will have western exclusives both Xbox One and PS4.
My whole point is that Xbox One we already know is not gonna make a profit in Japan and it's gonna release in 2014 in that region, when the PS4 could have great Japanese developers from the start and that news says they're gonna delay it 3 months to febraury and even then they will have little to offer for the japanese audicence because they wanna compete with Xbox One making the PS4 an appeal for Western audicence. Not quite like when i played the PS1 and owned a PS2, eh? Not quite the evolution and rival for Nintendo, not quite the whole reason they got out the SNES project...
Think it this way: in Japan this fall they will only the Wii U as a new console, they will get a new Sonic, Mario and DKC. PS4 and Xbox One will release in different times during 2014 in that land with a smaller number of titles in their line-up.
I'm not saying all the world is favorable to Nintendo but clearly the Japanese market is for Ninty free to roam from now to, at least, February. Make your own conclusions.
Having the Steam console with more than 70% the same games you can get on PS4 and Xbox One but with Valve support will be a much better solution than the other two, simply because the possibility to interact with the Os and mess around to tweak the performance and flexibility it's a thing you can't do on no platform before.
The difference is, exactly the fact that PS4 and Xbox One don't aim at exclusive but multiplatforms, with Xbox One having no market in Japan whatsoever. Also, in an interview posted by Eurogamers the 20th of this month, Sony announced that they are going to delay the PS4 to february in Japan also because they want to have more Western developers than japanese.
So Nintendo can now have the occasion to give an hand to Japanese developers, like they did with SEGA and Platinum Games already (also Atlus puts great faith in Ninty), and give an unique feel on games that are Exclusives on this console. You don't find anything like X, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101 or Sonic Lost World on any other console.
And also almost all the western developers working on it are making all exclusives much like Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze, Zombi U and Lego City Undercover.
All of them are quite unique in their own way already and the gamepad and a, ever evolving, community like Miiverse, with an honest service like the eShop, also evolving everyday, it's quite a thing you never saw and you don't see others trying to reach out for this kind of deals.
Nintendo did cut the price of the Wii U the most they can to mantain a profit in the long run, they did (and i belive they will keep doing them) bundles for both "pro" and "casual" gamers, they have games that can be played at age 3 till more than 18 already and more will come.
Nintendo really just needs to realize that the Japanese developers are abandoned by Sony and Microsoft and reach out for them. This will truly give the Wii U a 'till Gamecube days kind of feel, that was half-lost with the Wii, the return of Nintendo as creative standpoint for Japanese developers.
Sorry for the long post, it's not just a response to you, as you may have noticed.
Sorry for double posting i forgot to comment on the article...
Anyway, i understand what he's doing and it's all cool this way. After that last project he still doesn't want to reveal, probably he's gonna be an overseer and a executive for the company, it's ok. He's done enough.
It's all good, but if it's not on a disc i won't buy it. Nintendo has not a Steam account system, so my Nintendo consoles, for now, are getting games only when they are on disc.
"When we look at the numbers, we thought — this is clearly where our audience is."
Finally they got it. Look at what Yoshida said about delaying the PS4 in Japan and what all Sony and Xbox One thinks of japanese gaming industry.
It's clear that japanese games, like SEGA ones, if they are going exclusives they better do it on Nintendo consoles.
Ni No Kuni didn't sell well in the West and even a multiplatform like Killer Is Dead (announced like the spiritual sequel of NMH2 that everybody wanted) didn't do anything.
Sony and Microsoft are turning to be western developer based console, Nintendo needs now to reach out to japanese and say "in the future we may have the most powerful console or not, but we care about you." That's gotta be it.
I don't belive that if Sonic Lost World was a multiplatform we would have seen this innovation in gameplay.
Seeing Tyrion Lannister go serious about games was the top of the pop for me. Maybe because i love GoT, but look at the face and what's holding, only a bazillion implications. xD
Nope, it's not the fun ride GTA should be, last good one was San Andreas because it didn't take itself seriously.
