Re: Talking Point: The Wonderful 101 Provides Some Rare Family Friendly Thrills

Araknie

Even doing it Solo i great fan.
I buy Nintendo consoles majory because Nintendo only can provide me that Japanese feel that on witch i fell in love since i was a little stupid brat.

In the past i bought even the PS1 and 2, but since the PS3 i don't see much of a return in term of support for japanese developers as before, it was massive back then.

The Wonderful 101 hits all the right spots for me: arcade, amazing use of points with the internal store, corky story, massive action...slurp

Re: Without iOS Support Nintendo "Doesn’t Reach Today’s Kids" Says Apple Advocate John Gruber

Araknie

Nintendo said in 2011: "Wii U is an hardcore console to thank our very fanbase for stickin around, you'll see what we mean in the very first years. While 3DS will continue to innovate the gameplay as the DS did."

Mmmm, sure Apple advocats that never play a console understand surely the market by saying a thing Steve Job always wanted to deny, because he wanted his products use as business with 5 minute snack games on them, for office people.

I hope the CEO will drop this bs or Apple is going to forget what Steve told 'em to be.

Re: Nintendo Has A "Continuing Relationship" With Minecraft Studio Mojang

Araknie

Minecraft is poopiedoodoocaca, a game with no purpose at all, you just waist time and you don't an ending a nothing, a something, some rewards.

I've played it in the early days: worst 5€ spent in my entire life, i played it for like 1 month and then it sprawled everywere and i got angry at it, they added the loving hunger bar witch you have to constatly check.

Talk about ruining totally the immersion in the game.

Re: Bethesda: The Time For Convincing Publishers And Developers To Support Wii U Is "Long Past"

Araknie

I hate publishers like Bethesda doing games only to make better graphical experiences.

They also fail at that with their major bugs in every loving PC release? They can't do a bug free game for PC! Come on!
They really should learn programming, because sheer power will continue produce major bugs and problems for them. Bethesda talks like this, really...

I don't know what's this poopoodoodiecaca all about, it's been since the N64 that Nintendo doesn't have third party support, what's the difference now?

I'm sick of this, less talk more do everybody!
Do Fallout 4 bigger than the third one and do it bug free.

Re: We're Getting Digital Right On 3DS And Wii U, Insists Reggie

Araknie

@GiftedGimp Sorry, i didn't explain myself well enough.

I meant unified Nintendo account, unique, if you will. That is a Nintendo account valid for both Club Nintendo, 3DS and Wii U and any future thing that requires it.

This is a much harder and bigger task, i know that, and may be impossibile for security reasons, i know that, it's just they thing i would like in my utopia.

That i meant with Nintendo Personal Account.

Would be cool to call it PAN: Personal Account on Nintendo, or someting like it.
Utopia.

Re: Video: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD Has a Gorgeous New Story Trailer

Araknie

I have to admit, i didn't see any single PS4 or Xbox One game with such a good use of color palettes.

I've seen a general trend of grey and brown.

Even in last gen i've seen like 2 or 3 games on PS3 and same 360 that used much colors, talking exclusives maybe Yakuza 4 and Lost Odyssey did the best range of colors on both consoles.

Yes, i'm not counting multiplatform. If i did Borderlands 2 would be the one to rule them all, right after WW.

Re: Nintendo's Scott Moffitt: 3DS and Vita Have Very Different Strategies For Portable Play

Araknie

It's simple as this: the PSVita is the Wii U of the handheld market with a major difference, Sony doesn't develop anymore games for their consoles.

So that's why, even one year ago, the 3DS had at least some games, while the PSVita can remain there because Sony wants to appeal the market just by showing the hardware and saying: it's there, do games for it.

I doesn't work like that, you have to show that you believe in your console to convince other to put their bets on it.

It's like the first year of the Wii U, Nintendo delayed so much the games that anybody had nothing to use as a marker to develop. You kinda lose will, if you have to start from zero.

Even the launch line-ups of the PS4 and Xbox One are like the Wii U, 2 or 3 interesting titles and then multiplatforms of genres of games already done to death and sequels galore because they're powerful.

Doing a console and delaying development or release of a bunch of games it's gonna hurt everybody in, at least, 2 ways: it's gonna hurt creativity because see the line-ups for PS4 and Xbox One and it's gonna hurt the eventual success of the console because, as of today's market, people get tired of waiting real fast.

That's why Gothic 3 was anticipaed, resulting in a bug fest, that why they didn't dare to delay Skyrim, that's why we get D1 Patches and all the crappy stuff because this generations of gamers wants everything fast.

If even one manufacturer, of consoles, keeps adapting on bowing themselfs to the changing market it's gonna get only harder and harder to appease to market doing creative gaming, like Reggie wants to do.

Re: Wii U Name Isn't To Blame For Poor Sales, Says Reggie

Araknie

@Kodeen Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yep.

How cannot they realize that saying everytime that the GamePad is the whole core and putting such images can cause major confusion.

There is, and that's unfortunate, people that won't even try to search a news, they see just E3 and, maybe, some PAX videos and how this mass of ignorant people is supposed to get what the Wii U it's all about?

You're totally right.

