World of Goo is a top 3 GOAT for me, and I had no idea WOG 2 had been announced, so this is so exciting! I played the original on PC and I fell in love with everything about it.
This review is crazy. I'm a huge Bubble Bobble fan, and I've always preferred it to this game in the arcades, but when I got around to playing it, it always felt like fun to me. This is such a mean-spirited review I cannot believe it's on Nintendo Life.
Any best of indie 2021 list of nominees that doesn't include Death's Door is a joke. I'm sorry, but it is. Unless it wasn't included for reasons other than its quality.
@Shambo I never finished the first one because of the distractingly long loading times. In a game where you die so often, minute-long loading times shouldn't be a thing.
Glad to hear this has been remedied in the sequel. I'm getting this one for sure.
@nessisonett Some people will always be offended, and not necessarily the same people every time. So, let's stop creating art or entertainment that could be provocative to anyone. Better yet, let's not say anything, ever.
Lol, gotta love identity politics. The New Pearl Clutchers need to get a life. And I say that as someone who won't touch a game with sexualized characters (that kind of stuff seems pretty puerile to me) unless it's called Bayonetta.
But just because I find it silly, it doesn't mean that I'll try to cancel something.
@Nye1779 The Sexy Brutale still runs like, unfortunately. I wanted to keep playing, and maybe the term has lost its meaning in these days of shameless hyperbole, but it was unplayable.
Sonic 2 is already on my Switch, I got it the second it was released. I already had the game on my Switch (The Sega Mega Drive collection) but the input lag on those versions is horrendous. I'm so glad to be able to play it on my Switch without having to wait one second for Sonic to respond.
Easily one of my favorite games of all time. I have it on Steam, eShop, physical (the PC version released back in the day), Android and even bought it directly from the devs.
It's such a shame that 2D Boy never released a second game as brilliant as WoG. Tomorrow Corporation's (kind of the spititual successors to 2D Boy) Human Resource Machine and Little Inferno never held much appeal to me.
Go my limited edition copy on release date, couldn't be happier. But yeah, it should contain a soundtrack CD or something. The music in the game is glorious.
I bought Amnesia on PC when it first came out and I gave up on it half an hour after I started playing. I'm not ashamed to say that I couldn't handle it, it was a very scary experience.
@BenAV That was my experience too, I loved the game but the loading times were so annoying I never actually finished it. I'm definitely finishing it right after I finish Guacamelee and Sonic Mania, tho. See, I have a plan. 😁
To me, this is the most exciting Sega Ages release by far. I used to spend hours in the arcades on this game. In fact, this is the game that made me bother to create a Japanese account on the eShop, so that I could snatch it up a couple of weeks early.
It possibly wasn't considered as much of a classic in other countries (I grew up in Cyprus) but around here you couldn't find an arcade that didn't have Wonder Boy: Monster Land even if you tried.
I'm really looking forward to Monster Land (the Sega Ages version that's apparently coming soon) as that's my favorite Wonder Boy title of all time but I grabbed this for my wife, she loves the arcade original.
@Balladeer As a musician, I'm pretty sure that if they simply replaced the recorder with a flute, the soundtrack would improve significantly. The recorder wrecks it.
Plays perfectly on my Nvidia Shield TV (which I imagine would make porting easy since they share a SoC) but I would really love to be able to play on the go!

For some reason I find the graphics in this really off-putting. I loved Half-Genie's art style but this looks weirdly flat and barren.