I'm playing Saints Row IV on PC right now, that reminds me of Vice City, believe me GTAV has taken clear inspiration from the Red Dead Redemption kind of dramatic plot, only too far more violent and disturbing to actually be called art.
The dialogues in GTAIV were just clusters of bad words and GTAV is only slightly under that.
I can tell you that Saints Row IV has less swears than GTAV, also when i finish SRIV i will have Watch_Dogs to pick up for me Wii U. I've plenty of innovative Free-Roaming games to play, next year i get a Free-Roaming RPG as X, and i spent 300 hours in the original Xenoblade Chronicles.
Really, GTAV is not the place i will search my creativity fix.
@Banker-Style I didn't cost 20£/€ at launch, it costed 50€ here in Italy if you picked it up, i repeat, AT-LAUNCH.
So really it's 9£/€ not 10, and you get the full online feature for free. That's a thing Xbox One and PS4 won't do. You can online for free on them console, but you have to pay a subscription to play the games.
It's just getting blatant that everybody like to complain at any kind of move Nintendo does, it's just bright.
@Sony_70 The point is, that it was a satire but GTAIV and V have a totally serious tone and all the classic jokes of the series have completely vanished.
Now you can see all the sexism, violence and, now, even drug dealing/assumption of them in a bright light. It use to be a satire but now they're dead serious about it and that puts the light on all the realistic and disturbing aspects that before, because they were exaggerated and over satiric, were soaked down.
Why a game that is over-realistic, shocking, violent and sexists is a good game?
If MadWorld was unacceptable, why this is?
Confront GTAV with Vice City, you don't even what you're talking about.
I started the IV on PC but i didn't finish it, i stopped when they made a big deal about a serious thing like losing your house, and all wedding material, in a fire. Then they got a new house in, like, 1 hour, and Roman was already forgiven and he never stops being a loving problem. There i stopped.
GTA it's not what it used to be, you should play the real deals and stop deciding by reviews. Isn't suspicios that you get like 10 news a day on every site for GTAV?
When people will use their mind? Watch the profanity, please — TBD
I wonder if SCEE or Microsoft even have a team like this, or do everything with CEOs and so what.
Because Sony and Microsoft don't even develop games anymore and i can feel that's why the PSVita is going to shat. Come on, really? The PSVita TV is not gonna have any touch features, only 90% games on the common Vita use touchscreen, it's like nothing...yeah sure...
At least Nintendo does things from a games developer and consumer perspective, it's something they should always treasure and anyone who thinks they should change, well they better play the PSVita then.
Nintendo is waiting to get the more secure system you can go for, you know with recent outbreaks in UPlay and Origin they surely want it the best they can go from a security standpoint.
If Nintendo says "we talked about this internally" they are doing something for sure.
I remember this argument coming up the first time in July, then Nintendo delayed the Wii U system update. Surely they had to add something...
I played the original Battletanx on N64. That game was infinite, especially i loved the concept behind the bonus stage: there are waves of enemies, they will get harder and harder, you will return to the main game when you die.
I have a simple request, give a longer end comment and ditch the score. If you do that i might come back and read game reviews because i won't have to deal with a score that changes your mind.
A score is bad because people wont even read the review and go directly to it, you know it's true, and when they do that score changes their mind.
Give a comment, a detailed comment in witch you say what's this all about. Even if people skip to read only that, would be much better than finding a score, at least they would read the final opinion.
I simply don't read reviews with a score because you can't talk about it later, the staff gets angry at you because you pointed out that the score doesn't reflect the review, people gets angry at you because they are fanboys and you get angry at yourself because you regret having the ability to word what you think.
Scores makes only a mess.
And who cares if Metacritic won't put your review in the mix, you want to be the medium or the good one?
I repeat, since 2012 i don't read scores reviews, and i explained above why.
This is surely because it's coming on the 3DS, they won't have groups on that but just a more loose/free community that posts whatevs to other Nintendo gamers.

@Marshi This and China lifting the Videogames embargo in this month could be a great oppurtunity.

Re: Nintendo of America Highlights Strengths of eShop Platforms, and Plans to Embrace New Ideas

Holy cow!