Re: Reggie Has Seen The Xbox One And PS4 Launch Lineups, And He Says "Meh"

Araknie

I too don't get the exictment at Xbox One and PS4 line-up.
What's to be excited to line-ups that privlege only players you likes gore or car games?

Plus, where are the amazing exclusives, it's just like the Wii U line-up for launch, nothing special.

But now Nintendo has put out already some exclusives and more are coming. Reggie, why don't you mention Sonic also? Really Nintendo gots to much but people is right when they say that Nintendo doesn't know how to advertise what they have.

Re: Nintendo and Capcom to Announce Upcoming Collaboration

Araknie

I hope it's a new game or a port of Dragon's Dogma with the expansion included, that game always looked rad but i could not play it on PC because Capcom is random.

If it's a MegaMan i already know it will be only a timed exclusive.

Anyway we know now that we will have a new Nintendo Direct soon.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's Limited Hard Drive Space and Future Install Headaches

Araknie

"So what can Nintendo do about this? Like the HD systems that have come before, new iterations can be released that have a lot more on-board storage; if millions of Wii U systems in the wild have this extra memory built in, devs may be tempted to start following the Rockstar example and insist on mandatory installations, telling those with less memory to pick up external hard drives. That's the message Nintendo gave when the current models were revealed, too, that we should be pleased to save the money on the unit and get external hard drives when ready. That's absolutely fair and valid right now but, again, we're thinking further ahead."

Sorry for the big quote but you're telling me to buy another Wii U or an HDD and i don't like that idea.

I like the Wii U because you don't install.

Re: Gamescom and GDC Europe Hit Record Attendance Levels

Araknie

@sinalefa They are just the same demos as E3 ones, same for the new consoles.
Since Nintendo Life was at the E3 it's no point to repeat the experience.

If there was gonna be something new Nintendo would have notified NL to go there because they needed coverage.

I don't think gaming journalism goes to events in just hope of having something to talk about.

Re: Metroid Fan Film Fundraising Campaign Demolished After Claim From Nintendo

Araknie

@G-Money_Man The point is that you can't ask money with copyrighted material, whatever the use is personal or 100% into the project.

It's just the law, and it's there for a good reason.

If Nintendo let them get away with that would make a legal issue for any kind of thing like that in that future.
Imagine just that anybody could ask money to make a movie/feature film about a copyrighted gaming character, not only Nintendo ones because the anwer to any kind of anger from developers outside Nintendo would have been: "But Nintendo let them raise money for the Metroid movie!"

Not a good thing at all.

Re: Talking Point: Gamescom Announcements Raise the Stakes for the Wii U and 3DS

Araknie

The real problem reamains one: that group of people that can't even think of a console with two screens because is stupid and than they buy the 3DS.

It's like the last Patcher video, they don't want the Gamepad so they can play their games in the usual way, even if i don't what this is.

I find the PS4 and Xbox One really boring, beside graphical power they don't offer nothing new, i really get bored of using the some controller over and over to do the same exact things i was doing with the PS1 or 2.

How's that a sign of a healty market and how's Nintendo the broken apple i don't know, i dont' get this.

Re: Kokuga Publisher Believes The Shoot-em-‘up Genre Faces a "Very Difficult Crossroads" in Japan

Araknie

It lasted good till 5 years ago with popcorn games that were free and helped the genre, and some even very well done to be free games.

Now, we have indies that provide a safe market for self-publishers, big or little, but free games suffer this.

Since SHUMPS were big in the free market now, with that fading every day more, it's suffering from all this copyright protection.

Re: Soapbox: 'Vintage' Used Game Prices Do Nothing to Encourage Customer Loyalty

Araknie

With Metroid Prime Trilogy i can't really blame Nintendo, they said loud and clear that it was Limited Edition like they said that about NSLU, but we forget...nono, i'm wrong we remember what makes us win.

So, this is the way of thinking that you will find inside a Gamestop.
Xenoblade Chronicles was to be release in all Europe the 18th August am i right? Well, my local retailer was stolen from the possibiliy of having the game because Gamestop had the exclusivity.

Fine, i have to enter a Gamestop i'll do it for Xenoblade.

So let's start this final part saying that i'm Italian.
I enter there, it was the 4th of August, saying: "I want to pre-order Xenoblade Chronicles."
Retailer: "For what console?"
I: (sigh) "For the Wii..."
R: "It will be out 18th of August, you have to give 5€ to pre-order it and i will see you that day."

The 18th of August.
I: "Hello, i Pre-Ordered Xenoblade Chronicles for the Wii, here's my document."
R: "Oh, sorry, but we moved the date of release."
I: "Nintendo moved the date of release for Italy?"
R: "Nono, we moved that date of release for Italy only, you have to come back the 7th of September, i'm sorry."

Yeah, sorry my donkey, why they did this? They were the only retailer selling it in Italy and they moved the date without telling no-one, i received no call as the conctract the have with pre-orders implies, surely damaging sales of the game that, in the rest of Europe, was out the 18th of August as planned, even in the other european Gamestops.

Nintendo should put these games on the eShop for, say, 30€ and do a nasty face to this damned retailer.
